Celebrate CNY! 2/8/2011

Me and my friends just celebrated Chinese New Years at this place and it was festive and unique. We went this past Sunday for dim sum and the dragon dances (or dragons dances, there were 2 of them)! The place was packed, I mean the whole resturant was filled and there were more people waiting. We had made reservations weeks ago, so we were good to go.\r \r My friend that made the reservation told us that it was like this every year on the day that they have the dragon dances. They also had a five people minium to reserve a table that day, we made the cut with 6 of us. I have never experienced anything quite like that before. It was a lot of fun and the food that I was brave enough to try was delicious. They pushed the dim sums around in carts and you just pick what you want at your table. The dragon dance was really cool and people was giving them little red envolopes, which has money in them. It was quite an experience, I would suggest anyone to be there to celebrate CNY, just make sure you make the reservation early : ) more

Wonderful place for authentic chinese cuisine 11/12/2009

I have been dining here for years. The service is always excellent and the food is delightful. \r \r While I do order other dishes once in awhile, I mainly go for the Dim Sums. Dim Sums are little appetizers. There are many different varieties to choose from, with all kinds of ingredients. Makes me hungry just thinking about it :)\r \r You have to take the recent negative reviews of this place with a grain of salt. I know that the current owners are having some civil suit issues with the previous owners. Leads me to think that there's more than meets the eye on the recent bad reviews. The servers have been the same ones for years, the service described just seems out of character for these people. Oh well, who knows. Back on topic.\r \r I would highly recommend this place. If you want to find good authentic chinese food, you have to go to where the asian people eat. I've seen enough asian families here to know that's the truth. Pros: Dim Sum / Hot teas. Cons: Can get busy on the weekends. more

Stay away from Lee Garden 7/6/2009

While visiting my son and daughter in law on the July 4 weekend, we went to Lee Garden on July 3 for dinner. There were only two tables of customers while we arrived at around 7 PM. \r We ordered 6 dishes for 4 of us to share. One of the dishes we ordered was Emerald Shrimp. The shrimp was bad and spoiled. We immediately told the owner/manager about our concern. After trying to cover-up and save his face unsuccessfully, the owner/manager agreed to cancel that dish from our order. Anyway, we thought we still have enough food for us to share. \r When we got our check, the waiter pointed out to me that they have already taken the shrimp dish out and only charged us for the remaining 5 dishes. I glanced through the check and noticed the sum on the check didn't look right to me. I took my time and even asked my son to add it up for me. At this time the waiter returned and told me the owner had instructed him to charge 4 dollars to my bill to cover the cancelled spoiled shrimp dish (Not mentioned on the bill anywhere). After questioning, the owner finally took the additional charge out.\r If I had not checked the math on my bill, the restaurant owner could have probably gotten away with their dishonesty.\r I don't recommend their food to anyone especially how they treat their customer. Do your math carefully if you happen to eat there! Cons: The owner was dishonest more

Horrible Service 5/9/2009

Well my companion is now sick after requesting items that had no seafood or mushrooms in it. I’ve enjoyed Dim Sum in many places and towns as had my companion. She is in a wheelchair. We arrive and are immediately seated at a booth. She only has one leg. She actually was quite okay with the booth but there wasn’t a choice offered. So I was disappointed there and further upset by the growing hostile reaction to us as the meal went on. The the dim sum carts start coming around and I sit there and try to explain what we need. We make it clear that any kind of seafood or mushrooms will make her sick. Or at least we think we have. She picks the chicken dumplings and the sesame buns. The chicken is undercooked. We send it back and say we don’t want another after being grossed out. They still come out with replacements which we refused. They bring us a pork dumpling that we requested to only have pork in it. But instead it has pork, peanuts and shrimp. I eat them because I don’t have any issues with it. I order the scallop and corn dumpling. It never comes. There’s 2 other carts but they never stop. I’m fed up but my companion has ordered Garlic Chicken from the regular menu again covering the no seafood or fish sauce stance. She asks for Fried Rice. Gets steamed. We send that back and get the fried. The Fried rice is awful. It tastes funny. So does the chicken. There’s a distinct fish flavor in the food. We call a manager over. Explain that we are very unhappy and go through the litany of issues. He tells us that shrimp is not seafood. BUH? Oh come on! Then he tells us that we are not to come back and waste his food. I promise him we won’t. We weren’t even nasty or rude. Just unhappy with the service and the food. I’ve been to this place a few times and it’s always leaned to the weak side but never this bad. We visited a nearby shop and apparently there are more complaints about this place but I guess people just aren't being vocal about it. Please write reviews... it really helps the public! Pros: If you like fish- this is the place Cons: If you are allergic to anything this place will make you ill more

Highly Recommended 7/10/2007

Lee Garden does have a large menu of options, and though I stick to only a few things, everyone I've brought there has loved their dishes. The waiters know my face, and know what I want, and treats me and my guests with exceptional hospitality. The prices are good, the decor is interesting, and, they're open until 1:30 on weekends!!! I mean, where else can you sit down to linen tables at that hour? Let alone get great food. The clientele do give away that the food is authentic to taste. They also make your food to taste, if you want it spicier, crispier, milder, they will always cater to your needs.\r \r I recommend this restaurant because they take care of repeat customers and take care in their food and appearance. I always know I'm going to have a good dining experience when I choose Lee Garden. Pros: Hours, food, service more

Not as good as it used to be 2/17/2007

I used to come to LG with my family on the weekends for wonderful Dim Sum. Their menu was great and the service was superb. \r \r Last two times I was in though I did not feel the warm friendly atmosphere that I had previously felt. The menu has also lost a number of vegetarian options which makes it harder for me to eat there. Although the food was still tasty, this is no longer one of my favorite Chinese food restaurants in the area.\r Pros: Food, location Cons: Service, lac of vegetarian options more

Sad Decline in Quality 2/20/2006

Once a very good place, Lee Garden has fallen on hard times. Egg Foo Yung served not on a plate, or a platter, but on a microwave pie pan. Sauce the consistency and flavor of chicken soup. Hardened chunks of General Tao's Chicken in a molasses-like gooey sauce. Rice wasn't bad, but that hardly redeems the almost inedible main courses. Seems as if the food comes prepackaged from some central supply house and is reheated to order. Indifferent service. Perhap's new ownership? more

The best Chinese food ever! 3/15/2005

I came here one night with a group of my friends from work and we had a great time! I work at a restuarant too, and I thought LG was one of the best in quality. My friends and I ordered a few drink that we really liked also. I forgot the name, but it one of them was green and the other one was icy blue. I guess I'll just have to find out next time. This place isn't like any other Chinese restuarant because they have soooo much to choose from. I orded a spicy chicken dish with bell peppers and I loved it! We also stayed for Karaoke and had a blast! more

Great Place, Open Late! 2/12/2005

I've never seen a restaurant that serves excellent food that's open as late as this place. They have a great drink menu even though their bar is a little small. The bartender is creative & makes the tastiest drinks ever! Our server was also equally awesome. I've only tried the chicken skewers so far, but I'm definately going back for more! I recommend this to anyone who likes great cocktails! more

Great Authentic Chinese 12/3/2004

This restaurant has great authentic Chinese dishes. It's easy to tell its real by the clientel that are there. Also they have wonderful dim-sum every day of the week (weekends have a wider selection of items on the dim-sum menu). I frequent this restaurant alot, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic Chinese experience. more
