Worst shopping experience in NYC in the past year 12/22/2008

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME. When we walked in, we overheard the owner telling another customer that he wouldn't give him a business card. The customer seemed baffled and was like, Um, OK, I guess I'll just come back another time. Then we were the only customers in the store, and the guy came near us, didn't say anything, and just watched us like a hawk to make sure we weren't going to steal a lamp or something. To break the awkwardness, I asked a question about wattage of a lamp vs another lamp and he snapped that he couldn't answer that (like it's a dumb question). I tried again by asking about the light given off by a halogen vs a fluorescent lamp, and again he said, I'm not going to answer that. It got so tense we left. Maybe sales are great, but I doubt it. These lamps are expensive, and they are not any more interesting than anywhere else. I can't believe he sells to decorators. The lamps are just not so attractive and he's a bad guy. more

ALL ATITUDE, NO CUSTOMER SERVICE 7/9/2007

I went in to the Chelsea store which has some very nice fixtures. The attitude reached me before the salesperson. I ordered a fixture, 2 week delivery, paid in full, 5 weeks later I got the lamp. It was a test lamp and it worked so I did order 4 more. Same story as above except 2 out of 4 came in broken. When I called the store the ATTITUDE is what you get for the money. ""Contact UPS it's not our problem. Okay, well you still need to get me the broken glass I said. Two weeks later the only thing they have, plenty of EXCUSES NO GLASS.\r I WILL NEVER SHOP THERE AGAIN Pros: NICE FIXTURES Cons: ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE more

BEWARE! 8/7/2002

Be very, very careful ordering stuff from this place. We were told an item would be delivered in 6 weeks. 11 weeks later (and counting), we still don't have it. When we complained, the manager was incredibly rude and snippy. more
