Houston's Best Lasagna & Italian Food 8/3/2010

I suggest Lasagna House III to all my friends and family and recommend it highly. They advertise that they have "the best lasagna in town" and I completely agree. The dining experience at Lasagna House III is great. Not only is the waitstaff friendly, but my server attended to every detail. It was like dining at a 5-star restaurant with a budget-friendly, family-oriented price range. I have ordered pans of food to-go from this location many times and have had the restaurant cater for several of my events. Their pricing is very reasonable and comparable to other restaurants in the area. Pros: Friendliness, Chicago-style charm, food quality Cons: None more

Not that great 3/3/2009

I was hoping to have some good Italian at this place but boy was I wrong. The waitress was very nice, but when I got my food it was cold to the touch. I try and flag the manager down and instead of apologizing to me he just grabs my plate and walks away. Very unprofessional and rude. I will have to find another italian place on the west side of town since I will not be returning to Lasgna House more

UNDER PREPARED FOOD 10/27/2008

I went to Lasagne House III today and was a bit disappointed. I ordered a to-go service back in the holidays and the food was superb. I had ordered a 1/2 pan of chicken Lasagna, salad with the house dressing and garlic bread.Everything was PERFECT. \r \r However, today was my first time eating inside the locale. I went just after the lunch hour ended( 3:15) since I didn't want a crowd. The restaurant was clean and the service was decent. I ordered the Chicken Alfredo Fettucine with mushrooms and it was OKAY. The Alfedo sauce was really bland. I love Italian food and I always order this meal and compare the sauce. I was quite unimpressed, downright upset about the quality of the sauce.\r (Amendment)\r AFTER WRITING THIS REVIEW YESTERDAY,I HAD TO COME BACK AND AMMEND IT. DO NOT EAT AT THIS RESTAURANT. I THOUGHT THE FOOD WAS MEDIOCRE YESTERDAY BUT NOW I REALISED IT WAS UNDER-PREPARED. I CAN'T GO TO WORK BECAUSE I'M THROWING UP AND MY MUSCLES ARE TOO WEAK TO MOVE AROUND MUCH. LAST NIGHT WAS A NIGHTMARE FOR ME. \r \r I GUESS MY RESOLVE WILL BE TO EAT AT HOME AND ONLY OUT IF IT CANNOT BE HELPED. Pros: The restaurant is very quiet after the lunch stampede. Service is quite quick and friendly. Cons: fell ill after eating here more

Straight-forward fantastic food 4/4/2008

I have dined here several times and finally decided that the Lasagna House deserves a review (i rarely write reviews).\r \r The setting is incredibly low-key, humble and cozy and i LOVE LOVE LOVE that. It makes me think of a mom-n-pop Chicago eatery. Nothing pretentious or over-the-top. It's very minimalistic and it was really refreshing to eat Italian at a place that isn't all about looking high-dollar. Although I do enjoy going to high-profile places too, but this was just a nice change of atmosphere. It's good to not feel intimidated by your surroundings. \r \r The service is ALWAYS impeccable (every single time I've gone) . They are so incredibly nice and accommodating. I never felt like the waiter was annoyed that he had to actually work for his tips (I usually experience this all the time everywhere else).\r \r And of course, lastly...the food. Oh dear God, the food. Too many places (i.e. Maggiano's, Buda di Beppo, Crapitto's, Grotto, Carrabba's) over-complicate their dishes with every possible herb they have in the kitchen to try and enhance your eating pleasure. Those places need to take note from Lasagna House. Simple ingrediants, nothing super fancy. It's not even served ""fancily"" yet this is by far the BEST ITALIAN FOOD I have ever had in my life. Everyone I have dined with here also agrees. I have never whimpered and hoo-ed so much while eating. The food is THAT great. I makes me incredibly sad when I am too full to finish. I don't want to stop eating the perfectness that is their food.\r \r This is an incredibly long review but they deserve it. Kudos to the owner/ chef/ recipe creator. You have won my mark for Best Italian. I am forever loyal. Pros: Simplicity of everything (atmosphere, food, service, presentations). and...The Meat Sauce. Cons: I have sat here for 5 minutes and cannot think of anything to put in this section. Really, I tried. more

Hmmm...Take Out Lasagne on Xmas Eve 1/4/2008

OK..Hate to braq but I have been told that I make the best Lasagne in Houston. I have on occasion eaten at the Lasagne house and YES their Lasagne tasted very much like my Lasagne. Delicious.\r This past Xmas Eve it was my turn to host the after early Mass Xmas Eve Buffet. They all requested my Lasagne. I had every intention of making this request but got caught up in medical/dental procedures so hubby ordered 1/2 pan from the Lasagne House hoping no one would know the difference. No one said a word but I knew this batch tasted different than what I have eaten at the Lasagne House. It was too sweet and had a fish like taste. I was disappointed but still no one said anything. The next day (Christmas) we all gathered at my nephew's house and my daughter cornered me and said, ""Fess Up Mother, that was NOT YOUR LASAGNE!!! Where did you get it?"" Well, I got caught and did fess up as I knew this Xmas Eve Batch from Lasagne House was not my Lasagne. My daughter also told me it was too sweet and had a fish like taste. So, I am back to making my own Lasagne again as not to disappoint my fans. (-:\r \r Lasagne house, if you see this...did you change the ingredients recently? Your salad was excellent that hubby also picked up also on Xmas Eve. more

Yummy Italian restaurant! 12/27/2005

Went here for lunch during a recent trip to Houston. Both the ambience & food seem low-key but wow, is the food was great here - fantastic salad is tossed at your table & you can get more (delicious vinaigrette) & great garlic bread. I ordered the lunch portion of the angel hair w/ mushroom tomato sauce. It came in a huge bowl (larger than I would normally tackle for lunch) & I ate up almost every scrumptious bite! Others had pasta & meatsauce and a meatball hero & they thoroughly enjoyed their meals too. I will try to come here again the next time I'm in town! Pros: Yummy food, Salad refills, Scrumptious sauces Cons: ? more

Squisito! 10/18/2004

Fantastic Italian food! Menu has lots of choices, and the meals are well worth the price. I enough to have another meal. We teased the waiter that he gave us a bottomless bowl of pasta, there was so much. I didn't have the lasagna, but I hear it is really good. Garlic bread is the best I have ever had in a restaurant. Waitstaff is extremely friendly and attentive. TV is available if there is a big game on. Pros: Good Parking, Great Staff, affordable more
