  • In Short
Named after Rome's famed gladiator arena, the Los Angeles Coliseum is a true sports-park legend. Built in stages beginning in 1923 at a cost of nearly $1 million, the stadium has hosted several significant events, including the 1932 and 1984 summer Olympic Games and the first Super Bowl. It's been designated a national and state historic landmark, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
