Damage to my car. 5/30/2011

I took my car in for an oil change. Sometime after I got a check engine light. I took my car to my mechanic at Firestone and he told me that there was no oil in my crankcase. Kwik Kar drained my oil, changed the filter but never put any oil back in. I was charged $128 for the diagnostic fee and to refill my engine. I was told that there is no way to know for sure how much wear or damage had occurred but that there would be some degree of both. I have been calling the store for weeks and the “Manager” says that he has no authority to provide any form of compensation. He said that the owner is the only one that can provide this but that he has no way of contacting him. Also, with a smug and defiant attitude he states “You should have brought the car back to us”. Unbelievable! After a brief thought of explaining the irony in this, I realized it would most likely be lost on him and saved my breath. I have filed a complaint with the BBB, of which they are not an accredited member, and sent a certified letter containing the receipts and required resolution. In my opinion this is a crime and I shouldn’t have to weigh the cost of the crime against the cost of seeking recompense. The consumer protection laws in this county are extremely lacking. These people can be as negligent as they want and as long as the cost of taking them to court exceeds the cost of the original dispute they win. This is wrong. Something to note: The true character of man is revealed after he has no one left answer to. My advice, go somewhere else and tell everyone you know to never us e this place. more

Where's The Management? 9/2/2010

I came by at 9:00 AM on a Thursday to get a vehicle inspection. The guy that came out to help me told me that it would be about 45 minutes and that there were 3 others in front of mine. I said ok and sat in the customer waiting area. After waiting 45 minutes of waiting and observing this is what I found:\r \r 1. There was only 1 vehicle in front of mine as the 2 that the worker thought he had was one for an oil change and one for an inspection. \r 2. The oil change that I just referred to was improperly carried out as they had used regular oil instead of the synthetic oil that the customer had requested. After the worker changed the oil and installed the synthetic oil, they failed to change the filter also and the oil change had to be done a 3rd time. \r 3. All the while this was going on the vehicle inspector had completed the one vehicle that was in front of mine and allowed the completed vehicle inspection to remain in the service bay with the engine running while he and two other of his buddies were screwing around, laughing and cutting up while the service bay was filling with carbon monoxide and three other potential customers had come and gone in disgust because the wait times were too long and there was nobody working in the office to take their work orders. \r \r I finally gave up after waiting 50 minutes and left. I have been using this establishment for years and have never encountered such incompetence and a lack of customer support. This doesn't begin to address the OSHA violations that were observered. I couldn't tell if the management was non-existent or if one of the 7 little boys that were working there was a make believe manager or what. Each one of these Quick Car Establishments Are individually owned and operated. Either the Owner/manager doesn't give a flip about their customer base or they aren't involved in running the day to day operation. \r \r I did come to the conclusion that one thing is for certain, stupid runs rampant at the Quick Car Lube and Tune in Seabrook Texas\r more

Could be better if not run by children 7/2/2008

Sub-par service - they make a mess of the engine bay with oil, fluids, forgot to remove their oily rag off header, missing splashguard screws which led to complete failure and the guard flying off, vaccuming all my loose change ""accidentally"". I wish i wasnt lazy myself to change the oil. My fault for relying on these kids.\r Pending how tired they are will they inspect your car, for example getting there at 5:10 pm is too late for service when they close at 6. I actually saw the inspection kid shaking his head no then they sent a 16 year old looking girl to tell me to come back tomorrow as they were not taking any more cars. More like Jr wanted to go home early. I guess she is the jailbait messenger so you wont get angry. Really there are few places to get a 100% happy service feeling, but at least try to act like you care enough to put screws back into the customers car so it wont fall apart. Pros: quick service Cons: too quick and forget to put things back, parking is an accident waiting to happen more
