First, the Cedar Park receptionist is rude and unprofessional. Second, make sure your kid gets the grades from the instructor.... they DO NOT tell you when they are failing and ne...

Editorial review from Citysearch 4/2/2013

I can't recommend this school. The classroom instruction was fine, but scheduling driving times is absolutely horrible. I will not use this school for my younger kids when they are ready for their permit. more

Editorial review from Citysearch 10/16/2012

It is very difficult to get driving times for Longhorn Driving School. A new schedule comes out every Tuesday at 12pm. I scheduled my day (cancelled things) to make sure that I could register my teenager. 12:04...ALL driving times were filled for the next week. I called the company and they told me next Tuesday to sign in at 11:50am and refresh at 12pm so I would be able to schedule a class. more

BEST DRIVING SCHOOL AROUND!! 11/13/2011

Our experience with Longhorn Driving School has been GREAT!! We decided to send our daughter during the summer. She was not happy! She thought that parent taught was the way to go because that is what all her friends were doing. With the laws changing we believed this was the best choice. Everyone there from Mrs. Barbara in the classroom to Tonya that helped us out with scheduled driving sessions and Coach Mac and Coach Huff the driving instructors were very professional, informative and helpful. Our daughter said she was very greatful for going to Longhorn Driving School, she is just 4 weeks away from getting her license and her friends that did parent taught are nowhere near as close to getting their licenses! We believe that now she will go on to be a patient and safe driver thanks to the wonderful people at Longhorn Driving School. more

Adult Instruction- Excellent Instructor, Got My License 8/5/2011

My experience with longhorn driving school was very good. To get my license, all i had to do was take a 6 hour course at the driving school, and then lessons with the instructor. My instructor, Scott, was extremely helpful and didactic, but not too overbearing. I felt safe driving with him watching me and telling me the general do's and don'ts of the road. My confidence on has increased tremendously due to his lessons, and i passed my road test at the DPS, and now have a license. If you need to learn to drive and get your license, i would highly recommend going through longhorn driving school, its a good investment for sure! (And be sure to get Scott as your instructor!) more

Totally Professional is the truth. 7/8/2011

I am a parent whose child is attending Longhorn Driving School at this moment. I have had the opportunity to sit in the very comfortable lobby of the school while my child is attending the class being taught by Ms. Barbara. I have been able to witness every one of the 16 classes required by the state driver more

Dont go to Longhorn. Extremely unprofessional! 6/8/2011

Dont waste your time and energy at Longhorn. Not only are drive time impossible to get but the instructors and OWNERS are unprofessional. My child took side trips to fill up the gas tank, stop at convenience stores for snacks for the instructor, etc. My child was called an ""a**"" when he changed the radio. When I approached the instructor and the owner, Barb, I was told it was a ""rule"" not to touch the radio. When I asked if my child knew of this rule, the response was ""he doesnt need to know all the rules"". What?? Doesnt need to know the rules of the car your are teaching him to drive?? Just dont waste your time. Go to Austin Driving School! more

DONT GO TO LONGHORN-DRIVE TIMES ARE IMPOSSIBLE TO GET 4/13/2011

To anyone who is interested in enrolling at longhorn, my advice is NO! So i did the class and the driving with them about 5 months ago, and i'm still trying to get my drive times done (7) and still to this day i have barley gotten 4. and when i say barley i mean getting the last open slot, me and my family have been forced to be at the computer right the times they say are ""good"" 12 on Tuesdays and 6 on Thursday. And if you not on right at those times, I MEAN RIGHT ON THE DOT, you will not get A drive time. They dont have enough driving instructors and they seem to make us think its are faults. austin driving school is the way to go if you live in the cedar park area. but by all means, go to longhorn.... and you can be just like us and have to fight for drive times. more

Adult Training at this school is superb! 3/20/2011

I was really put out with the new requirements for this adult 6 hour class we are MADE to take. At first I was just down right mad! I was determined to learn to drive on my own. But Mr. Mike has been my driving instructor since I took the class and boy have I learned a lot from both him and the work we did in the classroom. I am REALLY wanting to be a good driver but now I know there is so much I could never know on my own. I do recommend this adult class and Mr. Mike as your instructor if you really want to learn driving and not just pass the test. But I did pass...and on the first try, too! Thank you Mr. Mike and Longhorn Driving School! more

Very Pleased Parent 3/12/2011

I have been so impressed with Longhorn Driving School. The owners and the employees have gone out of their way to help my daughter become a safe driver. The instruction was fun but she learned so much! Behind the wheel lessons were calm but professional, which was great for a nervous first time driver. As a parent, there was always someone that I could talk with to get questions answered as well as good tips and suggestions for helping my daughter progress and improve. more

