Lovett Inn 5/30/2009

The Lovett Inn was a gorgeous place and I just loved the rooms, garden and breakfast (sparkling cider yum!). I was even offered an extra bed to accommodate my many guests. The only issue I had was the somewhat lukewarm welcome as a group of teenagers. But if you're past your teens, this is a great place to stay. more

Gorgeous and romantic accommodation in perfect trendy location 7/17/2007

The Lovett Inn is a gorgeous, romantic, tastefully decorated, tranquil and calming space set in the heart of the dynamic and trendy Montrose District. The proprietors are extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the area: from wining and dining, to museum and gallery visiting and other points of interest. They are willing to assist to make one's stay absolutely perfect. This kind of personal attention is a rare find in an establishment situated in the heart of such a large city. A wonderful experience to be repeated as often as possible! more

Nightmare on Lovett St... 7/11/2007

We made reservations for July 6th and 7th to attend a wedding. The rooms did not look like the website pictures looked. We were told there were some cancellations and perhaps we might be interested in staying in a room in the main house instead of the townhouse. He (One of the two gentlemen who own this place) said they were painting the suite above us the following day. I booked this particular suite a month and a half earlier on-line thru their website. They had plenty of time to ""PLAN"" for us and could have chosen more wisely the day in which they painted the suite above the room we booked. I received no email confirmation from them. A week before we arrived I emailed requesting confirmation and the reply was two words: YOUR CONFIRMED. The breakfast was continental and available 24/7; There was NO cooked breakfast. Disappointing. Then we were told that there was a thermostat in the joined hallway that was shared between our unit (7) and the upstairs unit. This was fine.. a non-issue at the time. The following morning, we awoke to heavy thuds and heavy feet and moving. It woke me up. Then it got really hot in our room, so I went into the shared hallway and turned the air back on because it was turned OFF.Thirty minutes later it was hot again; THE OWNERS TURNED IT UP To 85 this time. I was furious. We left at around 11am and returned at 3:30. The maid had not come. We dressed for the wedding and left. The next morning guess what? IT WAS HOT AGAIN because they adjusted it AGAIN while they were painting the upstairs suite AGAIN AGAIN AGAIN. We left shortly after 10am and it was not fast enough. I am disgusted as you can tell. I am shocked that this place is open for business. There is virtually NO SERVICE. FREE is too much to pay. Stay away and save yourself from this nightmare on Lovett St. more

always a pleasure 2/27/2003

I have had several special events at the Lovett Inn and I have always been glad that I did. The staff prepared the spaces just as requested. The deliveries were easy to coordinate- and the rooms were not too small- even better- they were not too big for my intimate gatherings. Clean, easy to find and a Houston classic! I LOVETT! more

Cozy and Welcoming 2/12/2003

The Lovett Inn is a welcome respite from the big commercial hotel offerings of Houston. Afforable, hospitable, friendly, cozy and fun---it's located on a beautfiul old tree-lined street in Houston away from the traffic and the noise. The staff is attentive. They have a great arrangement with Fitness Xchange for working out. Grounds have great pool and gazebo for quiet relaxation. Overall, it's much more of a home away from home atmosphere. Try it, you'll like it. more

Charming 2/10/2003

Nestled in the heart of Houston's Montrose, the Lovett Inn is the perfect setting for a calm refuge while visiting busy Houston. The service is impeccable, the guests are lovely, and it is so conveniently located to all of Houston's best sites. I wouldn't even think about staying anywhere else when I visit Houston, and neither should you. Pros: great location, excellent service, good price more

well worth a try 2/8/2003

Charming & great location, with a very small but helpful staff. My wife and I stay there about five times a year and are always very comfortable. We've tried every room. There seem to be no negatives, and few guests are there more that we are! Pros: great staff, charming environment, perfect location Cons: bathrooms are old more

Home Away from Home 2/8/2003

I highly recommend the Lovett Inn B&B for a place to call home away from home while visiting Houston! I have stayed there on business for 3 to 4 nights a week for the past 7 months. For me, the inn is conveniently located close to downtown. There are also nearby shopping and restaurants. The inn itself offers a variety of rooms. Each one is different but all include the amenities to take the edge off of business travel (coffee maker, iron, etc.) One feature I especially liked was that the breakfast basics were available anytime of the day (fruit, cereals, milk, etc.). Most importantly the owner and staff at the B&B did their best to make sure I was happy during my work weeks. I tried staying at other B&Bs and hotels, but the Lovett Inn is the best! Pros: friendly staff, location, neighborhood more

My Favourite Inn 2/7/2003

When I travel on business to Houston I only stay at The Lovett Inn. This wonderful old house has charm, serious character, a wonderful continental breakfast in a great old dining room. And, last but not least, the Inn has Tom, the perfect innkeeper. I look forward to many many future stays at The Lovett Inn! more

Great B&B in the heart of the city 2/7/2003

Loved It 2/7/2003

I always stay here when I'm in Houston. I prefer to stay at a B&B when I travel. Amenities here are superior to most. The 'main house' is beautifully restored with great rooms. Townhome-like accommodations are also available. Continental breakfast is abundant and fresh. Staff is friendly - always ready with advice on where to eat, party, shop. Location is incredible. Pros: good value, incredible location more

A Little GEM In The Big City 2/7/2003

The Lovett Inn is a little gem in the midst of a big city. It is a comfortable and friendly bed and breakfast. The homemade pasteries are irresitable! The staff is very helpful. They know all of the little out-of-the-way places in the neighborhood. The Inn has everything the business or pleasure traveler needs, including a beautiful pool and Jacuzzi. For a first-class hotel at more resonable rates, I recommend the Lovett Inn. more
