If you don't care about your clothes...use them. 1/9/2010

Only take your clothes here if you are willing to let someone handle them who has A) no regard for the outcome, B) can't tell the difference between a Chanel or a garment from Forever 21, and C) when they ruin your favorite dress will not take responsibility for it. If you're cool with that...then this is the place for your to take your clothes. Through referrals, I trusted them enough to take my YSL dress to them. Big mistake. They cleaned the stain so hard that the dye actually came out of the dress, and they cut open the seams of the dress. They handed it to me on a hanger with the seams ripped open and a big round bleach-like mark. They apologized that the stain didn't really come out, but made no mention of the fact that they ruined the overall dye and as a result broke down the fibers of the dress in said location. When I asked them about this and the seams. They were adamant that the seams were already open! They also refused to take any responsibility for the result. Run away as fast as you can, even if you're a loyal customer. It's a matter of time before they show their true colors and treat you and your clothes like garbage. Don't say you were not adequately warned. Take your really good stuff to French Hand Laundry in Pasadena or Browns in Santa Monica. As for your regular stuff....there's gotta be a thousand better alternatives than this place. Do your research. I really wish I had on this one. I will never make the same mistake again. Pros: cheap Cons: will eventually ruin your clothes and not care! more

Au contraire, the best dry cleaners in town! 11/24/2009

First off I was surprised to read the above comment. I personally know Art and find him to be very gentle and kind. As for his father, he is impeccable with tailoring. I've had my wedding dress cleaned and preserved and lots of clothes laundered & dry cleaned. Am extremely happy with their service and especially their hours of operation. I only wish they were on the East side! Oh well, I still drive the miles for La Brea Cleaners... HIGHLY RECOMMENDED so PLEASE IGNORE THE ABOVE COMMENT by the dude with the broken zipper! Pros: great value, family owned-friendly staff Cons: none whatsover more

Damaged My Suit Pants and Refused to Repair Them 5/29/2009

I have laundered my shirts at La Brea Cleaners for 10+ years. Yesterday that relationship was terminated. The father and son (Muradian family) that run it are very friendly and courteous. Much more that the former ownership. The current owners have never lost one of my shirts, which is impressive. Now the bad news. I asked them to dry-clean a pair of wood suit pants. The pants looked great afterward, but the zipper would not move without applying an enormous amount of strength and was essentially stuck. The zipper worked fluidly for years prior to the cleaning. Upon returning the pants to them, I gently asked them to REPAIR THE DAMAGE AND THE SON REFUSED. I was angry that they impaired my garment and declined to restore it to functioning order. He didn't seem to care that I have been a long time patron. So I bid farewell to them and their unethical, cheapskate policies. Pros: very friendly and courteous Cons: unethical cheapskates more

GREAT CLEANERS, THE NEW OWNERS ARE AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 5/22/2008

I have been using La Brea Cleaners for a couple of years now. I am there every week. The service is exceptional. I have never had a single complaint. The prices are reasonable and I trust them completely. They provide personal service, always remember my name and even the most stubborn stains get removed completely, every time. I like how they never wash my clothes with other clients' clothes. Try them, I guarantee you will become a customer for life. more

They lost my service - AVOID 9/23/2005

La Brea Cleaners used to be owned by a great couple. They sold it in 2004 to a new owners who boasted of being LA Magazine's ""Best Cleaners"". The new owners are HORRIBLE. Burn spots began appearing on my dress shirts and they blamed ME (even for BRAND NEW shirts that I hadn't even worn yet)! I politely asked the very rude owner what happened - she glared at me and yelled ""WE DO OUR BEST!"" Other folks I know who used to go here have stopped for the same reason. I'm the nice guy who stayed too long and have a closet full of burned spotted dress shirts for my loyalty. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Cons: Stained Clothes, Rude Service, Unreliable more

USE THIS CLEANERS AT YOUR OWN RISK 10/1/2003

I have tried this place on two occassions. The first time I brought a large number of pieces. When I picked them up, I was informed that some of the spots could not be removed. I didn't recall any spots on my clothing, but took the cloths home and checked some of the slacks. Indeed, there were a couple of spots on the pants. I couldn't remember if they were there when I brought them in, so I gave them the benefit of the doubt. The second occasion I brought in one tie. When I picked it up the tie had been ruined. At first she said she didn't see the spots and then said it was my fault. She would not honor the policy of paying for the damage nor would she agree to pay for the cost of the tie. Cons: bad service, not honorable more