Best place to learn driving 3/9/2011

According to me the best place to learn driving is Long Horn. The instructor(Mr.Scott) was so good and kind and thought me driving with lot of patience. Thank you Long Horn & Scott. more

Saved me from gray hair...great place! 2/17/2011

I compared pricing, staff attitude, location, cleanliness, cars, and decided this would be great for our teen son. We were not disappointed. These are real teachers and coaches; my high schooler actually enjoyed the classroom instruction, moved smoothly into driving. All pricing was up front, no surprises. They worked with us on drive times; I can't address the computer system. They try to accommodate home schoolers and those with special schedules. Phone calls were returned promptly. For us it was not only painless but a pleasure to deal with them. My son is now ready to drive safely and confidently. more

Worst Driving School!!!!! never go here 2/1/2011

This is the worst driving school so please dont waste your money. So I had my spouse enrolled for the auto driving training with Mike from this school. This guy is so irresponsible and a huge slacker that for a 4 course driving class for my spouse he has extended the training and its still going on. He will keep on postponing the dates and he is a man full of excuses like 1. Oh today my wife is sick 2. Oh today I lost my cellphone 3. Oh today I am overbooked These are just few of his excuses that I have faced. He is utterly irresponsible, no jest of teaching and the worst trainer and driving school. Please please dont waste your money!!!! more

Longhorn Driving School 7/2/2010

Our son attended a different driving school that was dirty and poorly run so we were dreading going through the experience with our daughter. A friend recommended Longhorn Driving School so I called to begin the process to see if we wanted to send our daughter there. We have been completely satisfied with their professionalism and ability to communicate and answer any questions we might have. Drive times have been very easy to schedule and last but not least the school is clean, comfortable and welcoming. I would not hesitate to recommend Longhorn Driving School. Pros: Professional, Easy to Communicate With, Very Clean Cons: No cons. more

Great school for our family! 6/14/2010

My son just finished his driving requirements with Longhorn Driving School. Someone mentioned to me about the remarks on this site so I checked it out. I want to say ""Thank You"" to Longhorn Driving School by writing my own thoughts. The service at this school was really outstanding. We have experienced two other driving schools in Texas with my other kids...one was out of town and the other was another local school. I can tell you that Longhorn stands far and above the other schools with their service to our family. And about the scheduling...finding drive times to fit our special needs has been the greatest challenge at all of the driving schools we have used. At Longhorn, all we had to do was follow the directions that were plainly given as to how and when to find drive times. It worked for us. We had a problem only one time, and when we phoned the office, they helped us work it out. We especially appreciated the professionalism of every driver. My son is driving now with great skill. Thank you, Longhorn Driving School! Pros: Outstanding drivers and over the top office staff Cons: wish they had been closer to my house more

AVOID LONGHORN DRIVING SCHOOL 4/29/2010

My daughter recently attended LDS... the classroom training was fine.... but watch out when it comes to trying to book the actual in car drive time training.... you HAVE to be in front of a computer at a certain time and day of the week, or forget it ASK FIRST Even if you can do that, the times disappear so fast... In six weeks, I was able to book ONE Lesson, which was a time someone else cancelled. Cons: NEAR IMPOSSIBLE TO GET DRIVE TIMES more

One Major Flaw 10/6/2009

My oldest son went to Longhorn Driving under the old management and we never had a problem. The ""new"" owners are really great too and my daughter went there this past summer. My biggest issue is scheduling the drive time. My daughter finished up the classroom part in mid-August and has not yet had a chance to drive! Nothing is ever open....... I am very frustrated, and so is she, because she feels like she is forgetting information because she cannot utilize it. I have called twice before about this situation and was very patient and understanding, and I am placing a call today about the hinky system they use. If I do not get a good response, I will be back on here later today with an update.......... Pros: friendly people Cons: scheduling driving time more

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED : GOOD VISION AND EXCELLENT SERVICE 6/15/2009

