A Great Time 8/15/2010

I had a great time, went back a few times. I feel right at home here. Its just a good bar. No glitz no glamour just great music and friendly people. Its for real country fans not the faint of heart that want everything 'sanitized'. more

I agree country is dead at ledgens 5/29/2007

I agree with all the previous reviews. if you read them they start out talking about ledgens playing great country music and to the most recent ones country seems dead at ledgens. you can find country during the daytime hours where they are thinking the tourist people are coming in to drink a coke and leave and you actually still have country on Friday night with a fellow name Tommy, well at least the last time I was there. But the fri and sat 6-10 wow talk about boyband... I travel to Nashville about twice a month I have a lot of money wrapped up in my trips ( bussiness & personla) down there. But my favorite place is turning against us. So to the past review yes you are correct in saying. Ledgens is (was) the best bar on the strip. And to the most recent I agree 100% are we in Nashville anymore??????? Very sad that its all about the money and not about the historic meaning behind broadway. I believe thats why other certain clubs had enough respect for Broadway(and thank you for this) to put rock and pop ect. off of broadway but just around the corner on another street. So why not bring back pure country to our Ledgens Corner???? more

Ledgens not country anymore :( 5/24/2007

Ledgens corner used to be the best, you could always find good country yes country music there and for some reason owner/ manger whoever is having a lot of pop and rock?? are we still in nashville does the locals matter???from my understanding they want to get more of the college age crowd..well we are a tourist city and ages from babies to elderly yes including the college students come to nashville knowing we are known for country music...pop and rock and boy bands should be moved away from the strip. guarantee we would still have the sucess downtown has if we would stick to what all tourist believe Nashville is about. The college kids are out to drink and have a good time.. so come on ........they are gonna stay if your playing merle haggard or ac/dc my vote is for merle!!!!! hopefully the owner or manager whoever will change this soon alot of locals are not enjoying our corner like we use too.. more

Great location 1/31/2007

Legends probably has some good entertainers, but I just haven't been in at those times. The one time I stayed and ordered food, a young girl was on stage singing Merle Haggard songs with the conviction of an embarrassed Cupey Doll who knows she's outta place. People were applauding, but maybe they dont see a lot of good muscial performances. This girl struck me as wanting to be somebody no matter what venue she had to use. I ordered salad and it was dumped, pre-made, from a large bag into my cardboard french fry tray. Not real appetizing. They have that corner on Broadway which is fantastic, but I don't go in much. Pros: Corner location more

Great place 12/25/2006

This is a great place to go and listen to the band, meet some new people and have a couple of drinks. The bands are great especially Buddy. Buddy, you need to bring back that black haired girl that you use to get up to sing a couple of songs. We liked her too. Everyone that goes to Nashville really should stop by this place between 8 and 10 pm on Friday and Saturday nights. Other times might be just as good but this is my favorite time to stop by. Pros: Great music, great people Cons: none more

Best on the Strip 9/11/2006

Everytime I go out I try to go somewhere else and I always end up at Legends. The staff is friendly, there is more than enough room, and if you're lucky, you can find a seat at the bar. It is the BEST place to go in Nashville to chill out, grab a beer, and hear some real country music. Pros: Great atmosphere, enough room to breathe Cons: You can wait a bit for your drink if it gets busy! more

Glad we had the opportunity to visit. Melody & Mark Silverman more

Great staff - Ice cold beer- Great Music - Best Bar to have a drink and listen to great live music in Nashville! Pros: friendly people, variety of bands, ice cold beer Cons: parking more

I totaly agree with aaron 8/4/2005

I think the management does a great job here. The staff are friendly and very helpfull and the entire place is keept quite clean. If you bring someone special and like to dance, stay down near the Broadway enterance. If you are just hanging out with friends and like to enjoy some good local country music bands, there is an area in the back near the side door where you can enjoy the music without having to scream at each other to be heard. Pros: good music, friendly staff, clean Cons: crowded more

Great Place 7/23/2005

I was totally blown away by Legends Corner. You'd expect a bar in the heart of Nashville to be only so-so because of the throngs of tourists there (like me), but this place was my favorite. All the bands I saw were really good. They tended to play a lot of classic country, which was OK by me. And I can't say enough about the staff. They went out of their way to make sure I had fun in Nashville. They were attentive and even suggested other places for me to visit. If you're a lover of country music, this should be on your list of places to visit in the Music City. Pros: awesome music, friendly staff, cold beer more

User review by ruready 6/13/2005

visited during the CMA festival and enjoyed the bar and the bands more than the nightly concerts--the extremely crowed bar was friendly--no fighting in spite of the crowded areas--the musicians were just as good and better than what we paid to see at the CMA nightly concerts! more

  • In Short
Country music record covers plaster the walls, but the real attraction is the bar's live music: Some of the city's finest contemporary acts make their mark onstage. The expanded drink menu and the cold beer keep regulars coming back. With one of the most prominent locations downtown (catty-corner from the Arena), Legends draws an equal mix of curious tourists and local barflies--making the dance floor shrink a bit on weekends.
