Benchmark for Houston Mexican Food 6/25/2009

I have been eating at La Fiesta since the 1st one opened on Bunker Hill. My parents and there friends would go every week. Even as a kid, I never grew bored with that wonderful taste of La Fiesta. Mr and Mrs Gonzalez poured there souls and children into this business. Now the 3 boys are taking over. 3 restaurants now. The newest opens Saturday 6/27/09 replacing the landmark location on Bunker Hill., and It's just around the corner. 1 mile away on Gaylord Drive. Behind Office Max. Look for the Red neon signs. AWESOME. See you there! 9427 Katy Fwy, Houston, TX? - (713) 464-3873? Pros: Prompt service-Hot food-Affordable price Cons: They dont offer delivery more

Good Food for Good Price 5/20/2009

You're crazy Nikki. I'm not sure which location you went to, but you're way off base. This isn't a top end place, but it's good based on the prices. Go there and have fun!!! more

Worse Mexican Ever!! 4/17/2009

Wow. I have never had anything so disgusting in my life! I can't believe it! This actually hands down is the worst restaurant I have ever been to! I'm hispanic so naturally I have higher standards when it comes to Mexican food. But I think Taco Bell is gourmet compared to these folks. I rather eat there any day. \r \r As if the food wasn't bad enough! The service was the worst I have ever experienced also. Never have I had such rude of a waiter! And I'm actually a very pleasant customer. I never complain and I'm always very nice. So when he came to take my order and was like ""ok what do you want?"" I was so blown away. Wow. He continued to be an a$$ the entire time. Needless to say I won't be going back there. Cons: The food and the service. more

really going down hill watch for crappy not so fresh lettuce and avocados 4/12/2008

i have eaten at this place for a long time and the past year or so the food has gotten saltier and really oily. the last straw was when i ordered food for the whole office and when we got the guacamole, it was BLACK. one of the office ladies ran back over and was told that was ""normal, because we dont use anything to preserve it"". Come on! lemon? the guy refused to give us edible guac and wouldnt give back any money. i sure wont eat here again. cazadoras on kingsride dr is better food and cheaper...still trashy surroundings, but at least its not a hole in the floor serving black inedible avocados! Cons: food has taken down turn over the past year, darkness more

BEST MEXICAN FOOD AROUND! 8/1/2003

I have been going to La Fiesta since it opened on Bunker hill (saw Dusty from ZZTOP at the table next to mine) very exciting! I ordered the Ranchero plate and fell in love. I have ordered several different types of plates and all were great, but my favorite still till this day is the Ranchero plate. Best enchiladas in all of Houston, well really anywhere that I have found. The cheese dip, chips, salsa, guacamole all great! I have found my way to the Westheimer location just because it's now closer to me but the food is the same great taste! I LOOOVVE IT, and will always be a fan. Pros: BEST MEXICAN FOOD, GREAT PRICES, PERSONAL SERVICE more

The best Tex-Mex in Texas 9/17/2002

My wife and I've been going to the La Fiesta on Westheimer @ Hayes since they first opened back in late 1995. Were one of the first 10 customers. They have fair prices on the best Tex-Mex dishes one can find. The chips, salsas, margaritas, enchiladas, guac, chili con queso, la charra beans, quesadaillas, fajitas, etc, etc, cannot be beaten IMHO, by anyplace else. Every dish is a winner. We judge all tex-mex by La Fiesta. My wife and I moved out of Houston, and we still make weekend trips back, the sole purpose of which is to satisfy our need for dinner and frozen margaritas at La Fiesta. They still have many of the same staffers at that location that remember us from day one, thats impressive, low turnover. Consistently delicious food and excellent service. more
