I AGREE WITH ALL REVIEWS...THIS COMPANY HAS THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE. I THINK IT MAY BE A MOTHER DAUGHTER TAG TEAM. THEY GAVE ME A DAY OF FRIDAY ONLY FOR A TECH TO COME TO MY HOUSE AND ONCE THAT WAS ESTABLISHED THEY GAVE ME AN APPOINTMENT WINDOW OF 1-5. CALLED ME AT 355 TO TELL ME THE TECH HAD AN EMERGENCY AND COULDNT GET TO ME UNTIL 6PM AND WOULD I BE HOME. I HAD ALREADY TAKEN OFF A HALF A DAY AND HAD OTHER ENGAGEMENTS TO ATTEND TO. THE YOUNGER LADY PROCEEDED TO TELL ME IF I COULD NOT TAKE THAT THEN SHE COULD RESCHEDULE ME. I ASKED TO SPEAK TO A MANAGER CAUSE CLEARLY I WAS HEARING INCORRECTLY. THE PART OWNER AS SHE REFERRED TO HERSELF GOT ON THE LINE AND SAID ""MA'AM"" I JUST NEED TO CONFIRM SOMEONE WILL BE AT THE HOUSE BETWEEN 5-6. I PROCEEDED TO TELL HER WHAT I TOLD THE YOUNGER GIRL AND SHE SAID I LIVED FAR AND NO OTHER TECH SHE WOULD SEND AND IF I DIDNT LIKE IT CALL BACK TO MY WARRANTY COMPANY AND COMPLAIN TO THEM. I HAVE BEEN WITHOUT A STOVE FOR OVER A MONTH AND THIS WAS THEIR SECOND TRIP TO MY HOUSE. THEY KNOW NOTHING ABOUT APPEASING OR PLEASING A CUSTOMER. CUSTOMER SERVICE CLASSES THEY HAVE NEVER TAKEN. I WILL BE WRITING THIS POST ON EVERY LOCATION I CAN FIND. OH AND I AM A REAL CUSTOMER AND THIS IS VERY FRESH ON MY MIND AS IT JUST HAPPENED 20 MINUTES AGO. THEY DONT DESERVE ANYONES BUSINESS. I WILL ALSO BE FILING A COMPLAINT WITH BBB, THE WARRANTY COMPANY AND WHOEVER ELSE I NEED TO TO WARN THEM OF THIS BUSINESS. more

Please stay away from this company. They came home to fix a cook top with broken glass. The glass started cracking due to old age and we have been cooking on it which made it worse. The person told me that he would work with AHS and get it fixed. Looks like they gave a different report to AHS stating that impact mark is found and they denied the claim. more

Service? They've never heard of it! 3/29/2012

American Home Shield sent them out to repair a clothes dryer and the ""tech"" refused to pull out the washer that was sitting next to it to service the dryer. He expected my 5 foot tall, 98 lb wife to do it for him. Then when she tried to reschedule him for the next day after I could do it for him (took me less than 30 seconds when I got home), the person on the phone said that the washer needed to be pulled out BEFORE she would even set an appointment. This review is also going to AHS who hopefully will NEVER use them again. All of these reviews are spot on. more

WORST APPLIANCE CENTER EVER!! 1/31/2012

THIS IS THE ABSOLUTE WORSE PLACE, I HAVE A PART THAT WENT OUT ON MY DRYER AND IT HAS LITERALLY TOOK THEM OVER A MONTH TO GET THE PART AND THEY HAVE STILL YET CALLED ME TO FIX MY DRYER, WHEN I CALL A WOMEN NAMED CARLA ANSWERS THE PHONE AND SHE NEVER RETURNS MY PHONE CALL, MY PART WAS SUPPOSED TO ARRIVE 2 DAYS AGO AND THEY DIDNT HAVE THE RESPECT TO CALL ME AND EVEN LET ME KNOW WHAT WAS GOING ON, I HAVE CALLED AND LEFT A MESSAGE. THIS HAS JUST GOT OUT OF HAND ITS POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND WHEN YOU HAVE CHILDREN AND NEED CLOTHES DRIED, GOING OVER A MONTH WITHOUT A DRYER IS HARD. NEEDLESS TO SAY I WILL NOT BE COMING BACK TO THIS COMPANY THEY ARE BY FAR THE WORST COMPANY TO DEAL WITH. more

