Smear Campaign 7/8/2009

First I would like to make it clear that I've been going to this place for year's whenever I'm upstate for track season, and there isn't ONE place in Saratoga that compares when it comes to food quality and for the price you pay. Expensive are the other places for what you get, as the editor noted, bring friends and family and you're going to get a good deal. The review left by this fake reviewer abcde(obviously here to smear this place for unknown reasons, probably a disgruntled waitress) can only be taken as negative opinion towards this establishment since the place DOESN'T OPEN until mid-JULY. So writing a review in APRIL when the place is CLOSED could only mean one thing, BS. Anyways, if you want to get out of the little city scene of Saratoga and the restaurants that operate there, try this place. You won't be disappointed. You'll also be surprised how good the steaks are here, where you don't find such cuts anywhere else in town. Pros: Baked Clams, any Pasta Dish Cons: The service aren't pros, but get by more

Whats the big deal??? 4/28/2009

It made me SICK, I almost threw up all over my rear!!! And there was this old guy just sitting around STARING at everybody, whata creep. And this scuzzy looking guy that looks like a "cook", (notice I did not say chef, THEY know how to cook) came out of the kitchen, YUK!! Get back in there!!! The parm had WAY to much breading on it, c'mon man, is this country fried chicken??? This place is horrible, you might as well flush your $ down the toilet, just before the food you are going to up chuck that you should not pay for. Pros: you can see thru the water Cons: where should I start??? more

Editorial

  • The Scene
Heading north on Route 50 into Saratoga Springs, take a left just south of the city, not far from the Spa State Park. Twin stone pillars flank a driveway curving toward a stone mansion that looks more like a movie star's home than a restaurant. This is where family-style Italian dining meets opulent elegance.

    The Food
The menu looks expensive, but each portion is meant for two, so bring a good-sized group with a big appetite. Well-trained waitstaff will guide you through the ordering process, so if you're told that the mussel soup is good that evening, go for it.

    Dish to Die For
Somewhat familiar dishes like veal parmigiana are transformed here, so try everything like it's the first time.
