A Great University City Find 3/21/2006

It may not be the best location, tucked away on a corner of 36th and Lancaster, but Lemon Grass Thai Restaurant is a great find. The atmosphere is just slightly upper end of your neighborhood asian restaurant, but the food takes it up a notch. There is a wide variety of dishes to choose from, appetizer plates to share amongst your table, and entrees that show the depth of Thai food. From spicy to sweet you can find it at Lemon Grass, and PLEASE save room for dessert - Fried Bananas, Awesome Ice cream flavors, yum! Also try the Thai Iced Tea and Coffee Average per person is in the $20-25 range For a bargain, go for lunch during the week, at last check they do a prix fixe which runs about $12 more

Tasty Thai in Philly 8/17/2005

Lemon Grass is a Thai restaurant in West Philly popular with the Penn crowd. It has imaginatively named dishes on its menu such as "Young Girl on Fire" or "Evil Jungle Princess." I am a big fan of the curry dishes especially the Penang curry with peanuts and potatoes. The coconut lemon-grass soup with either chicken or tofu is extremely tasty. Also, the desserts such as fried bananas with coconut ice cream are worth saving room for. The restaurant is attractively decorated and the servers are very attentive. It's the best Thai restaurant in Philly that I've found, which admittedly lacks on Thai cuisine. more
