I just thought that after seeing some of the negative reviews written about Lofgren's, it would be helpful to give my positive account.

It is amazing to me to see how this company stays in business. When I ordered a bed in August they told me it would arrive in Houston, Texas in six to eight weeks. October came and still no bed so I started calling only to be told for several weeks and by several different people that it would be there the next week. Another annoying thing is that they almost never called back to follow up. Finally one of the owners said the bed had been shipped in November but it never arrived. After a lot more phone calls they told me variously that it was possibly in New Mexico, that it was still coming, and finally, that it was simply lost. Shortly after Thanksgiving they claimed to have shipped a second bed and promised to refund the shipping cost, but it, too, never arrived. They also did not refund the money for shipping. However, I actually did get a tracking number this time was able to contact the shipping company who told me a package with that number was going to Cambridge, Massachusetts. I then gave up on them and asked for a full refund, which was promised but that I have still not gotten. \r more

GREAT FURNITURE / PROFOUND INCOMPETENCE\r Took 22 weeks for my couch to arrive. Lots of vague promises (It's almost here! Oh sorry. It's NOT here. Next week it will for sure be here!) I could never understand how they couldn't know where a $4000. couch was at any given time. At about week 15 I was told by Todd Lofgren (the owner's son) they would take $500. off the bill. When it did arrive (7 weeks later) Todd's father (Dave Lofgren) handled it and instead of taking ownership for the late arrival, launched into a sob story about how many demands were on the furniture industry right now. When I said Todd had offered a $500. discount he essentially called me a liar and said, ""The most they ever take off is 10%."" When I pointed out he was the owner and could give me any price he wanted he repeated, ""10% is what they do."" It was the final insult in a long line of\r frustrating, double messages I received from Lofgren's. You might love their furniture but be prepared to wait a very long time (in my case almost half a year) to receive it. DO expect casual indifference and lots of excuses as to why you've had to wait.\r more

Great Store, Great Service! \r \r I feel like so many of the negative reviews for this company must be from competition. My Husband and I purchased a new solid walnut bedroom set a couple of months ago and were quoted 5-6 weeks for arrival. The sales experience was wonderful. We both walked out of the store feeling as if we had just received an education on furniture manufacturing. The bedroom set we selected is actually made in Salt Lake City, not in China like almost everything else out there. \r \r At 4 weeks I got a little excited and called to check on my order. I was told that it should be finished up in about a week and we scheduled delivery for a week and a half later. The delivery went great and we could not be more pleased with our furniture. We even received a followup call from our sales person a week later to see if we had any questions and how we liked our furniture. If you like Contemporary Furniture, there is simply nothing else in Salt Lake like Lofgren's. more

Had a great experience overall-delivery subpar 4/21/2011

The main criteria we had when buying furniture for our basement was that it had to fit down a crazy staircase and be very comfortable. We bought our basement sectional, a table, and a decorative chair from Lofgrens and love the furniture. Very contemporary styling and so comfortable too! It is very expensive furniture compared to RC Willey but the quality is much better (at least on what we bought). The table was around $600 and was solid chestnut-no particle board! The only problem we had was that the first delivery person had some sort of chalk line on their person that left red stains on our white carpet. This was only in a few places and I didn't notice until well after they left. It also got on the couch but it brushed right off of that. The next delivery of the chair and table was uneventful. I chalk it up to s*** happens sometimes. I never mentioned it to the company or tried to have them fix it so that's my own fault for not trying to get that resolved. I will definitely be buying from them again. more

horrible experience 1/4/2011

I ordered a Maria Yee office armoire and was told i'd have it in 2 weeks. It took a month to arrive and had a huge crack in the top. i called and asked for a new one and them promised a week and after a month i still didnt have it so told then to just pick up the damaged one. They still haven't confirmed a pick up date and its been 3 weeks of calling constantly. Overall its bee a horribly time consuming and frustrating experience with very poor to no communication from there end. Save yourself the headache - seriously. There are so many other great options out there. more

Good furniture, Bad Service 8/19/2010

It's like a couple of the other reviews said?If it's in stock, you'll be happy, but if it's not then heaven help you. Delays, false hope, lack of communication, excuses, very very disappointing. It really doesn't seem like they care about customer service. If I had written the review after placing my in-stock order, I would have given 5 stars. But my custom orders were a nightmare. My advice: If it's not in stock, make them put down IN WRITING when you can expect delivery, then agree upon a discount or something if/when they don't come through on their promises. more

We've had furniture from Lofgren's in our home for more than 20 years. Some of it has been passed down from parent to child and is still in great working condition. Pros: Quality Furniture more

Worst customer service ever 8/28/2009

I ordered a sectional (very expensive), and was quoted 12-16 weeks. 14 weeks in, I was told that it would ship any day. Two weeks later, I was given a firm shipping date. That date came and went. At 19 weeks, I spoke to the manager, Todd Lofgren. While I waited on the line, he called the manufacturer. He told me that it had shipped and that he would try to get tracking info and call me back the next day. Never called back. Two days later, I called and he said he couldn't get ahold of the shipping company. I flat out asked: had it been ordered? ""yes""; was it made? ""yes""; has it shipped? ""yes"". A week later, talked to Todd again. He said he couldn't get shipping info because it was the manufacturer's shipper, not theirs. He even called down to the receiving dock to check if it had arrived. Pros: Great furniture Cons: Truth challenged customer service more

Great customer service, quality furniture 10/27/2008

I was totally impressed by Lofgren's. Their staff was top notch and extremely helpful. I was one who special ordered an item and had exactly what I ordered in just a few weeks. I will surely return when we need more furniture. In the meantime we'll enjoy our comfortable sectional sofa! Pros: Great Customer Service, Quality Furniture more

Below expectations for custom orders 10/1/2008

Unless they have product in inventory at their warehouse, never order from them! I ""purchased"" some furniture from Lofgren?s over 6 months ago that they said would take 4-6 weeks for delivery. Every time I call they say it's on the water and will take another 2-3 weeks until it arrives. After my last call when they said another 3 weeks I finally cancelled my order and found something else even better at another company that will be delivered to my house in 7 days. Not only were they giving me the run-around on my order but the sales staff including management are completely indifferent whether you order something from them or not. more

Quality, stylish furniture at reasonable prices 7/5/2008

I'm impressed with the quality of the furniture sold at Lofgren's, and the prices are reasonable compared to other furniture stores. The furniture is solid wood, covered with quality upholstery, and the salespeople are helpful and informative. We are a young family, and we finally found the contemporary furniture in a style that we enjoy that is durable enough for our family at Lofgren's. I expect this furniture to last a lifetime. Pros: Quality furniture, helpful staff Cons: Only one store location more
