Best

try the #19. We find it so fun when we are in the area. Only open in daytime makes it harder to get there when Langers is open.

Worst

The food was OK...In my and my husband's opinion, not great! Way overpriced for what you get. Its a California landmark and famous...but for us...once was enough.

Really Good Pastrami 11/15/2011

Meat? Good, pastrami? Good! Not the BEST deli I ever ate at, but you know what? In a pinch this place is just fine. By the way... stuffed cabbage is not bad at all. I agree with some that if you do the curbside pick up CHECK YOUR ORDER, but then again, what boob doesn't? If you don't you deserve it, don't you? Anyhow, lika da Langers, but yes, there are others that rock just as much if not more. Yelp should organize a pastrami sandwich off so we can all decide, no? Am I asking too many questions? Pricey but Excellent 8/24/2011

The claim to fame of these delicious sandwiches is the driving point about the price, I think (which is inflated a bit), however it is a wonderful experience to sink ones teeth into one of these. Great for work lunch orders. more

Best Pastrami in the LA area 1/27/2011

I just ate at the famous Langer's deli for the first time and it was as amazing as I had heard!!! The service was quick and the food was delish! I ordered the oh so famous #19 and it was to die for. The rye bread had a super crispy crust and a super soft middle. The pastrami literally melted in my mouth. Definitely the best pastrami in LA and I have been to many a deli in the Los Angeles area. more

Yummmmm!!! Pastramiiiiiii!!! 11/8/2010

Best Pastrami in the world. Yes I can say that. Just be careful, because once you eat their pastrami, you just will not like anyone else's. more

Best Pastrami Sandwich Ever. 10/2/2010

My wife and I love pastrami sandwiches and didn't realize we lived next to the best in the world. My wife is from NY, and we did the NY deli tour several times. Have been looking for NY like pastrami in LA, but didn't realize how good it can be untill we tried Langers. Atmosphere and service was perfect from the moment you enter to doors, after you pass through the Tijuana like atmosphere from the parking lot to Langer's. We sat at the counter and ordered #19 (Pastrami on twice baked rye bread with slice of swiss, cole slaw, and russian dressing) and #55 (Corned beef on rye bread with cole slaw and russian dressing). Both sandwiches came with pickles that were cruchy and juicy with the perfect amount our sourness. more

Loved it 2/23/2010

My friend and I went for breakfast today. I ordered bagles and lox, they gave me two bagels piled high. they were d'lish. my friend ordered corned beef hash and eggs with salsa that was really good. too. The only bad thing was the bad neighborhood. what neighbood is that any way? Pros: great food, ambiance and Cons: bad neighborhood more

Oh yes, it's real good! 2/3/2009

This is a true New York Style deli minutes from downtown LA and just off of Wilshire. I had the Pastrami on Rye and some Matzah Ball Soup. Everything was excellent, including the service. The Pastrami was melt in your mouth tender and had great flavor. The atmosphere is just what you would expect at this type of place, casual and not pretentious. I highly recommend Langer's and will be back soon! Pros: Validated parking, great food, nostalgic Cons: Lock your rims! more

Hands down best pastrami! 1/21/2009

Man...everytime I come here, I overdo it. I once almost ate two orders of their pastramis in a sitting. Really it's that good! I just wished they'd open later because the only time I get to go here is on weekends. Pros: food, selection, service Cons: closes early, can get busy more

The #19 is the best sandwich I've EVER eaten 11/5/2007

Langers is amazing. I've only been there once a week ago, but I've been thinking about it every day. The #19 is the best sandwich anywhere period. I'm not even a huge pastrami fan, but this sandwich got me hooked. Pros: best sandwiches ever, comfy booths, good service, parking lot Cons: langers closes at 4! more

This classic Jewish deli belongs in Lower Manhattan 9/4/2006

WOW - this place is a one-of-a-kind institution for Los Angeles. Complete with all the food, atmosphere, and service you would expect from the classic Jewish delis in New York City. I went with three friends and we all, not unwisely, ordered the number 19 - pastrami on rye with coleslaw and russian dressing. SO good. Heaping portions of cured pastrami exploding with flavor on soft, warm rye bread topped with crisp coleslaw in creamy, yummy dressing. Our waitress, a 50 something old-timer named Joan, took care of us in that Jewish mother sort of way. Sort of grumpy and cynical - but lovable and comical just the same. If you can, save room for dessert, but remember they aren't open past three and are closed most holidays. Park in a nearby lot and validate, the somewhat seedy area does no justice to the culinary oasis of Langers deli. Pros: Huge, delicious sandwiches in a classic deli setting Cons: None to be found! more

Best Pastrami in THE CITY of LA 9/2/2006

Piled high and tasty that sums up my Langers experience. When it comes to sandwiches you don't need some gimicky bread or a fancy name for it's mustard you want quality. It sickens me everytime I go into a pseudo hip restautarant wishing to be cutting edge with stupid gimicky food names or some culinary infusion. We've allowed restaurants to tell us what we want NOT here. Plain and simple a Excellent sandwich with familiar ingredients. The city is losing it's Landmarks and we need places like this otherwise it'll just turn into a Starbucks or McDonalds Pros: Excellent product Cons: The only Cons are the bums outside the restaurant..closes early but I'd close early too if this was my restaurant..I'm sure night in this neighbor is like the WildWildWest better bring your gun. more

World Class Old World Deli 7/21/2006

As a New Yorker and believing Katz's (The Harry Met Sally deli) to have the best Pastrami anywhere, I had to try the place. Their Pastrami is great..the best i've found in LA and seperate but equal to Katz's. The rye bread is incredible to and I understand it's made exclusively for them. In fact everything was terrific. When you want some old world Jewish deli, this is the place! This place has been around since 1947. Help keep this history alive! (Too bad they're not open at night or on Sundays!) Pros: THE BEST Pastrami more
