great find 7/14/2003

My husband and I stumbled in here for a late dinner on a Friday night and we're glad we did. The chips and salsa were very good as was the gold margarita (I'm sorry I didn't know about the lime shot). The service was very good, it was a little late so they had started shutting down and the floor mat that was carried through the dining area was slightly annoying. Our entree's were both very good and the waitress even brought me refried beans to try at no charge. The music was a little loud but with just the two of us it was fine - it was pretty late, so the bar crowd was already taking over. We wish we had gone back friday night instead of to a high priced well known Italian place in LODO that was terribly dissapointing. Pros: chips, fun/hip, staff Cons: a little loud more

Spicy & Cool 6/23/2003

I tried Lime for the first time last Friday evening. We were seated promptly and received good service throughout the evening. The ambience in this place is very hip. The bartenders seem to have a lot of fun. The margaritas were good as were the flour tortilla chips & salsa. I found the ""Scorpions"" a little too spicy for my taste, but the guacamole was good. I ordered the enchilada trio and was particularly pleased with the vegetarian one. The shrimp fajitas were also good. Prices were outstanding! Great place for happy hour. I would certainly go again. Pros: Good Margaritas, Inexpensive, Great Chips Cons: Parking more

Fun Bar 5/31/2003

Go for the chips and salsa- which should be hotter... If you can get past the pierced and tatooed people, they are actually nice and friendly. I would reccomend this spot for fast casual not really mexican food. The price is right. And the beers are cold. Pros: Cheap food, Fun Scene Cons: Too hip for some... more

Great Time At Lime 3/1/2003

My wife and I have been to Lime three times; once right after it opened and twice since then. All three times we've had prompt service, good food and excellent margaritas. We're vegetarians, so the few vegetarian entrees on the menu really appeal to us. Every time we've visited Lime the staff has been friendly and the place has been spotless. The griping reviewer who called the place ""Grime"" is out of her mind... Pros: Prompt service, Tasty food more

LIME SUCKIES 2/15/2003

Horrible horrible food. I was sooo looking forward to eating at this restaurant with my husband and in turn was soooooo completely disappointed. The scorpions (shrimp) tasted like they were old, very chewy. My tortilla soup was cold, and tasted like a can of soup was opened, poured into a bowl with a huge amount of water, and microwaved for a minute. My sangria along with the free deep fried chips were my only salvation. I will NEVER go to eat there again...if you want good mexican food go to Benny's instead. Pros: good free chips Cons: bad food, bad food, bad food more

the best deal on the square! 2/10/2003

I was at Lime last week and I have to say, I think this is the best deal in LODO! the food was fantastic, they have spiced it up a bit since the last time I was there! They gave us a taste of their new Mojito's and that was amazing! Can't wait until Summer, sitting on the patio and sipping some of those delicious libations! Service was great, atmosphere was hip, food was wonderful, price was amazing! We will be back soon! Pros: drinks were great!, servers were friendly, REALLY INEXPENSIVE! more

Never again 2/1/2003

I have tried this place three times now. The food is mediocre at best, the service is horrible and downright rude. Coming from the northeast, I'm always surprised at how little it takes for some restaurants in Denver to think they can cop an attitude. This place is really low quality, and I predict it goes under by the end of 2003. Pros: well designed Cons: rude staff, poor service, food more

Sub Par 1/23/2003

We had a Christmas party here.. the food was poor, the service was worse.... would NEVER go back. The only good thing was the chips and salsa. more

Limealicious 1/23/2003

I was kinda sceptical walking in, due to the fact that it was in the basement. But after being greeted at the front door by a smiling hostess and than recieving top notch service (lime salutes - primo!) and than to have the GM come over to our table and inquire about our meal! WOW keep up the good work!! See you again soon! Pros: lighting, service, bang for the buck Cons: parking more

Too cool for school 1/3/2003

If you enjoy eating out purely for the food, then maybe Lime isn't for you. If you like to feel glamorous, trendy, and where the cool kids hang out--then Lime is definitely your spot. I love Lime not only for the great chips and salsa, outstanding margaritas, and great service--but I also like Lime's hipster environment; an environment where maybe you'll run into all the cool kids in town, a DJ might spin a Northern Soul set, and you might suddenly feel like you are where the FUN in Denver is happening. Great atmosphere, great food--how can you go wrong? Pros: Great to look at, Cozy, Hip Cons: In Larimer Square. more