6 months ago we moved from Dallas to Pflugerville and started searching for driving school for myself. I am 37 years old and had no experience about driving back in my country, my husband thought me how to drive for a while but getting lessons from family member is not always the best thing to do. I am nervous about driving so I need a professional one to get me thru all this fear . I searched and searched and searched? I checked their reviews before I even make a call. A lot of driving schools out there and they have their own real reviews from real people who had their lessons from them. Upon reading reviews, called several places for an instructor from the search results and fortunately I got connected with a nice and very accommodating lady at Longhorn Driving School. At first I am hesitant to call them because they have bad reviews year 2008 but I call them anyway just to give it a try. AND THIS IS I FOUND OUT AFTER MY PRODUCTIVE AND VERY EXCITING LESSONS WITH LONGHORN DRIVING SCHOOL.. ( CEDAR PARK AND GEORGETOWN ) ABOUT THE BAD REVIEWS: DISREGARD THEM BECAUSE?. NOTE: THIS IS THE REALITY, LONGHORN DRIVING SCHOOL NOW IS UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT ALL BAD REVIEWS LAST YEAR ARE RESULTS OF THE OLD MANAGEMENT THAT HIRED A RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL INSTRUCTOR. THE NEW MANAGEMENT NEED TO WAIT FOR A BOUT A MONTH BEFORE THEY CAN TERMINATE THE OLD INSTRUCTOR EMPLOYMENT BECAUSE IT IS AGAINST THE LAW NOT TO GIVE UNQUALIFIED EMPLOYEE A MONTH OF TIME TO LOOK FOR A NEW JOB. GOOD THING THE NEW MANAGEMENT OF LONGHORN WAS ABLE TO FIX THAT PROBLEM AND THEY GAVE THAT BAD INSTRUCTOR A CONSIDERATION LET HIM STAY FOR A MONTH TO PUT HIS SELF TOGETHER AND BE A BETTER INSTRUCTOR, WELL WHO KNOWS WHAT HAPPEN TO THAT RUDE INSTRUCTOR. THE GOOD THING IS MIKE HARDY TOOK OVER THE JOB AND HE IS THE BEST EVER DRIVING INSTRUCTOR THAT YOU COULD EVER HAVE. HE WILL WORK WITH YOU ALL THE WAY AND?.NEW MANAGEMENT IS EXCELLENT AND THEY ARE NICE PEOPLE INCLUDING THEIR STAFF. IT?S NOT ALL ABOUT ? YOU PAYING THEM IT IS THEM GET YOU THERE AND MAKE YOU A BETTER DRIVER ? I am lucky to come across with Mike Hardy definitely the BEST INSTRUCTOR that could have for. The wife of Mike Hardy who took my call that day was very friendly and polite. That alone made me decided to make an appointment with them and everything is history on how I successfully got my DRIVER?S LICENSE. LONGHORN QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Professional, Patience, Cool, Respectful instructor ( Mike Hardy ) 2. Reasonable Fee 3. Flexible Schedules 4. Good Staff 5. Nice Car 6. Very detailed and extensive 4 lessons 7. Tips on how to deal with the test 8. Actual Practice of Test 9. Motivational Skills 10. Very effective preparation before the test 11. Detailed Instructions on what to do 12. Organized Paper Works and Documentation 13. Name it and they have it. I made a lot of mistakes during my last practice before the test because I am really nervous that time, I am the first one to take the test and at about around 9:15 am. I need to be in line, my heart really beating so fast but Mike gave me the confidence and told me that everything is going to be alright. It is all with you when you are about to take the test but you will going to be fine if you will make yourself relax and remember what Mike thought you in the practice. And by the way take your test at DPS-Georgetown TX because the testing area is friendly than the one in Research Blvd. and the examiner ( Jane ) is really nice and gentle. I want to thank you Mike for being part of my journey in getting my Drivers License. I had a very exciting and excellent experience with you. If you need Driving lessons don?t even think twice call them right away and they will take care of you. Chona Thornton of Pflugerville Pros: THE BEST DRIVING INSTRUCTOR EVER ( MIKE HARDY ) Cons: DON'T EVEN THINK 2X CALL THEM NOW more

Mike is best instructor from Longhorn! Live long Mike!! 5/1/2009

We moved to Austin and searching for driving school for my wife. She had a little experience about driving, but very nervous for driving. I called several places for an instructor from the search results and fortunately got connected with a lady at Longhorn Driving School. She took my phone number and told about Mike. Mike called me and we discussed about my wife driving lessons. He assured me - within 4 lessons - your wife will get license. I was surprised, but told him to come for the first day. He drove all the way to our Southwest Austin apartment from Cedar Park, and took her to the freeway. I was sitting back and scared a little bit. For the very first lesson - she had a very good experience and confidence. Mike is very patience, cool, and good standard of teaching. Next time, we went to Georgetown DPS and had a practice of actual test. We had another session and finally on 4th day, my wife passed the test and got license. Many thanks Mike for your help! Pros: Patience, Cool, Good preparation for pass the test more

Excellent! 1/15/2009

Excellent sums it all! My wife went to this school and she liked everyone very much. I also dealt with Mike and Barbara, and they are very nice people. Mike took my wife to far away DMV for driving test even thought we had one 4miles away...without any question. We also came to know that almost all old people are out...especially Horton. Good for everyone! Pros: Professional, very helpful.... more

Good driving instructor 12/16/2008
