Great, Well Price Food 12/16/2005

The menu has interesting options and seasonal soups. The food selections are well priced and served with style. The bar offers some unique beer selections and always has great mixed drinks. Late night the dance scene does seem to be crowded and a bit boring, but the food is great. more

Once the pride of Philly, now a bit too ghetto, collegey 9/13/2005

This place use to be the BOMB! Great hiphop, good looking crowd. Now, the dance floor is always packed and the crowd is never looking good. What happened? I think they got rid of all the good DJs. Now the music is a mix, which pleases no one. Sunday nights are known for good hiphop. But the crowd makes you want to leave and head to Tragos. Good luck, that place has gone downhill too. Just pray that one of the grad schools is having a party at Loie. At least then there will be some women. more

Mingling and Dancing in Center City 8/17/2005

Loie, a vaguely French-themed bar, is a popular hangout near Rittenhouse Square for the young professional crowd. On weekends, a DJ spins top 40 and 80s music in the bar and people dance in the small back dance floor. There are also two pool tables in the back. It is fairly upscale and popular on the weekends with prices that are neither cheap nor expensive. It can be crowded occasionally but unlike other places that offer dancing (the dance floor is very small but adequate) it never charges cover. It also appears to be a popular place for singles to meet and mingle. more
