Great value, decent team, beautiful stadium. 8/24/2005

Catching a game at Oldsmobile Park is a relaxing, family friendly way to spend a summer afternoon or evening. The tickets are reasonable, parking is close, the players seem to actually care about each game (considering they are trying to move up in the minors towards the major leagues) and they have some fun promotions. Thursday nights feature extremely cheap beer, mixing two American traditions into one. Overall, I'd highly recommend checking them out if you get the chance. more

Take yourself out to the ball game! 7/27/2005

If you're looking for something fun to do on a nice summer night, you absolutely need to consider attending a Lansing Lugnuts game. Some would argue that there's nothing more fun than a minor league baseball game. There's just something about seeing guys who are trying to earn their way up the ladder rather than the bigshots on TV. Oldsmobile Park is a great venue for either the family or just having a guys night out. Being so close to the center of downtown Lansing, there a plenty of place to head to after the game is over. Don't forget about Thirsty Thursdays! more

Lansing Lugnuts - Going, Going, Gone! 7/25/2005

The Lugnuts are Lansing’s Single A, Midwest League baseball team. They were previously a farm team for the Chicago Cubs and, at the time of this review, are in the farm system for the Toronto Blue Jays. Catching a Lugnuts game is a fantastic way to spend a summer evening. Being a farm league team, the tickets, food and drinks are pretty inexpensive and it’s a great way to see the game’s rising stars. Thursday games are known as “Thirsty Thursdays” during which 20oz pop & beer, hotdogs and wings are all only $2. Most Friday games are followed by a fireworks show. Oldsmobile Park is a great example of an urban ballpark and is an exciting place to watch a game. There is plenty of parking around the park, however I do recommend purchasing your tickets ahead of time or showing up early to purchase them, as ticket lines can move slowly just before the beginning of the game. more
