AMAZING PLACE ! I can' believe none of the girls of Cheng's have been on RuPaul's Drag Race, probably because there would be no competition! I had my baby shower (yes baby shower)...

Not for the most prudish... Okay food at inflated NY prices. The highlights are in the friendly service (not to mention their hair) and chic styles of the waitstaff. There was als...

LOVE THIS PLACE! I went there for my friend's birthday party and wow. more

Lowest Grade from NYC Dept of Health 3/5/2012

I came here on 3/3/2012 to celebrate my friends 30th bday. It turned out to be an absolute nightmare. Yes, I do agree that you have to be open minded in order to sit through a show of drag queens gyrating on chairs and customers. But this place is just disgusting. The decor is horrible. The ""ladies"" look dirty, as if they haven't washed their costumes in weeks. When I walked in, I was already weary about eating at a place that looks and smells so unclean. But I was willing to deal with it for my friend. Next...the food!!! more

Very entertaining & good food 10/25/2011

My friends and I were looking for an offbeat dining experience and we ended up getting a very memorable one. The transexual entertainers were actually very talented and hilarious. We opted for the ribs and salmon and were pleasantly surprised by the great quality of the food. At $35 per person including drinks, worth the price of dinner and entertainment. All in all, would definitely plan on coming back here. more

AMAZING PLACE ! I can' believe none of the girls of Cheng's have been on RuPaul's Drag Race, probably because there would be no competition! I had my baby shower (yes baby shower) here and it was hysterical and outrageous as I saw my husband get a lap dance from Paulina Princess of Power! Lailah the bartender was gorgeous and had me in stitches, and Paulina and Tiara put on a world class show! Also After the drinks start flowing and the show is over stay for the Karaoke!!!!! Thats when the REAL fun starts! more

FABULOUS EXPERIENCE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 10/18/2011

A group of us girls decided to celebrate one of our more reserved friends birthday this past weekend and we had a blast. The drinks were strong and so yummy. Totally loosened up our friend who went on to get a lap dance and even get on stage with the wild, talented and fun loving hostesses at Lucky Chengs. The place completely lived up to its legendary reputation as the most fun spot to celebrate and get crazy. It will be a night my friend will never forget. We are planning to go back again and again. Thanks Lucky Chengs for showing us a fabulous time !!! more

Best place ever for a bachelorette party!! 7/15/2011

Been here several times and Lips, but this place is just the most fun. I love the Asian food, we always go for either the $36 or $40 menu, and have great steak, salmon, tuna. Don't usually go for the wok items. The ribs are to die for. Forget about the food, it's great if you know what to order. It's the show and the waitresses. They are totally interactive, make it their business to ensure that every single person has a great time. Every time there, I laugh until my stomach hurts. The only drawback, the waitresses are very quick at asking you if ready for another. Ouch, feeling it this morning!!!!! more

Fun All the way 6/20/2011

OMG!.The atmosphere starts the minute you enter. How much fun! The music got to me as soon as I entered and seeing the bartender (bartendress?) we waited a few minutes, but enjoyed drinks at the bar whike waiting for our table. And the attitude of each ladies ranging from sweet and innocent to sassy & nasty was quite entertaining. I kept filling my drinks over and over! You're there for the atmosphere and fun. And fun it is. The food isn't gourmet, but good enough. And the desserts!..The show was great and the lap dance girls were so much fun. I even got to participate and have a lap dance! I would definitely go again more

whatever you are looking for its here !! 6/20/2011

I was drawn to Lucky Cheng?s most recently by the full moon last week when I just knew I had to go out and howl. This is the place to find good friends and reasonable prices. The girls are all here Tgirls and young party girls enjoying the karaoke and having their bachelorette parties. The guys all here, looking for the girls or the hippest guys. The atmosphere is everything from laid back and casual to wild and crazy. There are multi-level bars scenes where you can relax, throw some drinks down and chat. Downstairs or upstairs you can find shows with various themes and the staff is the friendliest and most attentive group you will find in the city. This has been my bar of choice for years and you can always find good looks, good prices, good booze and good times ....every night. Do you desire something eat? .... Try the brand new Bento Burger portion of the establishment for the trendiest eatery to hit NYC in a long time. Have you figured out I love this place? Give it a try and I am certain you will not be disappointed. more

