McDonalds is my favorite place for picking up breakfast on the way to work, and I often stop in the Uptown McDonalds to do this. Sometimes picking up dinner on the way home as well. In the past year, this location has really declined in terms of service and quality. On the positive side, they do cook your food when you order it (you rarely get fries or anything which has been holding in the queue) and that's a big plus. However communicating with their staff is often difficult. They usually understand English just fine, but it's hard to understand them. Maybe I should practice my Spanish ! They also have cut the staffing (or so it appears) even during peak times. I stopped by for breakfast yesterday during peak rush hour and they only had one person working the register and driv-thru both at the same time, and one person doing the cooking. There was a quite a line waiting to be served. Also the owner of this location has gotten very stingy with napkins and condiments. If you don't ask for condiments for fries, burritos, etc you won't get them and if you do, you get as little as possible. I purched a Southwest Salad from this location and discovered spoiling lettuce and that the lime inside was black and spoiling. The date on it was the same date I purchased it. I complained to the company and got no response from this location or an answer as to what the date mean't. Be careful ordering slow moving items here such as salads or parfaits. Quality at this location is not a surprise given that it's in Uptown. Uptown maybe cool, hip, and trendy and fun to live in, but many of the businesses take their large volume of business for granted and slack off on service and quality. I think this place maybe suffering form what. I call it ""Uptown Syndrome"" - we don't have to be good, because we are here. We know we are going to get tons of business no matter what we do. I hope they improve.
