au revoir la madeleine 5/3/2010

I remember the original bakery and chef. It was magnifique. It was sad when Esquerré sold his business. I noticed the change. First menu items started changing. Management styles and staff changed. They said Bonjour, but to the new management it was just a word. The food is now just heat and serve. It is très sad! The last two times I ate there, the food was over salted. It made me sick. It breaks my heart to see this successful business, this wonderful establishment, this French culture, now wasted and processed in to a haute fast food place. Au revoir mon ami. Est là pour vous Patrick Esquerré! Merci pour les souvenirs! more

Sad Patron 1/28/2009

My daughter who is a breast cancer survivor of 9 years has always "treated" herself to your chicken ceasar sandwich when she makes the long trip to Dallas for her oncology visit. She was so very disappointed when you changed the bread. It is just not as good or the same. The same goes for the bowtie pesto pasta that you no longer have. She won't be stopping in now and that is a shame. Her excitement last week turned to disappoint when she got to Lewisville on her return home to Krum. Don't change a good thing! more

Just not what it used to be 11/14/2008

I feel terrible giving a poor review to La Madeleine, but I just feel like they lost their way. Basically the story about the great little restaurant that grew and grew and lost its way. I can't even explain it, it is always a small thing here or there, but it is just not what it used to be at any location and the Northpark location personifies the downfall. more

Viva La Madeleine! 7/28/2006

You really can't go wrong dining at La Madeleine any time day or night. Whether you're looking for a morning croissant and coffee, lunch quiche and coffee, evening salad w/ roasted chicken and coffee, and/or late night pastry and coffee you can't go wrong. Did I mention that I like coffee? Hey! With fresh baked bread, jam, butter, and water always available La Madeleine is a winner. more

i love La madeline's 4/15/2006

I love this place. This is the cutest little restaurant and their food is great. Any time you go, there is usually a crowd, that says something for the place. They have great sandwiches and soups, much different that anywhere else you go. They have great desserts. They are a little on the pricey side, but well worth the price you pay for the freshness and uniqueness of the place. more

Affordable and nice 3/30/2006

La Madeleine offers a variety of food choices. They have sandwiches, salads, pasta and pastries. The decor is nice and the prices are good. Just looking at the selection of desserts can cause your eyes to glaze over, but you must try one. I haven't found a dessert there yet that wasn't tasty. You are served in a cafeteria style way, but the servers are quick, efficient and friendly. It is truly a nice break from the "plain" soup and sandwich type places. more

Cutest place with a wonderful bakery 8/28/2005

What an adorable place to take your mother for lunch. Le Madelaine is a quaint little bistro that has very good french and american type foods. Very good salads and their bakery is out of this world. I love their fruit tarts and the chocolate chip cookies are the best I have ever had. This is a self serve type buffet, but waiters do come to the table to re-fill your glasses and see if there is anything else you need. It's the atmosphere that is the best thing about this place. You walk in and go "how cute" and you find yourself wanting to stay for a long time. I really love this place and highly recommend it. more

Try the Rosemary chicken and some hot hearty soup for the main meal, it is just divine. You can also enjoy a cup of tea or coffee with your friend while you just need to have some company after shopping... don't forget to tuck into their delicious cakes and breads that is available for testing. The pastry and cakes are great for take out too. more
