Bad Service, Bad Experience, Stay Away!!! 1/24/2011

I was thoroughly dissappointed with my experience at Lamb's Automotive in Georgetown. I am not automobile savvy as I don't know a headlight from my own tailight. The manager at Lamb's took full advantage of this fact and proceeded to sell me multiple items and services that were unneccessary. I went in for a basic oil change and ended with a bill for $250 worth of service that was only required to pad the margins of the auto shop. DO NOT GO TO LAMB""S AUTOMOTIVE, they will prey on unsuspecting car owners as a lion to a lamb. more

Nice Place 12/3/2009

Good place to go 11/2/2009

I went to here to the N Bell location and was very suprised at how good the service was. The guys that work there are very knowledgable and professional. I would suggest this place to my friends. more

Good service 10/15/2009

My husband and I were pleasantly surprised by the customer service we received from Lambs brush creek location in Round Rock. Not only did we get a ride back home but en route when we asked for a stop at a fast food place, they were no questions asked. And we had no issues with our car once we got it from the servicing center. Overall our experience was gud. more

Satisfied Customer 10/15/2009

I had never been to Lamb's before ( I was actually avoiding it) until I recently took my car to the Georgetown location. Unsure of to expect, Lamb's turned me into a believer with friendly and helpful employees. They were very timely and not over-priced. Usually I don't go back to an auto shop once I've tried it because the experience is never pleasant, but I can honestly say that I will be going back to Lamb's. Pros: Good Quality Service more

Happy Ending 10/15/2009

I came into a Lamb's in Pflugervile completely distressed by some noises coming from my car. I was greeted by a very kind Service Advisor who having a hard time understanding my problem. Since I am a woman and have no idea what I am talking about, he asked an auto technician to take a short drive with me so that he could figure out what sound I was talking about. I was so impressed that they took the time to do this and were so polite the whole time. When I got my car back, the problem was taken care of. Such great service! Pros: wonderful service more

Cheats 8/5/2009

I took my car in for an alignment and they told me all four of tires and struts were shot and that it wasn't safe to drive on them. They wanted $3000. I didn't believe them and the guy told me that well, I could just do the front ones. That seemed so suspicious to me that I immediately took my car to another mechanic. He said the odds of all four struts going out at once were astronomical and my tires were just fine. This was the last straw with them, they used to be really honest, but now they are crooks. Prior to this they told me I needed something else for $3K - that must be the magic number for them. Cons: Do not go there if you are a female more

don't go there 3/30/2009

I took my vehicle in 3 times, every time, work had to be done that they found, even though it was unrelated to the presenting problem. i had them complete the recommended repairs, but it cost me 3 times what the original presenting problem was quoted. on the third visit, i needed my odometer replaced, but according to Lamb's, i needed a new radiator, a new drive belt, (true), a new master brake cylinder. the original quote was tripled for the additional work. i said no, paid $95.00 for their analysis and i will never go back. the master cylinder is fine, nothing wrong with the radiator, and the belt has been replaced. they wanted $118 for the belt and replacement. it was done for $30. Pros: at what? Cons: recommend a lot of unnecessary work at high prices more

Incompetent : Overcharged and damaged my car 9/5/2007

I took my car for the first time(and it will be the last) to Lambs Automotive on Bee Cave for a oil change after i got a coupon behind a HEB receipt. Went in twice and wait times were 3-4 hours each time, so decided to come in later and thought they must be good if they are so busy. Third time went in early morning 7:10am, still had to wait an hour. After the oil change drove 15 miles round trip and then car was idling, so got hot. Suddenly coolant started overflowing. Switched off car and tried to open the hood but hood would not open! Lambs had broken the cable release. I was 1 mile away from Lambs so drove it in. Made me wait an hour. They opened the hood and found that the coolant tank cap was cross threaded/crooked, so it did not seal when tightened. I asked them to fill coolant and screw the cap on properly. Said they did not break the cable release and it would cost $150 for labor alone to repair it, parts extra. I politely declined. Later after i got back home, i decided to take a look under the hood. To my surprise the coolant cap was still not screwed on properly. Fixed that and then took a look at the cable release. It will take me about half an hour to do tops. It is very straightforward. Also i cannot see any remnants of the old cable(if at all it had snapped). Now i am suspect that Lambs released the cable from the place where it was attached and the cable did not break after all. Unluckily i cannot push the cable back to see if the length is ok. Will never visit Lambs again and warn every person out there to not go there. My oil change also cost me $25 (with $18 coupon), at another shop nearby it is $27 (with $24 coupon). Markup from coupon in shop supplies/disposal fee is also a ripoff. Cons: Opposite of repair shop, will damage your car more

Keep your friends, recommend Discount Tire! 6/19/2007

It has been 3 days since THE INCIDENT and i'm finding more and more people have had horrible experiences with Lamb's. One friend took his car in because it was shaking and Lamb's quoted him $3000 for a new transmission. Not being a mechanic but actually having a brain he told Lamb's to put the car back together so he could have it towed to someone else. Lamb's who supposedly has a FREE estimate program tried to charge him $65 to put everything back in place!! The guy actually tried to GUILT him into paying by saying his mechanic wouldn't get paid if he didn't pay (amazing!!!!!). Turns out the next place charged him $150 to replace a joint of some sort (UV?)....Nothing to do with a transmission. Pros: CitySeach Cons: Lamb's more

Note from a real customer.... 6/19/2007

Whats great about Lambs is they are incredibly profitable. They rip off customers who are not familiar with automobiles. I was a victim a year ago and warned everyone I could. Unfortunately a good friend had to get tires and went to Lambs :( During the visit they told him he had a leak and needed to spend $1762 to fix and replace a bunch of different things in his car. LUCKILY he went for a second opinion somewhere else...guess what? A $75 clip/clamp FIXED the problem. Sooooooo, DON'T GO TO LAMBS!!!! I am saving you money!!!!! Pros: Lots of locations Cons: Criminal business practices more

When I dropped the car off in the morning, I told them them the windows will roll down but not back up. When I picked the car up in the afternoon, after declining work due to a $590.00 per door estimate, the driver's window was rolled halfway down. I asked them to raise the window to it's original position that it was that morning. They said, ""Sure, for $590.00."" I ended up having to take the car to another mechanic and pay $40.00 to roll the window back up. Some places wanted to charge as high as $100.00 to correct Lamb's mistake. The upside of the story is that I still had to pay Lamb's $40.00 to tell me my power windows didn't work. Wow. Thanks Lamb's, but isn't that why I took the car in in the first place? Pros: clean floors Cons: dishonest, condescending, expensive more

Avoid this place! 3/6/2004

I went for a simple brake reline and was told I needed to turn 3 rotors, replace one, replace all the calipers, and have the fluid flushed. $1000! I decided to reline and replace the one rotor myself. $150 in parts. Theres nothing wrong with the calipers, Ford and GM service bulletins make it clear that turning rotors is NOT appropriate unless warping or severe scoring is present, and theres no reason to flush the fluid unless its been exposed to water. Fact is, they recommended a lot of unnecessary work, and at inflated prices. The quoted the rotor at $175 but I paid $50, retail! Theyre paying jobber price. Pads were $80, but I paid $35 retail. The list goes on. Avoid this place. Pros: competent work Cons: , high markup more

Lamb's shows that they appreciate your business. Oil changes are reasonably priced, Fast!, and they use Castrol without charging extra. They do not act like martyrs when you need an inspection done. I am *much* happier since changing from the Kwik Kar down the street. Pros: Inexpensive, Helpful, Quality work more
