Mmmm...Classic Diner Perfection! 6/1/2011

This was the first restaurant I went to on my recent trip to SF with some classmates. If you're looking for a classic diner with great, fresh food, amazing breakfasts, and mouth-watering malts, you've found it. more

Enjoyed it 11/22/2008

We went to this place, VERY child friendly, nice staff, the food was very good and reasonably priced (For San Francisco) but my pancakes were not the best. Everything else was satisfactory. Pros: Kid Friendly, nice staff, fun and friendly theme, nice clown downstairs:-) Cons: Pancakes not very good. Bitter, flat and cold syrup. more

Irresponsible waitress. Angry, yelling manager. Don't inquire where your order is. Eat at a place where customers are appreciated. Pros: food was okay Cons: bad service more

the best place to hang out when it's 12:00 o'clock in the morning 9/17/2006

Pros: the restaurant was great and good for kids to go back in the days of those years. more

blah 8/27/2006

I thought for a 50's diner this place would be alright if not good. I was disappointed with the staffs lack of energy or personality. The fries were dull, and my tuna melt sucked, it was just plain tuna toasted between 2 pieces of bread. No tomato, no flavor to the tuna or anything. I did like the coke freeze and i have a feeling their milkshakes are good too but other than that this place is a dive. Pros: sweet shakes Cons: food, service, atmosphere more

Great food! 8/20/2006

I was visiting San Fran and on my last day I wanted a good ol sandwich. I ran into Lori's Diner and ordered a Tuna Melt sandwich and boy was it good!!! Pros: Great food! Cons: Servers a little impatient. more

Great cheap eats 7/24/2006

I ate here several times while staying at the Chancellor Hotel just down the street. Breakfasts were large, tasty and served promptly. Lunch menu was expected diner fare, done well. And dinner was fine - meatloaf, chicken, salads, etc. Anyone can find something to his liking on this menu. Not gourmet, but good old-fashioned American grub. Service was fine, price was definitely right. Pros: Price, comfort food menu Cons: Decor (cheesy 50s diner style) more

Consistently, reliably good food 7/3/2006

Large diner menu, and everything is done up right. The place doesn't have tons of personality (though believe me, it tries). It seems chain-like--you're garden variety 1950s mock diner. The service is a bit sketchy. But again, you'll probably be happy with the quality/quantity of your food. Pros: Reliably good food Cons: Not tons of personality more

Mmmm, breakfast... 11/26/2004

I had a delightful breakfast here. We was seated promptly and our food was ready in less than 10 minutes. I had the veggie omelette with hash browns, which was awesome. Flavorful and not greasy, unlike some places. I would recommend this spot for a quick breakfast. Haven't tried the burgers yet, maybe next time. Great place for families with kids. I'm sure they'll enjoy the fun atmosphere. Pros: value, food, service more

Do it up!! 1/20/2003

It was a pleasure dinning at Lori's. The food was wonderful, the service was outstanding, and the ambience delightful. Pros: Inexpensive, Fast Service, Excellent Food Cons: Work on less grease i more

Few choices late a night 9/18/2002

As one of the few 24 hour diners in the Union Square area, this is a decent late night choice, but its not very clean and the service is not very attentive. The food is average diner food, but when you're out late and your hungry, what's a guy to do? more

Where's our waitress? 6/2/2002

We had abysmal service at this restaurant. The staff was too busy filling ketchup bottles and salt and pepper shakers! The orange freeze milkshake was very good though. Good chili cheese fries too. Pros: Menu Cons: Service more
