La Corneta Taqueria

La Corneta is pretty much the only decent budget place to eat in the Glen Park area, which is why you can expect the line to be about 20-30 people deep at any given time of the day. But the line actually moves quickly and for the great food, it's worth it. Prices aren't as cheap as in the mission, but I think quality is a bit better. With burritos, you can choose the type of tortilla you'd like (spinach, etc.), types of beans, and there is even a vegetarian option with tofu. Carnitas are great as is the seafood, like prawns. They even have a ceviche tostada. A huge plate of nachos with beans, cheese, and salasa is only $3.50! Only complaint is that while agua frescas are cheap, the cup sizes are way off. I had to ask if the medium size was correct because it was so tiny! Is the small the size of a dixie cup?? more

The fact that this place is amazing is no secret. I've never walked past it without there being a line. This place has everything I mean seafood, different kinds of steak, different kinds of chicken, TOFU! Amazing salsa verde and a huge menu that offers everything. Even their horchatas are amazing! They have two burrito sizes, baby and regular and a variety of tortillas and 3 different kinds of beans. Stop by for just a taco or an entire meal I promise you won't be sorry. Open until 10 and a block away from the bart too! more

If you are in the Glen Park area and want some affordable tasty Mexican then head over to La Corneta. It can get crowded at peak hours and parking can be somewhat of a problem but it is well worth the wait. Compared to other Mexican restaurants in the area (outer Mission) I like their burritos and nachos much better. more
