Shop Mgr threatened to hit us! Really!! 5/3/2012

Mike (shop manager?) threatened to hit me and my fiancé in front of customers, staff and the sales manager. Stood face to face with him and he wanted to "bring it on". Can you believe it? We tried to get help from the Sales Manager, felt sorry for the guy. He just stood there and didn't know what to say. Waited 3 hours to get an oil change and service decided we should've "made an appointment" for their "Express Service". So we didn't get the oil change or the blower fan looked at. This has been a LONG process of trying to get my moonroof fixed and a blower fan fixed that's been "whistling" for 3 1/2 years I've owned the car. Now (after warranty, of course) the blower fan is starting to make those "going out" noises. Maybe a bad bearing? When we use the moonroof you'd swear that someone was shaking the whole roof off. They all admit there's a problem, but.... Like the old saying "just don't get sick". Well at Luther Westside Volkswagen - "just don't ask to get things fixed more than once or get a beating!" more

Steve and his team at Westside VW are amazing! I just bought my 7th car from Steve and Helton. Helton was thoughtful and detailed. He listened to what I wanted, not to what he wanted to sell me. They did an amazing job for me with financing. I am definitely a lifer at Westside! Nancy Evelyn more

WORST experience buying a car EVER 6/30/2010

Sold me a lemon that they said all problems fixed. Not so in the least. Car used 2 qts of oil in a month, bad shocks (which they said were checked and fine) brakes squeak etc. Walking on the lot no one greated me for a quite awhile. Took me for a test drive of several cars and acted like I wasn't a buyer. Boy was sales person surprised when I called HIM to buy it. I guess they don't think women actually buy their own cars or something! They offered to buyback my lemon but hid lower priced models from me and tried to sell me a car $7000 more than my lemon. Than a week later they actually had a car more in my budget and told me to hurry on in to look at it cuz it just got off the truck tonight. What a surprise when carfax showed they bought it 3 weeks ago. Wow weren't they doing me a favor. I was stuck between a rock and a hard place since I had to buy a car from them or they wouldn't give me my money back for the bad car. I can tell on Google reviews they had a large number of bad reviews which they had false good reviews made up to cover. Please don't ever go to this dealership. This had been my 3rd car from them and they treated me so poorly and unfair I will NEVER step a foot on their lot again. Also VWs very unreliable cars. If you buy one make friends with your service advisor. I know my advisors phone # by heart. more

Good service center with the typical VW pricetag 9/26/2005

We purchased a Jetta here a few years ago and usually take the car there for service and repairs. Our experience has been good so far, but the car has been under warranty so we havent had to pay for repairs. Their prices seem pretty high, so we will probably look for another place eventually. Their new facilities are very nice and they offer a shuttle to downtown or a complimentary rental car if your vehicle is receiving warranty work. The service employees are good, but they are sometimes very busy and in my opinion, do not take enough time to describe the work that was done. more

I have bought two new cars from Volkswagen dealers and my experience with Westside was relatively good. The physical space of the new shop is very nice and has modern amenities such as internet access, a large screen t.v. if waiting and a beverage bar for free. The service department is skilled and finishes repairs with lightening speed. They will also shuttle you to and from downtown Minneapolis for the workday while doing repairs. Unfortunately, I also know that the body shop does qulality work due to an accident. I have referred friend who I want to keep to this dealership...enough said! more