This is REAL NEW YORK kids, timeless and spectacular! 6/20/2011

This place is legendary! This is TRULY a NY classic and it's here to stay!! The staff is absolutely delightful and friendly. Be ready for the time of your life, and at the very least you're going to experience something you definitely don't experience every day. Not for the faint of heart, as this place has real NY attitude so if you're a b*tch they're a b*tch, but it's still b*tching good times! This definitely beats a fancy bourgeois dinner of $200 for two. You can do that anywhere. This place is something to make your New York experience complete! I love all my girls there and Lailah is going to be your FIERCE bartender. She's gone through a awesome transformation and is looking stunning! Come here... don't miss out! more

Legendary Drag Queen Restaurant and Bar! 6/18/2011

I LOVE this place!!!! I have been coming to Lucky Cheng's for years and have yet to be disappointed! I mean honestly, for the price of dinner and a show in NYC, it's a pretty great deal! I live in the east village and it's definitely a place I take my friends from out of town for a fun night of food, drinks and laughs. We always have a fantastic time!!! The food is good and they have several options for vegetarians like myself:) The portions are huge so we never leave this place hungry. The waitresses are always friendly attentive and willing to take tons of pictures with me and my friends. The entertainment is hysterical; I always laugh my ass off, and if you want to participate and get on stage or really embarrass your friends you can, (I always see tons of birthday and bachelorette celebrations here) And the drinks are tasty and right in the price range for other neighborhood bars. (this is NYC people, sorry, but if you're expecting to pay $5 for a drink you need to go back in time to the 80's) The place is a bit campy, but hey, it's a drag queen cabaret bar, what do you expect? I actually love the ambiance! In addition to the dining area filled with dim lighting and colorful lanterns, there is a bar area in the front of the restaurant for patrons that just want to drink and not eat dinner. (this has been great for those late night drop ins w/friends that just want to check it out or attempt to sing karaoke) Lailah, the bartender, is very engaging and always has funny story's to tell. There are even a few ""regulars"" that I see when I come here, which let's be honest, I think that says a lot for the staff and how they treat customers. It's a quirky ""Cheers"" you might say. Also, for those that may not know this, Lucky Cheng's has worked with some pretty cool celebrity's. Lady Gaga and Cyndy Lauper shot their MAC Viva Glam campaign here, it was featured on the first season of Sex and the City where Carrie and friends attend a birthday party, and for those die hard 30 Rock fans such as myself, it's been featured several times as the place where Jenna's boyfriend Paul works and impersonates her. I really get a kick out of that stuff! All in all, I think Lucky Cheng's is definitely one of those places you must visit when in NYC. more

Ignore the review from Luckyfella, Lucky Cheng's has been doing it's unique thing for literally thousands of people from all over the world for years and years! Do you think it would have lasted so long if it was a rip-off? Do you think it would be part of the East Village's lifeblood if the food was sub-par? Do you think the drag queens would keep coming back if they knew that rats might scurry across the trains of their beautiful, often hand-made gowns? Of course not! Everyone living or visiting NYC should say they've had a night at Lucky Cheng's. They won't regret it ;) more

Exotically Hilarious! 3/27/2011

First off let me start out by saying that if you come here, invested in great food and a romantic dinner for two, you are in for quite the disappointment. Although it may be fun to go with one or two friends, the ""drag queen experience"" is best a with large groups. I went here last week for one of my best friend's birthdays with a group of 25 people. It didn't look like much from the outside, but once we entered the restaurant, the entire place, from the toilet seats to the bars, raved the unorthodox and lively theme. We were seated instantly and the food came very quickly, considering the size of our party. The portions and quality of the food were decent, definitely not worth $34 a person, but let's face it, we were not there for the five star gourmet meal. Shorty after the food came, the show began. The performing drag queens spared no vulgar detail and showed sexual restraint very sparingly as one of them stood on both hands, crotch dangling vigorously into my friend's face during a lap dance! From the singing and comedy to the straight out exotically hilarious lap dances, the show kept all of us reaching for our cameras, forgetting almost entirely about our plates. Towards the end of the show came the part where the guest of honor from each table was pulled out to join the performers and put on a little show of their own. Unfortunately, the birthday girl from my table was a little too uncomfortable for all that. I would've volunteered but they already had two guys. I left Lucky Cheng's with a full stomach, a full camera, and memories that definitely won't fade any time soon. 5 STARS! more

Get your mom on stage for the lapdance contest 3/13/2011

Had my whole family there for my mom's 60th birthday, ages 15 to 72. Could not have had more fun. My mom got drunk and got on stage The drag queens were so much fun and made a big to do over her. The manager made erotic balloons for the entire table and asked us to write a review, so here I am. Food great, we had a chocolate shoe for dessert which was amazing. The hostess, a big funny drag queen, was hysterical and seated us immediately. Word of advice, get there on time with you entire party. There were people who arrived without their whole party and they were not seated right away and seemed kind of angry. more

