AMAZING PLACE ! I can' believe none of the girls of Cheng's have been on RuPaul's Drag Race, probably because there would be no competition! I had my baby shower (yes baby shower)...

Worst

Not for the most prudish... Okay food at inflated NY prices. The highlights are in the friendly service (not to mention their hair) and chic styles of the waitstaff. There was als...

The most fun and unusual place you'll ever find! 3/30/2006

Great place to take friends out and WOW them with dinner AND a show for about $50 each. The waitstaff here are GORGEOUS! You have a hard time believing that they are really men! I've been here many times and the food has improved immensely (read that they just hired a new chef)! If you go with a large group, select the Asian Feast 2 or 3. You get a larger selection of food choices so EVERYONE in your party will find something that agrees with them. Cocktails here are quite tasty and POTENT! You don't taste the alcohol but BOY DO YOU FEEL THE EFFECTS THE NEXT DAY! LOL! Getting a large orgy bowl of pink pussy is a fun way to start the evening and tell your friends the next day that you shared pussy last night with your girlfriends. Read that Lady Gaga and Cyndi Lauper were both here recently. This place has a lot of female clientele versus men so there was a long line to the bathroom. Single guys will have a field day here! LOL! After the dinner hour karaoke starts. Overall this place is very fun and entertaining. When in NYC be sure to make a stop here. It was featured in Sex in the City! Pros: Fun place, entertaining, Beautiful Girls, Karaoke! Cons: long bathroom lines more

Food Sucks & Entertainment not good 6/14/2005

I asked for chopsticks to eat with my Pad Thai. ""Oh, we don't have chopsticks. We're 'Pan-Asian'"". ????? That was the first no no. Then the food itself was bland, overly greasy, and just plain bad. For the $14 I paid for that crap I was expecting something a lot better. But of course, the main thing here is the show, right? The 'Hostess/ MC' that night was just a bad comedian. He... she had tired old sexual innuendo's and jokes. They didn't work. She could've been much more witty and smart than she was. I will not come back to this shabby place. more

patience is a virtue 3/18/2004

This place is a blast! I've been here before and love it! Noticed that the menu is totally new and twice the size of the old one. With the large crowds here and the larger menu, be prepared to wait for your dinner to arrive at your table. The lines to the bathroom are pretty long too so I suggest going easy on the water! LOL! Seeing familiar faces here working makes me feel like I've come back to old friends and I know I'm going to have a good time in spite of the wait. Dont forget to bring a $1 for the bathroom attendant! She can be a bit crotchety! Check out karaoke but no Madonna songs (the host gets bitchy). Pros: great food, great drinks, familiar staff Cons: , crowded downstair bar, bad karaoke singers more

THE ABSOLUTE BEST PLACE TO GO IN NYC!!! 10/13/2003

I loved this place. There were 12 of us at the table, and everyone had a blast. We got two of our friends Lapdance's, and neither of them had any idea about it. The whole restaurant was in hysterics, and the feeling was warm and inviting. I had the Sirloin and it was perfect, i enjoyed Every aspect of my time at Lucky Cheng's. I was brought up on stage, given 3 lapdances by customers, then pretty much undressed, haha. Take notice of the hostess... very very hot!!! Pros: Great Food, Great Show, Great Prices Cons: None, None, None more

Return Reviews 9/29/2003

On a recent return visit I was pleasantly surprised to see a revamped menu! With a 10th anniversary next week I'm sure that this was all planned. The Thai chicken soup was divine (full of flavor with a kick!), the BBQ salmon was good if not a bit too salty from the heavy miso. My friend had the Dancing Shrimp (delicious!) which was curiously shaped like 2 shrimp entwined in a Tango. The Ahi tuna special was perfectly done rare with a nice tangy citrus sauce. All the dishes beautifully presented as are the waitresses. Definitely a delight to come back to an old friendly place. Pros: delicious food, beautiful "girls", fun! Cons: hard to find parking, crowded bars, crowded bathrooms more

Fantastic Food, Hot Babes 9/2/2003

We went there with a small party (only 3 people) resently and had a great time. Our server Mayuko was a Queen in all senses of the word. I had the asian pear chicken, which was divine, and a lap dance for our birthday girl, which was hilarious. We all had a great time. Prize tip which we overheard from a manager(??): MAKE RESERVATIONS WELL IN ADVANCE. ""Walk-Ins"", especially on fridays and saturdays, will be seated on a smaller are away from the main dining room (and the stage!!) if it's full. Then again, that area looked pretty quet and might be ideal if you don't want to be in the middle of all the excitement. Pros: beautiful 'girls', great cocktails, fabulous food Cons: *way* downtown more

