I'd just assume that management would use the internet and actually look at what people think about their own business, I guess I am wrong! I'd rather drive to Boston Bowl and ha...

Big and Little Bowling Balls 5/16/2006

Lanes & Games is a classic bowling experience, whether you grew up on candlepin or the "big balls." It has two floors - one kind of bowling on each - as well as a pub-like eating area on the second floor. The food is pretty good, although know that if you ask for pizza or fries it'll take them about ten minutes to heat it up - your friends may wonder where you went. Beer and wine also. All sorts of people here, plus leagues and kids' parties. Really crowded on weekends, although, go figure, candepin is less so. more

Lanes and Games 4/24/2006

Lanes and Games is an no back-lot bowling alley but rather a game arcade, pool hall parlor and sports bar rolled into one. They have the Brunswick machine-manned ten-pin as well as the candle-pin alley set up over two floors. Big screens line the walls and hang from the ceiling over every lane, so you are well-clued into any major sporting events. You can step to lounges on either floor for your share of pop-core, dogs, burgers, fries and beer. You can try your luck with scratch-ticket lotteries if the pins ae to dropping our way. It's a nice family setting and here are plenty of good local energy to go around. more

2 Floors of fun 11/14/2005

This location has 2 floors of bowling. The lower floor is all candlepin, while the upper floor is part candlepin but mostly 10-pin (which is always crowded on a Saturday night) Great league activity as well as a social location to go with friends. Could use a little updating, but could hold on for a few more years before they really need it. more

This is Old-Timer Bowling at its Best! 8/15/2005

Lanes and Games in Cambridge is a GREAT place! If you live in Boston or in Cambridge and are looking for a place where you can go to find the gritty, blue-collar, down to earth Massachusetts, this is the place for you! It is so much fun to bowl here! They have "small ball" bowling on one floor and "big ball" bowling on the other. The prices are relatively inexpensive. I have never seen the place so busy that it is impossible to get a lane (although it appears they have league play there, and I would assume it would fill up on those nights, so it might help to call ahead). There is plenty of parking there, and I know that many people walk over from Alewife Station on the red line. There is a great little diner in the bowling alley where you can buy the type of greasy food you would expect to find in such a place. I highly recommend this place for people watching! more

Lots of Balls 8/15/2005

Bowling in Boston? This is the place! A short walk away from the alewife train station, they offer candlestick bowling below and normal bowling on the second floor. In addition, there is a nice eatery and a sweet arcade where I spent many hours as a kid. The prices are a bit steep for the location but you can’t beat the good old fun of bowling. more

Good times! 8/3/2005

Lanes and Games is a great place in Cambridge that won best bowling in Boston for 2004. They offer candlepin as well as ten pin bowling games (with and without bumpers), for reasonable prices. The offer leagues (for both types of bowling) as well as children's birthday parties. Their restaurant/lounge is clean and very nice, with a wide selection of food to choose from. The pro shop on the second floor will help you keep your bowling ball shiny and new, and it features the latest equipment. Great place to go for bowling! more