Thanks, Candy! 12/12/2010

This place is kind of disorganized and the food is OK at best, but our cocktail waitress, Candy, was an ABSOLUTE SUPERSTAR. She took care of our huge office party all night, and she was SO friendly and helpful and great. Give this lady a bonus and ask for her by name. We were all impressed! more

Had A Blast!!!!!! 9/25/2010

This place was like hilarious, fun and sexy wrapped up in a ball! I went for my girlfriends 25th birthday last night with all our co-workers and it was amazing. When you walk in its like an asian red and black dimmed setting with red and gold round lamps and nice art work on the walls. The drag queens are all dressed up in their cute outfites smiling and greeting as they pass. When the host took us to our seats everything was set up neatly and there were plenty of seats for our large party. Our waitress was Fast, attentive, and funny. The food was delicious and the drinks were big bowls with flames in the middle of them that they called orgy bowls. They also had an amazing ballon guy who cracks jokes and makes penis and vagina my favorite was the massage guy who gave the birthday girl a great massage. He was so cute with his dimples. He charged 20 bucks, which is a little steap, but she said it was worth the money. The show was crazy! The asian lady hosting was a riot and the dancers were dressed in the most exotic outfits. They even had a lapdance contest and gave big bowls of alcohol as prizes to the winner. We all stayed for karaoky because we did'nt want to leave. One of the bartenders gave me a CD for gettting on stage with the massage guy who could SING!!. All and All it was a Great time with a fun and talented staff. Im defenitly going back for my birthday!!!!! more

Love it! 8/2/2010

went to Lucky Chengs on 7/31/10 to celebrate my B-day..we all enjoyed ourselves..You must have a sense of Humor to talk into this place.if you dont stay home!.and you must be ready to hear language you normally dont hear on a day to day basis, But nothing different then going to a comedy show !.As for the food. If you check there web site before making reservations, you will see there menu and how its broken down, so even if you pick the 32.00 menu we which were a group of 9 had enough to eat, and were able to eat a variety of foods. Our Server was Hawaiian he was fun and friendly, ask if we needed change back at the end ! and brought me a free drink. I guess you have to hope you get a friendly server, we noticed some not so friendly with there customers.WE LUCKED OUT! Only down fall was the Massage guy with the 20.00 charge, didnt find him helpful to the show. I would go back again, Minus the massage..Overall we all had a great time..laughed about it the following day..:) Pros: hysterical! Cons: the massage guy more

bach party 8/1/2010

place is a total rip off. be prepared to spend hundreds of dollars.. all they want is your money. they all come over at different times throughout your dinner and request you give them a cash tip. and dont be fooled by the ghetto massage guy who comes over to your table and says here let me give you a massage and when it over demands it was $20... they never gave water to my table and the waitress/waiter was horrible!!!! my suggestion.. go anywhere else!!!! more

Bachelorett Party. 3/15/2010

We had a Bachelorette party this past Saturday night for my sister @ Lucky Chengs. The weather was really bad and we were coming from Long Island. We called to say we would be a little late because of the storm and the person who answered the phone was very rude to us. he told us we needed to hurry or we would lose our time slot. I explained we were caught in traffic, and were on our way. When we arrived my sister checked in and the same person who answered the phone was a host . He was extremely rude to my sister who's party it was and rude to me. . After making us wait a considerable ammount of time we were sat. Our waitress Bree was very nice and made sure we had a good time. The show was hilarious and my sister was brought onstage to give a lap dance, the guy was kind of old but it was really funny. the drink we had was a big bowl of liquor and we really enjoyed that. The food was also good, and there was a lot of it. The desert was good too. I loved the chocolate cake! All and all we had a fun night, but I don't think I would come back. When I asked who the host was I was told us the host ,John Mark was the manager. I was shocked. Customers should never be talked to or treated that way. I wanted to make a complaint, but my sister Nancy asked me not to. So would have to say I have very mixed feelings about Lucky Chengs. Pros: Fun drinks, good show, fun waitresses Cons: rude host & manager more

Best place to celebrate ! 1/26/2010

Me and my friend share the same birthday and were turning the big 4-0 ! So we wanted to have a blast with about 20 of our friends ! And this was the perfect place to do it. The place was packed, but our waitress made us feel extra special. We got a lap dance and ordered from the amazing list of specialty drinks ! They made us part of the show, which was hysterical. We topped the evening off with an yummy erotic cake. Thanks to all the girls for a great time. We WILL be coming back soon !! Pros: Totally funny show, great service and good drinks ! more