Wild place 8/28/2003

This place attracts a lot of loud drunken bachelorette parties so it's not for families with young children. Cross your fingers that you are not sat next to a large party of them since they forget that they are out in public. My young daughter was scared of the place so we left without seeing the show. I'll come back another time with my adult friends. The food and drinks were good though. Pros: attentive service, good food and drinks Cons: loud, crowded, hard to find parking more

Horrible 7/21/2003

Karaoke hostess kicked our Bachelorette out of the bar after we had already paid for ridiculously expensive watered down drinks because the bachelorette wanted to sing a song that the hostess did not like. Hostess followed us out the door and called a member of our party a horribly derogatory expletive. Waited 30 minutes to speak to a manager who told us that this was all perfectly acceptable and that we were in the wrong for suggesting the song---the one that was in the book they gave us to pick from. NEVER AGAIN! Cons: Bad Service, Obnoxious Management, RUDE more

Don't come here for good eats 6/10/2003

The food here is just awful but then I guess no one really go to this place for great food. The atmosphere is interesting but if you have been there once, it's enough. more

In love with the girls!!!!!!! 5/12/2003

Went for a bachelorette party and the girls put us to shame!! Loved the food and our ""special"" cake. The honoree had a pretty racy lap dance. The best part about our night was the show. Sang karaoke until very late. Get a lot of sleep before you go. more

frozen food? 5/5/2003

Visited this past weekend after reading the reviews on this site but the food here SUCKS! We waited FOREVER for a table and when the appetizers arrived they were cold or frozen in the middle! The chicken was raw on the inside and the pupu platter was cold. What gives???? Cons: uncooked food, crowded, long line to bathroom more

NOT for the timids (or the snobs)!!! 5/3/2003

What a riot! Bring your sense of humor when you go. The cocktail list gives you a hint of what's to come. Hillarious names for the tasty drinks! The food was very good (i.e. the chicken was not even dry) but the show and the staff are why you should go there. These raucous girls (?) are really funny and gang on you if you're not carefull. As for the lap dances, I really can't describe them here... Pros: FUN, Ambiance, Food & drinks more

BEST DRAG QUEEN PLACE IN NYC 3/21/2003

My friends and I went to Lucky Cheng's on Saturday, 3/15 for my b'day and we had a BLAST!!!! Our waitress Yuca was awesome. The food was delicious and the show was the BOMB!!! I would definitely recommend anyone to go and check out Lucky Cheng's if you want to have lots of fun!!! more

jp2096 3/19/2003

Not for the most prudish... Okay food at inflated NY prices. The highlights are in the friendly service (not to mention their hair) and chic styles of the waitstaff. There was also this awful sewer-like smell, but that was hopefully just that one time. Pros: the shows Cons: price more

Lucky Find 1/29/2003

My cousin took me to this place after visiting our Asian Drag restaurant ""Asia SF"" here in California and this place is great! The food is OK (sorry but ours is better) and the karaoke room is nice. The downstairs bar area is really tacky though. Everyone sits facing the bathrooms and the floor is falling apart. No heat down there either! What gives? I told my friends here in California about Lucky Cheng's and no one else has heard of it! Perhaps you guys should advertise more. Pros: good service, gorgeous waitresses, karaoke! Cons: food is average, no heat, small bar more

foodlover 1/13/2003

It's been a while sice I went back to lucky cheng's, and to my surprise it has done a dramatic change. The food it's absolutely exquisite. All this thanks to a new chef whom I was introduce to called Julio Roldan. I'll be back without a doubt. As for the service, it has also improved significantly. Our waitress, GRETCHEN, was so much fun and very efficient. Pros: food, ambiece, service Cons: waiting for table, non smoking more

Romantic! 12/21/2002

Went to dinner Thursday with my boyfriend and had a lovely time. Our waitress Torah gave me some great beauty tips and my boyfriend bought me a rose from the flower man! The soft music really set the mood for our romantic dinner. I hear that it is more wild on the weekends. I'm sure to come back again. more

luv those girls 12/13/2002

my wife and i travel to n.y.c. a couple times a year and we always go to chengs. the first time we sat at the bar for drinks and saw the wild shows that go on right near us. although we have never ate there, we do drink and party because that place has some wonderful waitresses there. bree and kasha we luv you both, and can't wait to go back next year. bottom line they make you feel good when you are in that establishment and that is just as important as the meal itself. Pros: great time, workers luv people, non crowded street more
