Over priced..as being a student...its a cosmetology school it should be cheaper...but they say your getting better quality i beg to differ its all professional stuff in any salon. Telling you get walk ins...don't happen you have 142 services to complete on your own..than another 150 with walk ins...& rules & prices keep going up..the front of the building is falling apart...& the school it self is dirty...definatly consider other schools & salons...you aren't saving any money when they are all about money here. more

Good: Absolutely Nothing!. Bad: The time it took for a pedicure; the unfriendliness of the gals doing them; the inferior nail polish that lasted less than an hour after it was put on. The price for a horrible job done. We actually tried to get our money back it was so horrible. A two year old can paint nails better than than. Never would I recommend that place to anyone. If that is the way they are teaching students I would have to say they are not learning anything.. Improvements: People should introduce themselves to the clients, and speak to them while working on them. they never wear name tags so you would never know who they are.. Other: All in all I have to say it was one of the worst experiences I have ever had. I would never go back and never recommend them to anyone. I would love to have my $44 back. Complete waste.. more

I have used La James' services off and on for years. They used to charge $10 for an hour massage because the therapist is a STUDENT. Now they charge $35 for that same service... yet it is still given by a STUDENT. I went this week for a full set of acrylic nails which was $25 (no different than anywhere else). I had to go back TWICE just so the set could be finished because it took the first girl over an hour and a half to just get the tips on. Then she is telling me how she doesn't really like doing acrylics and she's really really slow. The second girl who tried to clean the nails up for me did a nice job. However, I've already had to superglue three nails back on... and this is only 2 days later! They didn't put polish on because they had such a piss poor offering of about 20 colors (including orange and bright blue... because so many people would choose those, I'm sure). I also had a facial this week. I choose the $65 one because it had everything from the other facials plus more. I was told it would take over an hour and a half. Well 60 minutes and it was done, no massage... just a mask. The receptionist obviously did not know the products they sell as she was the reason I chose the expensive one. I was looking forward to the arm massage and got nothing. I can honestly say that I will NOT be going back to La James again. They are a school and should be charging for the services accordingly. These students are NOT professionals, they are training to BE professionals. more

This is a great place to get a hair cut, color, perm or anything else you hair desires. They also offer a day spa that you can treat your nails too or a massage that is awesome. They are students, but are watched very closely by their instructors. I have been happier with their services than many other places. If you don't like it, you feel very comfortable letting the instructor know and they take care of it. more
