A few years ago our car's timing belt went out. We had it towed to Lee's Automotive as it was the closest auto repair shop (big mistake!).
We had a pretty good idea it might be the timing belt, which meant major repairs to the car (this was a sportier car which meant a timing belt going out can actually ruin the engine). Rather than have the entire engine rebuilt - which would cost more than the car was worth, we asked Lee's automotive to let us know if it was the timing belt.
Bottom line is that they tricked us into letting them make a few other repairs before actually letting us know that it was the timing belt. We kept getting "We have to fix this first before we know..." In truth, they knew, but suckered us into investing approximately $500 before they told us we needed to spend an additional $2,000 to rebuild the engine. Had we known that at the beginning, we would have spent the $2,000 towards a new car rather than fixing a car that was probably worth less than $2,000 after all the repairs were made.
Needless to say, we've never gone back and every repair shop we deal with now seems wonderful next to Lee's Automotive.
