Lamb's Tire and Automotive Center

As much as I hate to write a bad review, I completely feel like a bait-and-switch victim right now. I suppose it is indeed POSSIBLE that my husband and I INCORRECTLY heard the estimate during our initial conversation with Lambs, but it doesn't seem very feasible. This is what I am certain of - when we showed up to pay the bill, the work was $100 more than the estimate we were expecting. And when we questioned it, we were told we had been given the correct estimate from the get-go. This was either an honest mistake on our part or their part - or we just got scammed. Nonetheless, it doesn't leave me a happy camper. more

I went in to get a clutch fixed. They fixed it in 48 hours and even came by to pick me up when it was done. Pros: Warrany everything - no interest CC for 12 months more

I went for a 4 wheel disc brake job on my 2002 Chrys Town and Country van, which I knew was due, but also knew that there was some pad left. They got it on the rrack, then came back at me with a $600.00 repair fee. He said that the fronts were wearing unevenly, so they needed to replace the brakes, rotors and calipers! This was something I could have done on my own but didn't because I wanted to save my own time, so I knew they were full of it. So I told em get it off the rrack and see ya. A week later I did the brakes myself, and lo and behold the calipers were fine, just needed the normal lube on the guide pins, the brake pads were barely different, which could account for a 200lb man sitting in the drivers seat every time the van was driven. The rotors were also fine (you can always have these resurfaced, I went ahead and replaced the fronts since the van was already up on jack stands). Total cost to me was my time and $120.00. If they would have been honest they would have had a repeat customer, instead I say stay away, far away. Go to Christian Brothers instead. Pros: None Cons: All more

I recently brought my wifes Camry in with an Engine warning light. We had them check to figure out what was causing this. They called back a few hours later while at work and informed us of the situation, which was emissions work. We were pretty sure this would be coming up soon as it's an '00 model and this work is done near the mileage specified. The price quote for this was spot on with 2 other places I located. I have used the Lambs on Mays in Round Rock for years and as a single mother I am always on a budget and need my car to be in good shape and safe. The employees are always friendly and honest. They go out of their way to provide rides to and from work to make it convenient for me to leave my car. I trust them and they have always done a fantastic job -the work has been right and on time. As a woman I am thankful to have a place that I know will treat me right and not take advantage of me. I will continue to do business with them in the future and would recommend them to anyone. I've taken my vehicles to Lamb's for basic oil changes and tire rotations for years because simply because it's the nearest mechanic to my house. Recently however, I asked them to perform slightly more complicated tasks-which to my disappointment, was too much for them to handle. First I took in my car for a tune up and a check on my fuel system-to improve my gas mileage. $500+ later, my car now shakes at stop lights (something it didn't do before) and my gas mileage is exactly the same-after they assured me there was a problem with it that had been corrected. It has been 3 days since THE INCIDENT and i'm finding more and more people have had horrible experiences with Lamb's. One friend took his car in because it was shaking and Lamb's quoted him $3000 for a new transmission. Not being a mechanic but actually having a brain he told Lamb's to put the car back together so he could have it towed to someone else. Lamb's who supposedly has a FREE estimate program tried to charge him $65 to put everything back in place!! The guy actually tried to GUILT him into paying by saying his mechanic wouldn't get paid if he didn't pay (amazing!!!!!). Turns out the next place charged him $150 to replace a joint of some sort (UV?)....Nothing to do with a transmission. more