Horrible Service 5/13/2011

I wish I could give no star because they are the worst. American Home buyers Warranty sent them to my house and hey came once then call me the morning of the next service date and told me oh we have the wrong part and we will have to call you back on next week. When I told them it would be hard for me to take off again and that I was really disappointed that they would wait to the day of to tell me that is was the wrong part since they call me to schdule on Monday, she said oh well it happens this is not a perfect world. Then I asked if she would work with me an five me a late evening appointment, she said no and that they only come certain days of the week. I then told her she would have to call me back when the part came because I did not have my schedule in front of me but that I was going to make this reflective in the surey that I would do, she told me that she wsa going to call them and tell them that I was yelling at her and that she could not service me so that it would not be reflective of her. And that is what she did....I never yelled talked in a calm voice even after she told me she was going to call them and do that. I called the company and told them what she said and how she was going inform them of a false statement so that it would not be in her rating. I am also going to call the BBB and the lincesing board of Texas. This company has no standards and I wish I would have saw the other reviews to not even begain the process with them in the first place. more

Really ???? 3/17/2011

I am just not sure how many trips it takes to diagnose a problem with a dishwasher. I to am an American Home Shield client and also refer lots of warranties to the company. Wish I had read up on these people before I ever agreed to have them in my home.\r They also made 3-4 attemps to fix a trash compactor and in the end said it was just more than they could or would be able to handle.........Glad I am not paying multiple trip charges.... more

Wish I had read the reviews first! 1/13/2011

Lake Area Appliance made about six or seven trips to my house to repair a vent hood on my kitchen range. They always ""had to order a part"" or ""needed to call the manufacturer"". Then they lied and told American Home Shield that I or someone I knew messed with the control panel, so they were turning the job back to AHS unfinished. And AHS tried to charge me the $60! I don't think so. more

HORRIBLE 8/25/2010

First of all this company does not even deserve one star. I have American Home Shield and they sent this company out to fix my dishwasher. I should have checked this site first and I would have seen all the other terrible reviews. They diagnosed a problem with my appliance and told me it would be 10 days before they would be able to fix it. They explained the reason for the delay is because they needed approval from American home shield . After waiting over 15 days I called Lake Area Appliance service and left one of 5 messages I proceeded to make over 7 days. No one called back so I finally called my AHS rep and they were able to get a hold of them and they said my dishwasher was fine and it needed no repair. So they misled me and AHS relied on their misrepresentation to my detriment. Now I am further delayed and my dishwasher still doesn't work. Don't use this company! more

WORST APLLIANCE REPAIR SERVICE EVER!! 8/25/2010

These people should not be in business. I completely agree with all of the other bad reviews these people have given them. If you leave a message, they WILL NEVER CALL YOU BACK!!! Very hard to schedule. I needed a part ordered and they never called me back so I had to go through my home warranty customer service to get things moving and I am still waiting for Lake Area Appliance to fix my oven. \r \r RUN FROM THESE PEOPLE!!! more

Worst Service I've ever received 8/8/2010

Not even worthy of the one star you're forced to give them. They've been attempting to fix our dishwasher now for one entire month. Have been out on 3 differenct occasions each time claiming it has been fixed. Within an hour of them leaving, same problem continues to reoccur. Only using them as I have AHS and this is who they recommend. When you call to discuss the problem, you are treated rudely by a woman who has NO clue how to service customers. Do NOT use this company unless you want high blood pressure. more

