If I could give them a negative value, I would.
Let me list the reasons:
1. Management is clueless and unprofessional
2. The boats are in poor shape and often not functional
3. The reservation system does not reflect true availability
4. They have poor customer service
5. I waited for a month for my two reservations and got to use neither of them.
Here is my experience:
The marketing person that I spoke to directed me to the wrong marina on Lake Austin. He didn't even know what marina they boats were slipped at.
I had to take a ""boat training"" before going out the boats and an ""additional boat training"" in order to take out the Formula. After setting up a time when both types of boats that I had to get cleared on were available at Lake Travis, I drove out to the marina. Only the Formula was available. The wakeboard boat had been taken out for the evening and the person that I had confirmed with only 1/2 hour before was not aware of that. Then, I drove the boat for about 20 minutes and took it back in. Because I live near downtown, the entire trip ate up about 2 hours of my time and I didn't even get cleared off on the type of boat that I was planning on using the most (the wakeboard boats).
I set up another time to do the wakeboard training on Lake Austin. I showed up there at 8 am on Monday and there was no one there. When I called the contact person, they said that no one was going to show and that it would be okay to take the boat out on my reservation the next day without doing the training.... An entire morning of my time off work trying to accomplish a task that they set up that was unnecessary.
I called my contact at Lake Toys at noon to make sure that my boat would be available the next day and he assured me that it was. Some of my friends had asked for the morning off from work so that we could go out on the boat. About 1 hour later, a manager called me to say that I couldn't take the boat out because it was damaged. They offered no replacement and informed me that they would be taking all of the boats off of Lake Austin.
On Thursday, I called to confirm that I still had reservations on the Formula on Lake Travis on Sunday. This was a bigger ordeal because I had out of town guests coming to spend a day on the lake. Once again, I was assured that there were no problems with the reservation. Once again, I received a call less than an hour after this reassurance to say the boat was damaged and I could use it.
So, to summarize:
One month of waiting on reservations.
Two mornings off of work
Two hours of drive time and training
Two cancelled reservations with short notice and no follow through.
Zero hours on boats with my friends.
Avoid this business at all costs.
