We wandered off the main drag of Chinatown specifically looking for this place. First, we were the only non Asians in the place, which I take as a sign of authenticity! You sit ...

I was referred to LGarden by a friend who lives in the city - he warned that the food was a slightly more expensive than the ""usual"" chinatown fare, but i was game since he said...

you should go for one special dish 10/8/2005

There's a dish at this chinese restaurant on the outskirts of chinatown that I highly recommend trying if only for this dish. I'm not sure what it's called but it has deep fried taro and boneless roast duck with each scrumptious bite. I've never had or seen this dish offered in any other chinese restaurant. It's like one of those sweet memories you can recall from your childhood - at least for me. I've only been to Lichee Garden for dinner and it's pretty good as long as you know what to order. They are also known for their Peking-style pork chops smothered in a sweet&sour sauce. Our dishes arrived very promptly - almost too promptly as we felt as if they were trying to rush us to finish in order to clear the table for more patrons. All in all, 10 people can get a great meal for $150 with tip. more

great dim sum at great prices 9/14/2005

This restaurant is a favorite of mine for dim sum. The prices are really cheap and the food is quite good and authentic. This is an adventure for anyone that doesn’t speak Chinese, but the food is always good if you are willing to try new things. I recommend going on a Sunday morning for brunch, they get busy but I’ve waited an average of about 15-20 minutes for a table, and I think its worth it. more

Not bad if your stuck in Chinatown 7/18/2005

Not bad if your determined to have dinner in Chinatown but there are better venues throughout the city. The food is mediocre with nothing particularly standing out. The only saving grace is a crispy taro roast duck dish that I've rarely seen. Also the desert is superb compared to the usual from regular Chinese restaurants, but thats no reason to be a regular at this place. more