I have AHS, they called several different companys to service my samsung frige,turns out there is only two companys that can handle a samsung in my area one is sears and they where booked for the next month the other Lake area appliance.I think they did pretty good,They wore unifors,they spoke knoledgable and polite.And most important they fixed my frige.They did have to order the part,and as soon as it came in they came the next day put it on and so far it works great.The only thing about this company that needs improvement is their service vehicle, no identification on the truck.Thanks guys great job. more

What a Joke! 7/13/2010

Got them through American Home Shield to fix several appliances. One clueless tech and one hour later, nothing was fixed and he was out the door. Don't waste your time or money!! (Didn't even want to rate them one star, but had to to fill out this form!) Pros: 0 Cons: low-IQ tech had no clue what he was doing more

HORRIBLE 2/15/2010

These are the most incompetant people I have ever dealt with. The technician they sent was unable to do his job and then lied when he told me he had tested it and it was working. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE! Bad deal. I wish I didnt have to give them one star because they don't even deserve that! Pros: Nothing Cons: too many to list more

Truly the ""Three Stooges"" of appliance repair. New absolutely nothing about repair...watching them try to diagnose the problem was almost comical. Ordered a part that didn't come close to fitting the unit....blamed the part house, American Home Shield, and every other involved party. Had to hand the repair off to Sears Appliance Service. I'm guessing Sears gets a lot of business from these inept clowns. Stay away...far away. Cons: You name it....inept, poor customer service, etc. more

Excellent service call - Microwave Oven Repair 9/14/2009

We filed a claim with American Home Shield, as a part broke on the microwave oven door on our KitchenAid combo microwave oven/oven unit, causing the door to become very heavy and open much too quickly. Darrin came out the first visit and diagnosed the problem. 3 weeks later, Donnie and Darrin returned with the proper part. They took our combo unit together and replaced the part in under 30 minutes, explaining what they were doing throughout the repair, offering their take on how it happened, and even adding an improvement to the tortion springs that they had learned from additional Kitchenaid training or prior experience. Donnie and Darrin were very professional, and they completed the repair quickly and to our satisfaction. Donnie, in particular, has deep knowledge and expertise about appliance repair, and he is a great employee. Great job! Pros: Great knowledge, quick fix, very competent more

No Idea 8/19/2009

More than one month and six visits later, the repairmen at Lake Area Appliances had no idea what was the matter with my refrigerator. Frustrated, I brought out another company who had it operating again in 5 minutes. Lake Area Appliances is completely incompetent and has rude service people to boot!!! They don't even deserve one star...I'd give them zero. Cons: Incompetent more

Highly unprofessional 8/4/2009

A week ago a guy from this company came to my home and told me he needed to order two parts for my oven and he would return within 7 to 10 days to install. Today another guy came to my home and install one part and when i asked the status of the 2nd part...he said I didnt need it. I then explained that the first guy said i did and looked on the work order to show him and he said"" they should never send me to someone home where someone else has worked on"". I said can you call your company and get a status on the 2nd part and check you check my oven to make sure the part you just install works. He told me to let the oven warm up and he would go to his truck and call. I am waiting and waiting and finally i go outside to look for him and he had driven off. I called his company and complained and was told he did the job he was sent to do. Cons: Service more

Would not use this repair service again! 6/3/2009

Had a repairman (Donny) come to my home on 5/27 for a repair order sent from American Home Shield. My cooktop had 3 frozen valves. Donny looked it over and told me they need to be replaced. He figured AHS might want to just replace the cooktop. Left me a copy of the repair writeup (stating 3 valves needed to be replaced). Got a call from AHS saying my claim had been denied because the tech stated that the valves did not work due to improper maintenance. He never mentioned this to me the entire time he was here and it is not in the paperwork. \r Called Lake office (5hrs to return call) to get an explanation, was told to listen and not talk. Their tech is not required to tell me the same thing they tell AHS. I was told she didn't have to even speak to me and that I should call AHS. Totally dishonest and obviously a coordinated effort between Lake and AHS. Get yourself a legitimate repair service. Cons: Dishonest and Horrible Customer Service dept more
