Best

This is my favorite Chinese food restaurant in the whole state. The food is very delicious and the service is very good also. I have been coming ...

Worst

Very friendly but the sauces were either over salty or inappropriately sweet. The chicken soup was great but the egg flower was all overcooked canned veggies in oversalted broth.

BEST RESTAURANT EVERRR 2/20/2008

Seriously people. It's the best Chinese place i've ever been to. Amazing service, good food, pretty ladies :). They do their best to provide fast service and good food. They succeed in it. Sure, there's going to be somebody that has a bad experience there, but maybe it's the person, not the restaurant. Even those who do have a bad experience there, keep coming back. Thats saying something huh. Pros: Everything. Cons: Nothing. more

Best Szechuan Beef anywhere 2/20/2008

I came to this restaurant out of a recommendation from my friend. He said to try out the sweet and sour chicken, so i did. The sweet and sour chicken was pretty okay in my opinion, but what has gotten me to come back to this restaurant was their Szechuan Beef. It was really delicious, even though it's pretty much just different types of onions and beef, but the sauce is incredible. If you want you can get it cantonese style, which is $1.00 more to add some soft chow mein noodles in it, you'll lose the white rice that usually comes with it but it's worth it. You won't see the option doing it cantonese style in the menu, but if you ask the waiter/waitress, he/she will say that you can do it that way. In Conclusion, whenever I go to Kowloon the first thing I ordered is always their Szechuan Beef Cantonese Style. Pros: Prompt service and family friendly environment more

DO NOT GO HERE!!!! 8/21/2007

This place is HORRIBLE!!! They basically serve some kind of meat with this gelatinous, gooey sauce. There is no flavor to anything....not even the rice! Save yourselves! Do not, ever, go to this restaurant. Pros: The service was the only thing good in this place. Cons: The FOOD more

Excellent Restaurant! HIghly Recommend A++ 7/28/2007

Great Restaurant! I have heard so many wonderful things about the Kowloon Cafe and I am glad I was finally able to try it out for myself! I am very pleased with my meal and the service was great. The sesame chicken, egg rolls, ham fried rice, and egg drop soup is only a few of my favorites. I also loved the chinese family style dinners because it allowed for us to get a wide array of dishes at great prices! The steaks and fish are also quite tasty. Pros: Great Prices, Friendly Service, Awesome Food! more

please reconsider 6/12/2007

first off, any chinese restaurant that serves american food (i.e. steak, french fries, hamburgers) is not a real chinese restaurant, but this restaurant was recommended to me so i tried it. i just moved out here from new jersey and chinese is a staple in our community so i was excited to try it out here. ive been to three separate restaurants so far and nothing could qualify as chinese food. kowloons was a nightmare to say the least. we started off with egg drop soup that tasted like a bad cup of campbell's chicken noodle. we got our meal with a cup of hot mustard and ketchup??? ive never eaten ketchup at a chinese restaurant but i shrugged it off and began my meal. the spare ribs were mostly fat, the lo mein or chow mein whichever you prefer, was not cooked thoroughly and was crunchy, my beef was white, bordering on clear. im sorry for all the fans of this restaurant, but i will continue my search for authentic chinese cuisine in the salt lake area. Pros: posters of pro athletes on the wall Cons: posters of pro athletes on the wall more

Two thumbs up 11/8/2005

Kowloon cafe offers a wide variety of chinese and traditional american cuisines. The sesame chicken is highly recommanded, the special sauce is just superb. A must if you are in the neighborhood. Pros: Food, Varieties Cons: It gets busy sometime more

Sweet & Sour Bliss!!! 8/2/2005

Kowloon Cafe's got a mixture of American and Chinese food, both produce mouth watering effects! You have to try the sweet and sour pork/chicken/shrimp! And if you're in the mood for American, I would recommend the melt in your mouth Prime Rib! I love it! Setting is quiet, and the food is just fantastic! A++ Pros: Great Price, Good Parking, 10% Take Out 4-10pm! more

Good Chinese Food 7/11/2004

This is basic good Chinese food. The sweet and sour pork can be a little tough sometimes, but the ham fried rice is good, the eggs rolls are excellent, the portions are plentiful. It is a busy, busy place - full of familys and can be quite noisy, but it is the best chinese place in an area full of oriental eateries. Pros: food, location Cons: , so-so atmosphere, noisy more

Egg Rolls Recommended 12/26/2003

Kowloon Cafe is one of my favorite restaurants. I would highly recommend it to anyone who loves good Chinese food. It is a great atmosphere with great service. And when you do go, make sure you try the egg rolls. more

A Hidden Utaah Jewel 12/25/2003

The Kowloon was one of the best restaruants that I have ever eaten at. For the new people who are going to go there, ask for an order of eggrolls to start out with. Then order anything chicken there, you can't go wrong with their chicken, raging from sesame, to kungpoa, to sweet and sour and lemon chicken. Also get the Cantonese style chowmein, it's a dollar extra, but well worth it. more
