Worst

Absolutely awful! Burnt goods, some bad tasting (stale) and rude service. Never going back and I don't recommend anyone else to.

In a word... OVERRATED 12/13/2011

By Golly! You Libtards need a psychiatrist! 11/29/2010

So here I was, trying to decide where to but my mini French pastries for my Christ-Mass party..... and you people have to come and smear your hateful bigotry all over a choice of desserts?!\r \r Seriously, dudes and ‘dudettes’, you need professional help!\r \r I AM BUYING MY STUFF FROM HERE…thank you for making the choice for me!\r more

Best Bakery....Period! 2/27/2009

Support the bakery and his freedom of expression. He has some of the best food in NYC and thats all that should matter. Pros: Amaizing Food! Cons: NONE!!!!! more

Do not go into the Lafayette Bakery in Greenwich Village 2/11/2009

The Baker and the evil air wave maker (Limbaugh) are two of a kind: in the business of hurting people, making fun of people and spreading evil. The result of an unhappy person. There is no place for that kind of behavior in today's world. It is simple: Do not go into the bakery. Do not listen to the Limbaugh show. Better yet; ignore them both. They will soon self destruct. Cons: A man perpetuating evil owns this bakery. more

great cookies, great sense of humor, great bakery 1/31/2009

All these people who have nothing else to do but make a big deal about nothing need to get a life!!!!! I can't wait until this place re-opens. I will be there everyday to show my support. Having the ability to make these cookies is one of the freedoms that makes this country so great. When the country is in shambles which is where it is headed, these cookies may make a come back. Instead of disturbing the neighborhood these people need to go back to theirs and leave the Lafayette Bakery alone. Long live Lafayette Bakery!!!!! Pros: great/creative food Cons: protesters outside/local news crews giving it bad publicity more

Boycott this DUMP 1/28/2009

The owner my whine that he is the victim of some ""PC Thought Police"". That simply is not the case. Racists are certainly entitled to their opinion no matter how vile. What they for get is their customers are also entitled to their opinion, which, as it turns out, is not to go to this awful, awful place. Pros: That it will be out of business soon Cons: Everything more

Lighten Up - This is New York after all 1/26/2009

Chill out. A little anti-nigger humour cant hurt. Obama is a loser who will ruin our great country. The cookies taste great!! more

Skip this one at all costs. 1/26/2009

Pastries should be made with love, these are made with hate by a not very bright baker. Don't believe me? Go to youtube and look this place up then decide for yourself. There are so many incredible bakeries and pattiseries in the city. Skip this one at all costs. Cons: ignorant, offensive pastries more

The bake goods are mediocre but the owner is an IDIOT 1/23/2009

The country is in a recession, and some bakeries are not financial well. Of course some idiot is going to come up with a gimmick to stay out of the red. Cons: An idiot owns this bakery more

Coconut cake to die for! 9/5/2007

If I was on death row I'd want their coconut cake as my last meal. It's a major effort for me not to eat something from here every day. In fact, I even had it as my wedding cake. When my parents visit from Ohio the bakery is a must visit stop for delicious breakfast pastries. They do take the month of August off for vacation so make sure you plan around that. Pros: Super friendly employees, Delicious cake Cons: Closed in August more

Scrumptious! 1/2/2003

Needing a sugar fix, my husband and I walked in here to find a wall to wall adornment of delightful confections. I had a rich and delicious chocolate mini-cake and my husband had a creme filled pastry. Both were fantastic...but the best part was the very friendly man behind the counter offering suggestions and being very patient with us as we decided. I will return here again and again. Pros: friendly service, good selection more
