I was a long time patient and considered Marilyn a pleasant, well mannered and friendly person. She was however in my opinion and experience highly over-confident and highly under-skilled with her ability to treat effectively. Claiming a great deal of knowledge about my particular diagnoses, PTSD and Chronic Depression, I can see now she needs a few courses on the basics of what to do and what not to do. She was the first therapist I had ever worked with, so I guess you could say I didn't know the difference. Now I do. My condition is quite serious. The number of Doctors and Therapists I have worked with since Marilyn usually drop their jaw when I tell them some of the things she said and did. The most shocking is I walked in one day for my appointment and without warning or explanation she said she 'could no longer be my therapist.' No explanation. None. No follow-up session. None. No follow-up phone call. None. No follow-up letter. None. Yet the next day she was seeing other patients as usual. A therapist has every right to cease seeing a patient, but not without explanation or professional follow-up. If you proceed...please take great caution.
