Best

I have been to Lorenzo's a few times, and every time i go - i leave there delightfully full and IMPRESSED. This last time we went on Friday, and were treated exceptionally wel...

Worst

As a disclaimer, as far as Italian ristorante's are concerned, I grew up in New York and recently spent 4 years living in Italy, so I can judge italian ristorante's a little harsh...

Great Place 3/31/2006

it is small but it serves good Italian food. This place has been around for over 40 years -- a family run business. The service is great. Rick, the owner, is a frindly guy, definitely loves his food. Never trust a skinny chef. more

sit with your back to the wall(hee hee) 3/26/2006

great food for both the carnivore and vegetarian alike-the pasta with marinara sauce is fabulous-other favorites are the artichoke pellicci(sp?)and spinach pizza-enjoy the dish or sleep with the fish more

I found my home away from home! 1/29/2006

Great Italian food with a decent staff, affordable, and reminds me of the eateries you find up north. The VEAL ribeye was the best veal I believe I have ever tasted, and the glass of malbec wasn't too bad either! Al Martino on the radio really topped it all though! Pros: price, music, wine selection Cons: noisy, parking more

Excellent Food 10/14/2005

I read about Lorenzo's online so when I got to San Antonio it was the first place I went to eat. And boy the reviews were right. The food was excellent. I had the manicotti and it was delicious. The whole staff was so friendly. They made me feel right at home. And they even had the Penn State vs Ohio State game on which I was thought I was going to miss completely but got to catch a bit of it. (I'm a PSU Alumni). I would recommend Lorenzo's to anyone to visiting the San Antonio area. Pros: great food, inexpensive Cons: a little small more

Love it! 10/5/2005

Check out the pizza, it's AWESOME! The Eggplant, the lasagne and the marinara sauce are also amazing. Did I mention the Pistachio Pie? WOW!!! and don;t forget to take the oppurtunity to try some of the wines. Samples are offeredand the featured wine is always worth checking out. the specials on the weekends are always posted on their website Pros: FOOD!!!, value, desserts more

Probably the best Italian restaurant in SA 9/26/2005

I have been frequenting this restaurant for many years. The service is always great and the food, even better. The prices are fair and there is a great selection...great wine list too. Do not leave without trying the Pistachio Pie...TO DIE FOR! Pros: Great food & service, Small and cozy, Pistachio Pie! more

THE BEST YOU'LL FIND FOR A GREAT PRICE 8/6/2005

The food at this cozy little restaurant is the best around. You can go to other places and pay over $20 per plate and not get the quality. They have vegetarian dishes that are absolutely AMAZING! The Artichoke Pellicci is to die for and the Spinach Pizza is unbelievable. The young ladies that wait tables at night are so helpful and sweet, always anticipating every need. It's an awesome New York style place but with a nicer staff! Pros: Price, FOOD QUALITY!!!, Service more

Fresh, Flavorful and Reasonable !! 6/13/2005

My husband and I found this place on the web, using this site, and wanted something a little out of the ordinary. We happened to go on a Tuesday night, right before they were closing. They welcomed us as if we were the first customers of the day! We both had the Special on the board, Fuzzilli(?) with Grilled Chicken and Pesto Cream sauce, and it was the freshest and tastiest dish we have ever enjoyed! Starting with the salad and rolls and ending with a piece of pistachio cake! And the price was right, under fifty dollars, and that included a nice bottle of a Texas white wine! Pros: The Chef, Location, Food Cons: not good for groups, Hours more

GOOD FIND 6/12/2005

Best pizza I have ever had! You've got to try the Spinach Pizza! Just right, not too much spice and just the right amount spinach! Pros: pizza, desserts, staff Cons: parking, hard to find more

Totally Awesome 4/3/2005

Our office recently had our weekly lunch out at Lorenzos and it was totally awesome! Everyone in the group just raved about how good the food was! And the service by our young waitress was really unexpectedly fantastic, considering they were packed with other customers. We will definately be going back for more! Pros: service, price, location Cons: TOO SMALL more

an experience like no other! 3/25/2005

I was told by a friend about this little resturant so i figured i'd give it a try. To my surprise the food was outstanding not to mention the waitstaff. It's a good place to come and have a romantic dinner with that significant one. One things for sure iam definitely coming back to this fabulous restaurant, the only problem i could say about it, is having trouble deciding which dinner to chose. more

A real find! 3/7/2005

My date and I had a wonderful time in this little place. We had reservations at another Italian restaurant down the road ,but they said it would still be an hour, so we left and saw this little sign that said Lorenzo's and gave it a try. What a surprise ! The food was absolutely marvelous and the staff was great! It is a small place and we could hear the pots and pans cooking, as well as the cooks talking, we could even hear and smell the garlic sizzling in the pan for our pasta with olive oil! We very much enjoyed the whole experience, and will definately go back! Pros: food, decor, wine Cons: a little noisy, parking lot more

Average food, unpleasant experience 2/22/2005

The food was average, nothing special. The problem was the screaming and yelling of the chef. It's a very small place for the chef to be screaming at the kitchen employees. I would not go back, it made myself and my date very uncomfortable. Pros: Inexpensive Cons: Noise level, Crowded more

Best in San Antonio 6/24/2004

I consider Rick and the wonderful staff at Lorenzos part of the family. My wife and I have been faithful customers since our 7 yr. old daughter was born! You can't compare the food and service to other place in town. more

Love , Italian Style 6/19/2004

Small and cozy , this is definately one of my favorite places to eat . A good wine list and great pie add to the dining pleasure, including the best lasagna and chicken pasmesan I've ever had . Prices are reasonable and the service is pretty good. It gets a little crowded, but the food and service don't ever seem to suffer. The place reminds me of the little Italian places found all over up East. Family operated and cozy. Pros: lasagna, pizza, wine Cons: , sometimes noisy more

ITALIAN FOOD AT IT'S BEST!! 8/19/2003

EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS RESTURANT IS OUTSTANDING. WAITSTAFF IS EXCELLENT IN A PROFESSIONAL MANNER. THE FOOD IS ALWAYS HOT AND FRESH, AS WELL AS HOMEMADE. THE RESTURANT ITSELF IS A LITTLE SMALL, BUT THAT JUST GIVES YOU ALL THE MORE ATTENTION. OUT OF A SCALE OF ONE TO TEN, I GIVE THIS PLACE A 12!!! Pros: GENEROUS PORTIONS, EXCELLENT WAITSTAFF, COZY ENVIROMENT Cons: ONLY ONE IN TOWN more

Great Food 8/22/2002

I have eaten at Lorenzo's for years, and have yet to be disappointed with the food. Having tried almost everything on the menu, I would recommend Lorenzo's for anyone in search of good Italian food. Bread and salads come with all of the meals, and the portions are generous. I always leave home with left overs. The place itself is tiny, so not a good choice for large parties, but overall, the delicious food has kept me going time and time again. Pros: large portions Cons: small place more

Best lasagna ever! 7/22/2002

Not only is the lasagna excellent, almost everything on the menu is superb. Top off your meal with a piece of chocolate walnut pie, and your only regret will be having eaten too much great food. more
