Noelle has been cutting my hair for the past 8 years. The fact that I followed her to Loft 26 and have continued with her despite moving out of state is a testament to what a great stylist she is. She knows her clients, their needs and is not afraid to voice an opinion to an occasional outlandish request [Noelle - you know what I'm talking about ;) ]\r \r The cut is PERFECT each and every time and my hair grows out beautifully. I am yet to have a - ""I need a haircut"" - look. I get compliments even 6 months later and the only reason I go back is either because I am bored of the look or the weight of my hair gets to me. \r \r And oh..Noelle is so much fun to chat. Its never a dull moment with her. Loft 26 is a pretty cool place. To say that I am extremely particular about my color is the understatement of the century. Loren blessed my color about 5 years ago and I've never looked back. Passing strangers literally grab me by the arm to ask who does my highlights. I have sent every friend I have to her and now we are all Loren junkies! I haven't lived in NY for over 4 years now and I still drive over 3 hours from Maryland to get my fix of Loren's gift. My natural color is brunette, but I like to live my life as a beachy blonde. My highlights are tasteful, classy, and bombshell gorgeous! Loren never compromises the health of my hair in the process either. I have had too many horrible memories of colorists deep frying my hair; not to mention, everytime I went for a touch up, I just kept getting lighter and lighter. They did not want to take the time and meticulous effort needed to preserve my color without over processing. In addition, with Loren, I can let my roots go for months and never have a blunt line of root growth. They grow out so naturally and flawlessy, its rather incredible. Loren is professional, a pleasure to be around, and second to NONE in her trade. I absolutely adore Loft 26! It's such a beautiful space, the staff is super talented and friendly, and my hair has never looked better. I'm super picky when it comes to hair salons and have tried several in the City. It's hard to find a place that checks all the boxes. Some places are great for cuts, others for color, others for style...lots of places have stressful atmospheres or lots of staff turnover...but Loft 26 is the total package. It's a one stop shop for all your beauty needs! I see Stacey and Loren and both ladies are beyond talented. In addition, they are experts when it comes to reading their clients and catering to their individual needs. For example, I'm from the South and I love big, curly hair and Stacey seriously spends at least 30 minutes after a cut setting my hair in rollers or curling it with a curling iron and shaping it to perfection. You get the sense that they truly care about their clients as friends, not just customers. Every time I go I leave feeling pampered, gorgeous and perfectly happy. If you're looking for a new salon (or thinking about cheating on your current stylist) look no further than Loft 26!!! more

Frizzy curls?! Yup, got'em! I used the blow drier, flat iron, and tons of straightening balm each and every time I did my hair. The result was split ends that went to the root, and hair that just stopped growing. I booked an appointment with John thinking it was just going to be my once a year thing, on the contrary! John explained to me exactly what I was doing wrong, and walked me through the correct maintenance of my hair down to the products I should be using. I've had two Keratin Coppola treatments with him, a Phyto Hair Treatment, and two haircuts in less than a year. He's helped me to appreciate and LOVE my hair, and the best part is that the frizz is gone and it's growing again. My hair's NEVER looked this good! Thanks, John! more

I have curly and kind of frizzy hair. I used to get lifebooker, groupon, and gilt city deals and go to different places to cut, condition, and blow-dry my hair. I found Loft 26 through Lifebooker. Since then I go to cut my hair only there. John is great! My curls never looked more sophisticated. I never liked to blow-dry my hair. Most of the salons I have been to, use too much heat. I was always worried about the damage. John gives me the most gentle blow- dry I have ever experienced, and he never rushes it. + their products are amazing. I am very happy I found that place! more

Loft 26 is true to its name. The salon is in a beautiful airy loft space that, even on Saturdays when it's really busy, still feels very spacious. I've been going to the salon for a few years now and have always found the staff friendly and professional. Also, this may seem like a minor detail but the hair washing sinks are amazing. They are designed to completely support your head so you don't strain your neck during the wash. I followed my stylist Noelle here from her previous salon. Noelle was recommended to me by a friend as a great stylist for curly hair. I haven't been disappointed! About a year ago I was ready for a change and Noelle suggested a short style. She took my lifestyle into consideration (I wanted something quick and low maintenance) and gave me a cut that looks great with very little effort on my part. She's the first stylist I've had who I felt took not only my hair but my personality into consideration when cutting my hair. more

I've been going to Noelle for several years and followed her here from another salon, and can't say enough about her. Amazing skills, always gives me exactly what I want, and my hair is curly and probably not the easiest to cut. She is the only person I've ever been to who consistently gives me great cuts. The salon is beautiful too, very relaxing, the sink chairs are the best! more

Jon Gerard of Loft 26, has been styling my hair for over 15 years. I have had every cut and color imaginable -- always looking for that edge and a fresh look. I recently purchase a gilt coupon for a hair cut and blow out at Loft 26,and let me tell you I was very impressed with the stylist Angie and the location. Angie listened to my concerns and needs, end result the best hair cut I have had in years, she very attentive and sweet and I must say her blow out was fabulous!!!! It has been impossible for me to find someone who does my hair the way I envision it. After years of disappointments and wasted money, I have finally found the most amazing colorist!!!! I love this salon. I see John Gerard Griffith and he is great. What I love about his work is that he listens to your needs and he understands hair texture. He gives me a style that I like and that makes me feel great, and that also works with my hair and so is not too high maintenance for me. Too often I've walked out of salons with gorgeous hair only to never have it look nice again after I wash it. Not with John. After John's cut, morning routines are quick, and a glamorous look is achievable without a major time investment. more

