The Lugnuts are Lansing’s Single A, Midwest League baseball team. They were previously a farm team for the Chicago Cubs and, at the time of this review, are in the farm system for the Toronto Blue Jays.
Catching a Lugnuts game is a fantastic way to spend a summer evening. Being a farm league team, the tickets, food and drinks are pretty inexpensive and it’s a great way to see the game’s rising stars. Thursday games are known as “Thirsty Thursdays” during which 20oz pop & beer, hotdogs and wings are all only $2. Most Friday games are followed by a fireworks show.
Oldsmobile Park is a great example of an urban ballpark and is an exciting place to watch a game. There is plenty of parking around the park, however I do recommend purchasing your tickets ahead of time or showing up early to purchase them, as ticket lines can move slowly just before the beginning of the game.
