Best

I loved this restaurant. My friends and I (group of 7) decided to have a late dinner around 11 P.M., but service was great. Others have put bad reviews for service, but that must ...

Worst

I went to the restaurant with my girlfriend and her family. I did expect a good everning because the one in Queens is good. Sadly, it isn't. The price are same, but the portion...

I love Korean bbq 4/14/2006

This is my favorite restaurant in K-town; there is a waterfall inside and a piano on the second floor. I love Korean barbecue--kaibi and bulgogi--are so good, and like most places, you have the option of cooking it right at your table. It does come already made, but where is the fun in that? If you do get the barbecue dishes though, you will stink of Korean food until your next shower. Don't say I didn't warn you. more

Kum Gang San is great 3/22/2006

The atmosphere is really nice, the service is quick and good and the food is delicious. My favorite is Kimchi Chi Gae - it is thick and delicious and it always has slices of dduk which I love in chigae. The panchan is good also - and I love getting fruit at the end of the meal. The barbeque is expensive (kalbi, bulgogi) but if you stick with the non-barbeque items, the bill is usually not bad. The haemul pajun is also wonderful. And it's open 24/7 - always a nice treat after a night out. more

BBQ at Your Table 3/21/2006

This is one of the places where you can BBQ right at your table. Dishes for the BBQ come with free appetizers. The number of appetizers depend on how many dishes you order. The meat comes out raw and you use tongs to put the meat on the grill and cook it. Vegetables, beef, chicken, and seafood are offered to BBQ. Beware that if you BBQ at your table your clothes absorb the smell of the food and smell like BBQ for a few days. If you do not like to BBQ at your table, then regular dishes (those cooked in the kitchen) are also offered. Décor is very nice (waterfall, tables, seats). On certain days a musician plays Korean music. Prices are high, so it’s only good to go to once in awhile. more

Pretty good 8/4/2005

Just had dinner here last night with a friend. I loved all the different little appetizer dishes. I ordered the Bim Bap with shredded beef with stone plating. My friend ordered the short rib soup and she said it was delicious. No complaints, it was very very good. Their menu also includes Japanese choices. Yes my meal was a bit expensive, but I would go again and try other dishes. You get fast service too! more

Good Food and Atmosphere (but for a price) 2/25/2005

Kum Gang Sang is pricey Korean bbq. The food is good and the restaurant (with it's indoor "waterfall", piano, and traditionally clad hostesses) is striking, but keep in mind that you will pay a little extra compared to some other choices in Koreatown. more