What is it with this place? 12/14/2002

I went here hearing about it from a few friends only to be truly dissapointed. The food and service are well below par. New management is definitely necessary. I agree with the previous postings, this place has really gone downhill. Guess I should have checked this site out first! Cons: no crowd, smell, bad lighting more

Service worse each time I went 11/29/2002

When Lime/Grime opened, I ate there with friends and we had a great time. The last two times I've been there, the service and food has become worse and worse. The very last time, we started with a margarita at the bar. When we ate dinner, they substituted my favorite ""made from scratch"" tortillas with something that I could buy at the grocery store. And the last time the floor was really dirty too. The manager was supposed to come over, but of course the bill came first. We sat around and waited, with the waitress telling us that the manager would soon be there. We decided to leave after waiting about 15 minutes. The waitress was even disappointed in her own manager. I don't plan on returning to GRIME and I know my friends won't either. There's a million better places to go within a block of Grime! Pros: cool decorations Cons: in basement, dirty floors, fleeting management more

Lime ain't worth the time 11/18/2002

I went to Lime with a bunch of friends and had a pretty mediocre meal for the money (with an arrogant wait staff). Only thing of note were the chips and salsa. But the worst thing about Lime came when I got my credit card statement. They had overcharged me by $5. I called the restaurant and talked to the manager about this (offered to come in and show them the discrepancy) and they said they'd take care of the refund. Well, I never got refunded, called back and complained again and STILL wasn't refunded the money. Pretty unprofessionally run place. I WILL NOT GO BACK and have told all my friends of the bad meal and service. Pros: Chips and Salsa, Variety of Tequila Cons: BAD SERVICE, Mediocre food at best, UNPROFESSIONAL more

Lime is too heavy handed 11/17/2002

When i was there, I too saw a patron being manhandled by security after he didn't tip a bartender for her bad service. Very pretentious and after having a bad experience, no plans to return. Pros: expensive, pretentious, horrible service Cons: mean people, bad service, cool colors more

Fun + Minimal = Lime 11/5/2002

Had to stop into Lime on a recent visit thanks, in most part, to the great design on their website and fun decor pictured therein. After reading the menu online i expected it to be the same old ameri-mexican fair. The decor was fun, took time to get used to the sparceness combined with no windows and just natural light from the patio doors, but it was cute. The waiter was somewhat out of it, but he was cute so who's counting. The margaritas; best I've ever had. We couldn't quite figure out what was added, but it made them great. The food was surprisingly out of the ordinary. I loved my tamales and green sauce! Cute and cheap. Recommended. Pros: Inexpensive, Free Dum Dums, Good Music more

Wanna be New York 10/4/2002

Nice place to go when you are missing NYC. All it needs is a good crowd, it already has the music. Pros: good music, atmosphere, drinks Cons: parking, not crowded more

Lovin' Lime 10/3/2002

A friend and I decided we had to try Lime. We were pleased with our decision. From that first shot of tequila to the delicious food, we loved every moment of our visit. It is great to find a place that is not a taco bell, but still priced within reason. I highly recommend Lime. Pros: Food, Service, Selection Cons: Loud more

Mexicali Deja Vu? 9/25/2002

I had flashbacks to the old Mexicali restaurant that was located across Larimer as soon as I came down the stairs. In fact, the food was virtually identical to Mexicali, which was always mediocre at best. And, maybe I went to Lime on an off day - Tuesday at lunchtime. The service was extremely poor due to understaffing (one waiter, one busboy for the entire restaurant). The hostess couldn't be bothered to help the poor waiter out, and the busboy refused to get us water. more

Loved it.. 9/10/2002

Went to Lime for dinner last Friday. Service was a little slow, but the food was great.. I like this place as long as you can manage to get a table.. Pros: Great Food, Great atmosphere, yummy margaritas Cons: slow service more

If only I didn't have to shout 8/8/2002

Clearly the best margarita (the chilled bar top should be required zoning for bars) decent food, fine staff. Now if we can just get them to turn down the music . . . at least a little. Pros: perfect mararita, chilled bar top, great price Cons: too loud, too loud, too loud more
