I am in the minority when I disagree with the rating of L & B. The pizza was a novelty and for awhile fabulous, but now other neighborhood pizzerias have perfected the L & B squa...

Not the way to be treated............. 11/23/2011

I went there with my wife for a special occasion dinner. We LOVE the pizza and the restaurant is usually good. The nbasic food we ordered was OK baked zite, chicken cutlet parm and fried calamri.\r the service was terrible. I pay attention alot. Unless you were one of there favorite regular customers they didit care about us at all. We were squeezed into a small table space. Waited over 5 minutes for SOMEONE to at least notice us. A bus buy brought bread. Anotehjr 5 minutes oir so a waiter came and took the order. Never brought my wife her beverage. Had to finad and ask a bus boy again. finaklly a waiter took our order and that was the last we saw him. waited a long time for the above mentions baasics and the pasta with my chicken parm was so overcooked and it looked like ketchup on top of the pasta.\r The buis boy bagged our leftovers. waited about 15 miutes of what would have been dessert but got pissed waiting so long we could get ice cream on our way home.\r \r It seem to be a place where their good ole boy regulars get all the attention and they dont give a dam about the ""others"" the bus boys english wasnt all that good but they did everything right fo me so i was happy. I should have tipped the bus boys instead. \r \r The should stick to their pizza. Although those guys are a little cranky but its only pizza and dont have to deal with them for too long.\r \r Dont know what happened but its not the place it used to be like the story of feeling like family on the back of their menu. \r \r Wont be visiting any time soon for sure ! more

Run for best pizza! 7/2/2011

If you never try this pizza .... you lost a lot. Well priced...the cheese is delicious!!! more

ciao bella 6/27/2011

Best pizza in the world hands down. Do not try to order toppings on your slice rookies. I have also been known to eat 2 or 3 ices afterwards, lemon and rainbow rule the leaderboards. Even though you see other people including cops double parked dont do it. The sicilian pie will look funny if you havent had the goodness yet. Trust the reviews, its not likely you will find a better slice anywhere at anytime. I laugh when non new yorkers tell me where the best pizza in nebraska is. This would likely overload them with the realness. I feel like driving over right now. The food network should really revisit this place and make it 10 times busier than it is now. I can't see people not experiencing this. more

must have their squares! 6/20/2011

love eating there in the summer, the squares w/ the crust is awesome! not sure why everyones so crazy about the spumoni though. i prefer frozen yogurt, ice cream, or just an italian icy. more

Got My Vote! 5/29/2011

I don't know who makes the best pizza in Brooklyn. Mostley, it is a matter of taste. There are a lot of really good pizza places, and L&G is one of them. It sure is popular with the locals. At lunch time, the place is crowded with policemen, firemen and local workers all ordering pizza.\r \r L&G also offers a nice assortment of authentic Italian dishes. They put broccoli rabe on most of their sandwiches. The prices are reasonable and the food is very good.\r \r The spumoni ice cream is home made and it is outstanding. They say, their spumoni is the best in North America. I don't know if that is true, but it sure is the best that I have ever tasted anywhere. \r \r \r Only reason I give them a 4 instead of 5 is the minimum wage people they hire whom don't speak a word of english which blantantly translates in to poor service. more

probably the best pizza on the planet. 4/9/2011

light, tasty, rich, crisp -- it has it all. can easily go through 4 slices because of the taste and its so light. always go here. more

my favorite pizza 3/15/2011

I love L&B's pizza, i would say is the best pizza in brooklyn.\r \r The only bad thing is that during winter it is impossible to eat there i always have to pick up my pizza .... I hope this changes and the owners invest a little bit more on the location, they are very famous now and they could do a little bit more for customers. more

pizza is great 3/14/2011

pizza is great. the food in the dining area is a large portion but it isnt that tasty. pretty bland. tastes like they use their pizza sauce for everything. more

Hot plates are awful at L&B; but best squares.... 1/13/2011

I'be been having square slices at L&B for years and their square slices have always been great but their hot food is horrible--no taste and very bland. If you want real good Italian food that's not made by the Arabs at L&B, go to Benny's in Westbury, LI. You won't be disappointed. --Pauly D. more

