Amazing margaritas and a spectaculat happy hour!

My wife and I were curious about the place simply by its flashy exterior. It seems that the owners have done a very good job catering to the majority of people that think that Me...

The best place ever to enjoy great food 11/21/2007

WOW!! The service was great, the food was beyond belief. Friendly people great prices I go there everytime I am in austin! Pros: Customer Service more

Blah! Food was not great, service was bad, atmosphere was below generic 11/5/2007

We went here after seeing a line at the first place we wanted to go to. I guess we should have took that as a sign! My boyfriend ordered the spinach enchiladas and I kept it simple with a cheese and bean burrito. The rice was gummy and my burrito was flavorless. My boyfriend-who the least picky eater I know-took one bit of his enchiladas and quickly stopped mid-bite looking horrified. After waiting about 15 minutes for our waiter to come back he brought us our ticket and then disappeared again. If the place was busy we would understand but.....there was no reason for it. To add to it all the staff seemed to be comatose. We are never going back! Pros: No waiting due to everyone else knowing how bad it is Cons: food, service, decor more

breakfast - go for breakfast 6/23/2007

best tex-mex breakfast north side of the colorado in austin. go for breakfast. everything else, well, its the same stuff at the other million tex-mex places in austin. Pros: staff is good. breakfast rocks. Cons: none really. other mexican is good. more

Best Tex-Mex in Town! 5/21/2007

What a great place to eat or have happy hour. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is uplifting, and the service is prompt and friendly. Do yourself a favor and check it out! Don't forget to order the whitewings for your appetizer! Pros: Fabulous whitewings appetizers, homemade tortillas more

Good Food 4/16/2007

Went today and was pleased with their food. Their green sauce was a little to hot for me. Had their lunch special and was really good. Was pleased with our service also. more

Long wait, Terrible Service, tasteles food 3/15/2007

I was hoping the service at the restaurant would be better than the old location but it is just as bad. \r \r They keep you waiting FOREVER to be seated even when there is avail. seating, the wait staff is totally incompetent and rude and the food is not much better.\r \r Save the time and money and heat up a frozen mexican dinner... more

best fajitas in town 11/11/2006

I went on a friday night it was busy and 1hour wait, but after i sat down with my family we had a great time. they were very busy, so the food took about 18min. to come out, but it was worth waiting for. The service is great and there is always a manager talking to custumers and making sure that everything is great. There is a young GM that works hard with his staff . 9 out of 10 times that you go there things wil be great. more

don't bother with this place 10/14/2006

Bad service, bland prefab-ish food. Tried multiple sauces and all were unappealing, gelatinous and just didn't taste good. Got better service from the bussers than the waitstaff. I don't see why anyone would choose to eat here with so many better (and less expensive) Mexican restaurants in the Round Rock area. PROS: lots of seating, large parking lot CONS: quality of food, service, price more

not recommended for many reasons - ask a local, they'll tell you to steer clear 10/13/2006

I hadn't eaten here for several years before today and now i wish i hadn't returned. My food was bland, poorly assembled and the different sauces were unappealing. Any time you're served guacamole that looks like its been sitting out for several hours it should tip you off immediately that food quality is not considered a priority. Service was slow, even with an almost empty dining room and had to ask 3 times for some items to be brought out. With so many better and more affordable mexican and tex/mex restaurants in this area to choose from, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. You won't regret it. Pros: lots of seating, large parking lot Cons: quality of food, service, price more

No surprises 8/20/2006

I like La Margarita. My husband and I usually just sit at the bar and get appetizers. I can wolf down their salsa - they usually have to fill it up at least 3 times! I've also been for lunch with work mates and it was good, but not really anything special. more

Best Mex in Texas 7/25/2006

Eat there a minimum of 1x/week and the food and service are always the best. Wait time on weekends has definitely improved. My job has me traveling to Houston and San Antonio, but I always come back to La Margarita for my Mexican food fix!! Make sure you try the White Wings appetizer and the fajitas for 1 will feed 2. The frozen margaritas are the coldest in Texas although hubby swears by their top shelf rocks rita. Staff and Managers consistently stop by our table to make sure everything was to our liking. Leave a little room for dessert - they are one of the few places to serve a homemade empanada and their flan (which I never liked until theirs) is to die for! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! more

Great service, food so so 7/3/2006

The service is awesome, but after several meals there....I wasn't impressed. The salsa was good, but the actual food itself wasn't that great. Pros: great service Cons: so so food more

Great Food, Iffy Service 1/23/2006

Our first visit here was amazing. The food was great and the service more than commendable. We had a few so-so visits after that though where the food didn't really taste that fresh or even good and the service was slow even during non-peak times. On our last visit we were seated in the bar area (against our wishes) and we did not even SEE our server in the 20 minutes we sat there. My husband and I left and haven't been back since. The food there is awesome when the cook staff is on their game (their Enchiladas de Crema are amazing) but after a few times being burned by the staff we just lost our patience. PROS: good quality of food most of the time CONS: service is hit-or-miss more

Another Tex-Mex 12/23/2005

This place was ok. If you are looking for another Tex-Mex place that tastes just like everybody elses. Salsa wasn't hot at all. Enchiladas were just thrown together! The only thing was the Margaritas YUM more

Nice place 12/20/2005

I have only been for lunch since they have moved into the larger building, but have been over 30 times. I have never had to wait for a table and the lunch menu is very good. The food is great too, not too spicy not too bland. PROS: Price, food, staff CONS: Nada more

Best Mex-Tex Food in Austin area 11/30/2005

New larger building just down street from old location -parking lot is always full -Love the home-made tamales -great enchiladas -chips. Go early to avoid the long lines -I'm working my way down the menu -all good so far --picante sauce for chips is very spicy -be prepared. Enjoy! PROS: great mex-tex food CONS: long wait - spicy picante more

Wonderful Mexican Restaurant 11/2/2005

I have been a frequent patron of this restaurant for over 2 years. They have wonderful food! You can watch while the homemade torillas are being made in front of you. The atmosphere is great and the waiters are wonderful. The food is medium priced as well as the drinks. They have a patio for outside dining which is great on summer nights. PROS: CONS: during peaks periods the wait can be over an hour more

Total Dining Experience 11/18/2003

La Margarita is the ""total"" dining experience...the food is too delicious for words to describe! It has great ambience, the restauarant is very neat and clean, and the service is superior....they even remembered my name! They also have a wonderful breakfast menu! Pros: Food, Service, Atmosphere more
