Have you ever frequented a restaurant and only ever ordered one thing off the menu because it is so good that you cannot risk ordering anything else? Los Dos Molinos is my favorite Mexican restaurant (so far). Pros: Awesome food, Spicy hot, good service Cons: Parking is limited, Waits can be long if you arrive at rush hour (noon) more

Best Margaritas and Hot Food What else do you need.... 12/19/2007

I must admit I was skeptical going in. but I will say iIwas happy I had a sober driver when leaving. This was an has been the best mexican food in the east valley. They have awesome birthday parties where the drinks and food just keep coming. But oh yeahhhh, they love those chilis.....be cautious. Pros: low key- awesome food and the best margaritas....bring a driver Cons: parking lot more

Los Dos Molinos 10/4/2006

This was truly the worst Mexican food my boyfriend and I had ever had, and we have had a lot!; we are both over 40. Both our dishes were too salty and portions small & overpriced for Mexican food. Had it been really good food/service it would have justified the price. The service was also the worst we had ever experienced. It was imposible to get a waiter when we were first seated and next thing we knew he was gone - for the day! We waited a half an hour for our check and was even asked by the hostess, ""Why we were still there?"" as if kicking us out until I mentioned we still hadn't received the check yet to her surpise. I was appalled by the price - $90 for lunch! The check was not itemized; just amounts from a calcuator. So we had to go through it with a fine tooth comb and found an error. Also, I ordered a special from a blackboard that came with beans/rice but on the check the beans and rice were ala carte & had to pay for (not included) and had to pay more;we each only had 2 drinks. My boyfriend's beer was served in a glass with a big chip in it and was sour - I had never even heard of sour beer! He switched to a bottled beer. On the Border has much better food at a great price and has a nice atmosphere and good service. We were told the Mesa restaurant is much better, but since we had such a horrible experience at the Phoenix local we don't want to waste our money to see if Mesa local is better. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO ELSEWHERE! Pros: None - Thumbs down Cons: Poor service/food/prices more

Would not go back. 1/15/2006

Yes were seated quickly and first round of drinks w/chips & water arrived, but that's it. We had to find a waiter to take our order, and then had to wait 1 1/2 hrs to be served (our kid was starving), our food which was lukewarm and tortillas flat out cold! Everyone was still hungry after their meals, as portions are not big. To get refills we had to find another waitress, who then brought us a cracked margarita schooner. The best part is the salsa, the service is horrible. Would never bring anyone there. Pros: spicy Cons: understaffed, unattentive, small portions more

Like being in Mexico. 2/26/2005

The decor and layout of this place really transports you to a typical hole-in-the-wall in Mexico. Peppers, lights & pinatas hanging everywhere, loud music, loud colors etc... But I liked it! I thought it really set the tone for the meal. I had the roast pork special and it was terrific. The salsas are hot! The margaritas are tasty and go down easily. The service is hit and miss. This place gets very busy. A nice break from the chain places that are popping up all over. Anyone who has an open mind and a sense of adventure should give this boisterous, casual mexican eatery a try. Pros: Funky Decor, Cold Margaritas Cons: Spotty Service more

Garlic Roast Pork do die for! 9/12/2004

If you order ONE thing, order the Garlic Roast Pork. I've never had a pork dish that made my mouth water, but this is it! You must try it. Pros: garlic roast pork, cheap beer Cons: , funky decor more

Some like it hot 5/14/2004

That's what it says on the sidewalk outside this place, right next to a painting of the New Mexico flag. This should clue you in that you're about to enter the cult of the chile, and these people like their chiles. You'll figure that out when they bring your chips and salsa (along with a pitcher of water). Its very hot, and I have a tolerance to the effects of the capsaicin in chiles. I always get the machaca burrito. Its hot, too. Fortunately the plate I order comes with a side of sour cream, which definitely dulls the effects of chiles (hint: capsaicin is insoluble in water, so that pitcher does less good than a good dollop of cream). The beans are somewhere between mashed and whole, and are silky in texture. They taste good, too. Beware the margaritas: theyre extra strong. Bring a sober friend. Pros: Machaca, Salsa, Stiff margaritas Cons: , Not for wimps more
