The cutest boys buy shoes at Lawannas 11/15/2005

The girls that work there are nice, not snotty art-damaged hipsters. The clothes--for girls and boys--are hot, selection is great. It's one of the few places that don't sell generic skirts and sweaters or ratty cords in Bklyn/downtown NYC. The jewelry is supercool and cheap cheap cheap and the Vans bring the cutest boys in NYC into the store. Pros: great staff, great selection, low prices Cons: can't leave w/out, buying stuff!!! more

The Awesomest Store in NYC 11/15/2005

Lawanna's is my favorite store in NYC. It is the only place I shop for all my cooly cool clothes. I have been shopping there for the past 6 years. They have the largest retail selection of Vans in the entire NYC. So if you ever need some hot kicks head on over and see the coolest store ever. Holla!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pros: Coolest clothes, Hotest shoes, Great prices Cons: nothing, nothing, nothing more

THE best brooklyn shop! 11/10/2005

since the moment i walked into lawanna's, i knew our whole neighborhood was in for the time of our lives. there is a GREAT staff, who makes all of their customers feel comfortable, and they are ALWAYS going that extra step to help, without being pushy (which is very rare in nyc). not only are they the most unique store in brooklyn, but the time and effort they put into the shop shows through. constantly up on the hottest trends from all over the country, researching fashion conventions, having the most recent info on all their merch, and also selling much gear for local artists. even being a small shop, they are the biggest part of their community. Pros: most unique clothing, easiest location, cummunity involved more

Just TRY to walk out empty-handed... 8/24/2005

I can't! Ok, it's the tiniest shop in Bklyn but when a shop is jam packed full of goodies, it's like running riot in the coolest closet you've ever seen. Hey, it looks like my apartment, so I'm perfectly at home here. The staff are the funny, cool girls you were supposed to have for sisters and are unerring in letting you know when those pants are supposed to be tighter or the socks lower. Put it this way, I can find gifts for everyone in here, except maybe my parents. Then again, Mom might really like that BITCH necklace.... Pros: selection, staff, music Cons: tinytinytiny, out of sizes sometime more

Lawanna's Rocks. 9/10/2003

I'm in love with the owner of this shop. She must be my long lost twin cuz she stocks the place with what she likes, and I happen to like EVERYTHING in there. And every time I pop in for a browse, I come away with ANOTHER pair of sneakers. Lawanna's is dangerous, but in the best kind of way. Long live Lawanna's!! Bedford Ave's Best Store 3/19/2003

Lawanna's has come to save us from the ""hipster uniform"" of corduroy, old t-shirts and horn rimmed glasses usually found on Bedford Avenue. Full of authentic Western shirts, Paul Frank goodies and the best accesories, my only complaint is that the store is not twice as big. Pros: Different, Selection, Great Staff Cons: Tiny more

there is only one reason i will still go to williamsburg and this store is it, the girls working there are the real thing, not like the wanna be hipsters that have taken over, with their white trash baseball caps worn slightly askew...i always find something cool at this oasis on bedford... more