Yumm 11/16/2010

I'm a Brooklyn local and just tried this pizza for the first time ever . . I know, WEIRD. I saw it on Man vs. food and was like wow . . thats like 10 minutes away from me. The cheese on the bottom/sauce on top is genious . . I'm about to go get some more, YUMMM. more

BEST PIZZA IN NYC!!!! 10/5/2010

Every time I go there The Pizza is amazing!! The Sicilian Slice is my favorite.Wish they had more locations. Always crowded with people and to top it off they got spumoni ices!!!! Can't wait to eat there again!!! great Job Guys!! more

Not what is was. 9/2/2010

The dough is different now but when it was italian owned it was the best slice you ever had. It still is good but before the mid-90's it was to die for. more

Great Place to Grab a Square 7/13/2010

This place has been around for years. The only reason to go is to indulge a tasty sicilian square. Their sauce is sweet and tasty. I would recommend eating one and sitting outdoors. They have an inside restaurant as well but it's nothing to brag about. The entrees do not have an authentic Italian taste to them. Instead they are rather oily and greasy. I've gone a few times and have wanted to like this place more but I wouldn't eat inside anymore. more

Best Sicilian 6/28/2010

Grab a sicilian, fork, knife, and hurry and find a seat. As delicious as their pizza is and as big as their outdoor dining area is... this place is ALWAYS packed. During the spring / summer time, it's nearly impossible to find parking and people are always double parked in the front. If they run out of pizza, you never have to worry about waiting a while for the next pie to come out. The icee spot has many different flavors, makes a delicious dessert. Cons: Always packed during summertime more

L&B Spumoni Gardens 4/30/2010

I am 48yrs Old & eat out atleast 3-4 Times a week. I've hit most places in NYC & am shocked that anyone could give this place 1 star. THEY MUST BE SPUMONI GARDEN COMPETITORS. I could understand if someone rated the food 3 or 4 stars perhaps because they are accustommed to lets say Olive Garden. But please be serious. The quality of the pizza crust, cheeses & sauce here is delicious and very unique. I have eaten at atleast 250 pizza restaurants & this is one on the very best. \r If your in the mood for fresh italian dishes you can't go wrong. My Family had the Chef Table Lite here for $25/ person and We received a huge salad with cheese - Very fresh & well decorated in a large rectangular plate. For Appetizers we were give Jumbo Shrimp 50% fried & 50% Boiled with multiple dipping sauces & a plate of Top notch Baked Clams. Next they brought out a wide homemade paste (About 1"" Wide) with fresh greens on tap & Vodka sauce - it was deliciuos. For the main course we were given Veal Marsala topped with eggplant pieces in a sauce to die for and a side dish of scrumptious pan fried Broccolli with garlic. After we revied literally a ""Kitchen Sink"" of Italian cakes, pasteries & spumoni. Also included in $25 price was all our sodas & coffee. This place is simply awesome & the portions are huge, Service was above average(Mostly Foreign Waiters & Bussers with poor english) & there was not much for decor. We went on a weekday so there was very little wait. Weekends you can expect to wait 45min to 2hr for a table. I've eaten here many other times & just about every dish they prepare rates in the top 5%-10% for NYC. I hate to give this place such a good review because now even more people will come and make my wait more diffilcult but if your looking to go for food freshness, quality, portion size, taste & price. THEN RUN TO SPUMONI GARDENS and don't let the phoney COMPETITOR 1 star REVIEWS through you off. By the way I've never written a review but felt compelled when I saw such bullshit. \r So Enjoy. \r \r \r Pros: Mouth Watering Sicillian Pizza & Awesome Plates -Cheap Cons: Long Waits for the restaurant but lines for pizza are OK more

THE BEST SICILIAN SLICE IN NEW YORK 4/3/2010

Spumoni Gardens has the best Sicilian slice in New York. This is the plain and simple truth. Some people don't go for Sicilian, and that's fine, but if you order the round pie, don't be surprised when it's mediocre. This is the place to go for pizza the way grandma used to make. Pros: Outdoor seating, deliciousness Cons: Long lines more
