Don't go here if you're male 8/20/2010

Last night I attempted to go to Lipstick Lounge with a couple of male friends, because we had had dinner across the street at Mad Donna's and just wanted to hang out for a while after dinner. When we attempted to go in, they tried to charge me a $10 cover and I also couldn't help but notice there was not a single man in the bar (not even a lesbian who looked like a man). We obviously did not go in, but when I came home and checked their website, it said the cover last night was $8. So they were attempting to charge us a $2 male premium and apparently taking further steps to keep all men out since no other men were there. I haven't had this problem before, because I've been to LIpstick Lounge a few times in the past. It's obviously changed for the worse at this point. "If you're human, you'll fit right in" is no longer the case. more

Karaoke 7/15/2009

You can sing your heart out here at the Lipstick Lounge. They've got about 50,000 tracks that you can sing along. This is the best place to showcase your singing talent if the bathroom is not enough. But if karaoke isn't your thing, simply hanging out with friends here is enough. Lipstick Lounge=fun Pros: fun! more

Crowded, but fun. 7/31/2008

I've been to the Lipstick on a few Saturday nights. It's crowded, and seating is very limited. However, the karaoke is a blast, and the room really gets into it. But, perhaps don't charge a cover for karaoke night, hmmm? more

We Had a Great Time 9/3/2007

We were visiting relatives in Nashville last weekend and ventured out to the Lipstick Lounge. We had so much fun that we stayed until closing. It was a very friendly crowd. We got to meet Christa and Jonda. Great ladies. Jonda gave us a tour of the newly renovated upstairs. They have television upstairs where we were able to see and hear the band downstairs. It was fun to be able to talk but keep a check on the action downstairs. We also played darts in their backroom. It is the nicest dart set up that I have ever seen. They are still working on renovating a private party room. I saw a new sofa in the shape of red lips so I know it should be a fun room. We will definitely go back the next time that we are in town. Pros: Great Atmosphere and Friendly Crowd. Parking. more

Best Karaoke in Nashville 11/12/2006

What a great place for Karaoke! LL has the best talent, very well run, and a great crowd for karaoke. Sometimes it does get a bet crowded late at night, but that's night life. I am a straight male and my girlfriend and I have always felt welcome and very comfortable there. The servers and bartenders have always been the best. It is an awesome reflection on the owners, they are fantastic and as much a part of the crowd. You may be sitting at the table next to them and not even know it. Pros: Karaoke, Trivia, and Great House Band Cons: Sometimes over crowded late at night! more

Great Place ! Everyone Welcome!!! 11/9/2006

My husband and I went last night and had a great time (even though I came in last place in the trivia game - guess I'm not "Jean the Trivia Queen" anymore). We felt welcome from the moment we walked in. Even though we were OBVIOUSLY hetero - we got a warm welcome and had a blast! Place got rockin' by 10pm and we stayed too long - hubby had to get up for work at 4:30 am - but it was worth it. The karaoke singers were fanatastic - but then again, this IS Nashville. We'll definitely be back next Thursday!!! Pros: no one is turned away or made to feel unwelcome Cons: got pretty croweded more

Best people Bar in Nashville 6/8/2006

When you walk in it gives you the feeling of a "Cheers", The employees know your name and your drink just after your first visit. I love to go there during happy hour just to unwind and talk with my friends. This is truly one of the most welcomed pubs around! The owners are the most talented and friendly people in the business. I have been to Lipstick about 20 times and it is a great little bar. One of the last times I was there they grabbed a girl from the audience to do a little karaoke thing. Come to find out it was Sky Taylor they pulled up there, so you just never know who you will see when you go. BTW...why is Sky Taylor not playing there regularly???? Male or Female - This is one hot spot 11/3/2005

The atmosphere is rockin'. As a gay male, I enjoy going to the lipstick for the atmosphere and fun without all the drama. It is relaxing upstairs, where you can sit and chat with friendly people or go downstairs and join the party. I highly recommend the Lipstick for a change from the typical gay bars around town. The lipstick lounge is by far the best bar in Nashville... I Love it... Ronda, Jonda, Crista, and Traci... are the absolute best... the bartenders are great... the wait staff is great. The single scene is in need of a few more single lesbian... so if your single come out... overall this bar is rockin. Thursdays at lipstick are the best. This is the kind of bar that gets you hooked all it takes is one time out and interaction with one of the owners... and you will be a regular patron.. Guarenteed... Best Lesbian Bar in Nashville!! 12/4/2004

I am a single lesbian in Nashville. This is far the best bar around for hanging out with friends and having dinner, playing trivia, and drinking. The owners are one in a million !! And they make you feel at home! I have been going there for about 6 months and I love it! The bartenders on every night is awesome but saturday nights I am amazed at the bartenders! it is so packed in there but they keep you not waiting. I highly recommend this place whether you are gayor a lesbian, single or taken. Bring your partner and come in. I also recommend if you are straight this is a cool hot spot. It is very classy! And thanks to the owners for making it so much more than just another dive gay bar! You gals ROCK!!!! more

the best damn bar in nashville! the ladies at lipstick welcome all with open arms. it doesn't hurt that the drinks are great, service is sassy and classy, and they are quickly snagging some of the best live entertainment around. as a bonus, they have the most entertaining karaoke i've ever listened to. well worth checking out. you won't be disappointed! more

Get thee to the Lipstick.... NOW! 6/12/2004

I just went back and... hot DAYUM that place was jumpin! Ronda & Jonda were rockin' the joint. Everybody... every age, gender, color, social status and preference... was having a fantastic time. I went back the next night for Karaoke and DJ Debra blew me away with her own soulful blues, while every singer who ponied up to the stage gave a really solid performance... you usually have to pay a lot more than $3 to see entertainment like this. So needless to say, the cover was VERY reasonable. The bar was WAY crowded, but the drinks were generous in both size and alcohol content. I had just two of their special cocktails, the "Gray Ghost," and I was IMPAIRED. 'Course, I didn't drive. I sobered up with some very respectable hot wings from the kitchen, and danced it off! A tight knit little bar with a great atmosphere. It has it's "type," but everyone seems welcome. No one really cares about any stereotypes... everyone's just there to have a good time. There's an amazing energy in the place that's very contagious, so it's hard not to have a good time. It's crowded, but there's an upstairs area if you need to escape all the people. Sitting is scarece, but it's such a sociable atmosphere that you don't feel like sitting down. I love this place. It's become a regular for me! I was a tad overdressed 1/16/2004

Ok, 1st thing you'll know on the weekend, it rocks-so know the door fee up front 'cuz you won't hear a thing the door person is saying. Downstairs it was packed, but it was all smiles. Upstairs is very relaxed. I was dressed for clubbing and I was completely over done for the atmosphere. It was almost completely jeans and black turtlenecks. Everyone was super friendly. The Lipstick Lounge is a friendly, upbeat, and inviting place to meet people, enjoy live entertainment, and for great Karoke with Deb! It's the only place I frequent. The owners are personable, attentive, and become great friends. They are the real deal. The staff really gets to know their guests, and are always a step ahead when anticipating what their guests need. Everyone is made to feel welcomed and appreciated.