Bought the Groupon deal for the keratin treatment. Was very happy with it. Have gone to some other salons since for keratins, but none were worth it. I will be returning to Loft 26 exclusively from now on. They are great! more

I made an appointment for this past MONDAY 6/6/11 when I couldn't originally get a desired one for any of summer hair months I desired I went to the next year. I saw an attempt to contact me two weeks ago, but no message. Monday came I called before leaving for my scheduled appointment and there was a message machine on as they were closed!!!!! I called again as I thought I heard no Monday scheduling in their message, they changed their days of operation after selling 1000 groupons excluding Mondays since last year, I left a second message indicating just that. I was called back shorly thereafter stunned and was told they were doing something to the store and needed to ventilate, still 'not' owning the change of operation days. I not given any accommodation what so ever!!!! I am not sure who she was, but I made plans and that included time for Coppola Kerratin process then two weeks later color and then and grand affair of travel plans- Plans to laugh I see. I tried to get a re scheduled appointment for anytime for the next four days as I was the one inconvenienced, all reasonable requests especially waiting for almost a year for this timely event...Her attempt was to give me an appointment on a Sunday weeks from now..or on a day where the staff would be fill ins for appointments... never to do a Coppola Keratin treatment on your hair! She claimed that she would try and rearrange some schedules of others to accommodate me, SHE NEVER CALLED ME BACK AT ALL! That woman was awful to me, I WASTED MY VALUED TIME, NOT EVEN A RETURN PHONE CALL!!! I wrote to them from their website and also no response. This is abhorent for a business to do and I am FURIOUS...! These are services I 'PAID' for already! I would NOT trust people who lack respect and care nothing for someone they have essentially harmed. I have never been treated so poorly. I am stunned and screwed... for Services I already paid for, and appointment I already scheduled and only couldn't imagine having to alter a scheduled appointment so such a degree. I would think twice or even a bit more before making an appointment here. Everything I have read regarding the owner Stacey Weinstein is not what this experience has shown me... Rosalie MB more

I had my first cut and keratin coppola treatment with John at Loft 26 days before my wedding and it made my hair so smooth and beautiful I barely had to style it on the big day! John is a great stylist who really listens to what you want and gives you a cut that people will notice. I asked for long layers which is shockingly easy for some people to mess up and his cut was perfect and I barely have to do anything to make it look good on a normal day. I just scheduled my next Keratin treatment and can't wait to get my hair frizz free for the summer. I would definitely recommend John and Loft 26 if you're looking for a new stylist and salon. more

After many failed horrible haircuts, John Gerard Griffith finally brought my hair back to life. I have very long fine hair and a lot of stylists try to over style my hair, making it difficult to handle on my own. John not only made me feel so comfortable but gave me the best hair cut I have had in years. Save yourself all of the wasted tears and come to John, I cannot recommend him enough. more

I started going to Loft 26 over a year and a half ago and they are quite the talented crew! John and Stacey are not only technically skilled, but they will collaborate with you for your cut EVERY visit to make sure you leave happy. It's easy for a stylist to fall into a pattern with clients and inherently cut your hair the same way over and over again. A true artist will probe the client to see how they felt AFTER their last cut. In a sense they are taking a step back before moving forward. As for color, Loren really gave me a different perspective on what I could do with my hair. For years whenever I played around with coloring my hair, my colorists always insisted I go lighter (aka either working blonde into my hair, or going platinum all together) because of my fair complexion. Upon explaining that to Loren, and my growing curiosity to go darker, we went for it and she did a fantastic job! The resulting color wasn't quite black, but still darker and richer then a dark brown. True, I have VERY white skin (especially in winter), but I also have light eyes and the color complimented both of those traits better then any color I've had before. If you've got the budget, you'd be dumb not to become a Loft 26 client! more

i was referred to this salon from my stylist in san francisco, and i'm very fortunate i was ! i was in serious need of a haircut, and john gerard griffith came to my rescue with flying colors ! i went in with an idea for my hair, and a photo from a fashion magazine. i had a foundation, and from there john immediately envisioned and conceptualized the look to suite my personality, expression and facial structure. now everyone notices & talks to me in the new york nightlife, and my friends think i'm better looking than that lame chanel supermodel from the photo i brought into the salon. where do i sign up for an agency ? i'm ready to conquer the world ! more

I have never been truly happy with my hair color experiences and I have had difficulty in find ing a colorist that can actually ""execute"" their vision for coloring my hair. I have sat in many chairs and have been disappointed, maybe I am too picky.....thank goodness, that is no longer the case. I heard about Shane Thomas thru an business acquaintance who told me of her experience with Shane and said ""he's worth every penny and more""....boy was she right! I was skeptical, at first but Shane totally hit the mark! I am so happy with the results and have finally found someone who ""knows"" how to make me look like a million bucks.....and he's so cute! more
