Great Food 5/20/2010

The food here is always great tasting, service is very good, nice place for family dinner or take a date! Pros: prices Cons: not open for lunch more

Great food, great service, and a lot of great drinks. 12/13/2006

We've been coming to this restaurant for a long time, and we just had a party there for my sister. When we went I thought my sister didn't have a good menu for her bat mitzvah. I didn't like the stuff on her menu. I wanted to see what the hamburger with fries tasted like. So, I got it and I loved it. From a 1 to a 10 scale, I would rate this a 4 and a half. Pros: Great service Cons: Thumbs double up more

Romantic, cozy french bistro 9/27/2006

This place is expensive, but it's worth it. It's cozy and small, but it feels like you're in a tiny french bistro in paris. The staff was very friendly and the food is very good, especially the desserts. Good date spot. Pros: Romantic, cozy Cons: Expensive. more

Pros: location, frites Cons: poor service, overcooked steak, loud more

Food just like in Paris, but better 7/13/2006

Truely feels like a Parisian Bistro and the food is great. Highly Recommended for Authentic French. Two locations, that I know of and always convenient parking. more

I wish I had read these reviews before celebrating my anniversary there. 7/13/2006

The reviews below are very accurate. It was overcrowded, hot, and overpriced for what you get. I was hoping for a nice quiet evening out with my spouse, but instead spend the night melting and waiting for my food to arrive. I had to ask my server twice for a drink refill which was necessary because of the heat. The place wasn't even very crowded when we ordered but after waiting for forty five minutes for our food it become busy and loud. Not a good restaurant if you are hoping for an intimate night out. Pros: souffle Cons: overpriced, crowded, poor service more

5 Reasons why it's AWFUL 7/9/2006

5 Reasons why Le Petit is AWFUL Pros: close to my home Cons: poor service, expensive food, poor quality of food more

HORRIBLE 7/7/2006

I have read the reviews below and cannot beleive people liked this place. It is probably the worst food I have had in the valley or anywhere....Yes I have been to France and this is NOT authentic French...it is gross..poorly prepared...ect.. Pros: nice atmosphere, good service Cons: terrible fOOD and expensive more

Not what it was a year ago 5/29/2006

I recently took my wife to Le Petit Bistro for her birthday. I requested a french speaking waiter. I could hear the waiter complaining to the bartender that he had to serve me strictly because he spoke french. Apparently the other servers did not. He was rude, the atmospher was loud, and the food took way too long to be prepared. The food was in fact very good but the night was ruined by the overall ambience. The restaurant has a new owner so I suppose that is the reason why the feeling had changed. My wife and I once frequented this establishment but had bad service about six months ago. We decided to give it another try because it was once her favorite spot. We will no longer be returning. Pros: good food, chocolate souffle Cons: crowded, arrogant waiter, long wait for food more

Wonderful!!! 2/3/2006

As many as times as I go to Le Petit, I never get tired of the wonderful food. They have such a variety that I it keeps me wondering, what specials are next. Don't get me wrong, I have my favorites, and when I crave it, I must have it! The ambiance is nice as well, soft music, wonderful staff, and great FOOD!!!! Who could ask for anything more? They are all so accommodating in there, that I know everything will be great. People who have never tried this place, MUST!!!! When you try it, you'll understand what I'm talking about..... Pros: Inexpensive, Great Service, Great Food more

Authentic French - Amazing Dinner 1/24/2006

Just moved here from NYC. I was dying for authentic french, found this on citysearch. All of the comments are true. This was the best meal I have had outside of Paris. First, the place has the look of a restaurant on the left bank. Second, the waiters all speak french. Third, the food is outstanding! They bring you bread w/ pate to smear on it. Yum. For appetizer I had argula w/ shaved parmigian and pinoli in a balsamic vinegar. Main course was mussels in a thick cream sauce. pommes frites skinny and crispy. Finally, the chocolate souffle was crazyyyy> This was restaurant was so good. Will go back soon and bring friends when they visit LA. more

New Year's Celebration! 12/31/2005

We have had wonderful meals at Le Petit Restaurant, so we decided to spend New Year's Eve there. It was amazing! Dinner was outstandting - particularly the filet mignon - and the staff was welcoming and friendly. We would be happy to spend future celebrations there! Pros: friendly, efficient, tasty more

great little find of a bistro 10/20/2005

we've been here several times now and have left happy every time. the place is small, so it tends to get packed on the weekends, but the food is always great. the escargot is always a nice start. they have weekly specials, so if you come across a lobster/crab combo go for it, it's big but delicious. lamb chops are always delicious as are most things we've tried. for dessert? it's the best part: DELICIOUS tarte tatin and the apple crisp. just outstanding. this place won't disappoint. and the prices? AMAZINGLY reasonable. Pros: great food, great service, delicious dessert Cons: crowded on weekends more

Sanctuary! 5/19/2004

A classy quiet place (unlike Great Greek next door), that never fails to please, and we eat there a lot. Very accomodating, my wife and I go there late by ourselves, or right at opening with our young children, and are outta there before it gets busy. A very good value in food prices, and I rely on the waiter's wine recommendations when I want to try something new. Pros: Good value more

Never Disappointed 5/20/2002

Le Petit Bistro is one of the best places to dine in Sherman Oaks. The interior is warm and pleasant. Tables are set with white linen and soft lighting add warmth to the off white interior and wood beam ceiling. The food is excellent with usually 2-3 options for fish, beef, fowl, etc... The french onion soup is an excellent appetizer as is most everything else on the menu. The only complaint is the outrageous wine prices. $85 for a decent bottle of cabernet (marked up 3x at least)?! But everything else makes the meal worthwhile. more
