This place used to be great and my fiance and I would always go--it was our favorite place to eat Korean food in the Triangle and we would sometimes eat there a few times a month....

best place in town 9/4/2011

I have been to Korean Gardens twice now and love it. It is very authentic, at least the Korean food is, I have not tried the Chinese section. The first time I got the beef hot pot and I thought I could of received more beef but the taste was excellent. The second time I got the pork/kimchi plate at $20.00 and it could of served 3 people. The serving size was huge and it was absolutely delicious! Service was very friendly for both lunch and dinner and I would highly recommend it. more

tastey food!!! 1/5/2010

I have been coming to this restaurant for years now!! The food is sooo..tasty!! I love it because they serve authentic Korean food that is freshly prepared per order. Recently, I tried another korean restaurant that was closer to my house and I was dissapointed...it was the Seoul Garden in Raleigh. Although it was convienent, the price of the food was not worth it...the plates were more for show rather than for taste, and the servers were not friendly at all! Although the Korean Garden is a bit far, the food is always worth the drive!! The mandu(dumplins) is all so good and the service is excellent!! Pros: Best korean food more

Authentic as could be! 8/1/2009

I had been living in Korea for over 4 years when I came back to Raleigh to visit my family last fall. As much as I wanted to eat Mexican food, (I love Korean food but had been eating it for years here in Daegu, S. Korea) my family insisted we visit this place. I was actually surprised that the menu and the taste of the dishes are as true in Cary as they are here in Korea. Many restaurants that serve international food change their recipes to suit American tastes (less spicy, or less garlic, more sweet..etc) but I did not find this to be the case at Korean Gardens. The kimchi was better than alot of the kimchi I have had here in Korea (many Korean restaurants here import their kimchi from China) It was nice to see so many of the familiar dishes I have been eating for years on their menu. The Nakji Bokkum (stir-friend octopus tentecles in a spicy sauce) was better in Cary than I have had in Korea, but I think that may be due to a different species of Octopus available. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by the authenticity of the dishes we shared, and proud to see my family the food I have been eating here in Korea for so long. Highly recommended!! Pros: Menu is truly Korean more

Intimate and Delicious 11/10/2008

I enjoy eating at the Korean Garden and recommend the bulgogi, galbi and/or ojingo bokkum. Very fast service, delicious food, very intimate environment. Pros: Convenient, fast service and delicious Cons: Is in an older shopping center and seems small more

The Korean Steakhouse in Raleigh 5/20/2008

I'm trying to write a review for 'The Korean Steakhouse' in Raleigh (Capital & Millbrook), but it's a new restaurant and Citysearch doesn't have it listed yet. Anyway, it's a great place! The staff is very friendly and they go out of their way to see that you are pleased. The ambiance is open and airy, and you don't feel crowded. They have three separate private rooms. If you have a large party, they separate the bills (some snobby places don't, weighing THEIR convenience more than the customers'). Not at this place, they see that you're pleased. The food is great, and they give you free oranges after your meal. Best oranges I ever had! Two thumbs up! Pros: Ambience, Friendly staff, Great food Cons: It's a little pricey, but worth it more

Excellent food; we love it! 4/22/2008

This is now one of my favorite places to go for dinner! The family that hosts the restaurant is very nice and provides good service. The food is really great, very flavorful. I like it better than Chinese and Japanese food! Though the restaurant doesn't look very upscale, the food is better than the more expensive Korean restaurants in the area, definitely!!! All of their dishes are great, soups and fried rice and noodles are all excellent. Try the Beef Kalbee - its really amazing! They recently put in the grill tables where you can cook your own dishes, and the experience is so much fun! There is a menu where you can pick different combinations of food to cook - we went last week with my parents and chose the Kalbee and seafood combo dishes, which was each like $45 each. Our host told us that each selection was for 2 people, but the portions were for more than 4 people, there was so much! They bring kimchee and sprouts and other accompaniments, and this time they brought some lightly salted/dried mackerel - which was so soft and really really delicious! Pros: Food, Dining Experience more

Excellent! 2/19/2008

I really enjoy eating at this family owned and operated korean restaurant. The Korean BBQ is excellent, as was some rice dish with eggs. I also like the different chicken dishes, the names of which elude me at the moment. Service has always been excellent, efficient and speedy. I recommend. more

This place has gone down hill! 11/14/2007

This place used to be great and my fiance and I would always go--it was our favorite place to eat Korean food in the Triangle and we would sometimes eat there a few times a month. We hadn't been in a while because we moved to another part of Raleigh. Because we were in Cary tonight we decided to go to the Korean Garden. Unfortunately, that place has really gone down hill. more

Great food, decent prices 12/13/2003

Great food and decent prices. High quality food, but for my stomach it's kind of skimpy. I just like to have more quantity. But, the amount they give you for the prices are decent. Dishes range from $7-$20. The good dishes are in the $15 range. And if you want to play it safe they have regular dishes for $7-$9. That's all Pros: Great Tasting food, Great service more

Very Pleased 7/9/2003

After living two years in the area, and then suddenly having cravings for real Korean food, I made it a point to check out the one Korean restaurant in the area. Having tried Korean food in DC, New York, and LA, I was skeptical at first, but definitely very pleased with what we received at Korean Garden. I had the duk mandoo guk (dumplings and rice ovalettes soup), and it was great. My husband had the Jam Pong and liked it too. The service was no-nonsense, friendly and efficient. The ambience was a bit dull, but we cared more about the quality of the food! We almost missed the restaurant, for the photo on this site was misleading. If it weren't for having the actual street address, we may have been searching for a while! Pros: good food, good service Cons: dull ambiance more

Good korean restaurant 6/22/2003

Although their meat quality has dropped, the taste of their food is definitely one of the best in town(pretty much the only korean restaurant in town). The wait staff are pretty friendly, and parking situation is not bad. Give this place a try.. you probably won't regret it. more

Good Choice 3/18/2003

This place is consistently more and more packed with people everytime I go back. That's good! This place has good Korean food, the best I've found since moving to the area. The jap chee? (seafood soup) is a favorite. Bi Bim Bop is another good choice. I took guests there and they had entrees from the Chinese food menu, didn't much care for it...but it is a Korean restaurant. I would stick with the Korean menu selections. Friendly staff, but tend to become overwhelmed with big crowds and services slows a bit. But its worth the wait anyway! Pros: Friendly staff, No frills eatery, Good authentic Korean Cons: Can be busy on Wknds. more

Wonderful service! 8/1/2002

The food is awesome and the service is very friendly. The prices are very affordable. The staff never forget a face. more

Best Chinese & Korean in town 7/23/2002

The dumplings are the best anywhere. Try the spicy seafood noodle soup if you like spicy food, you will love this soup. The food is outstanding. Pros: Inexpensive, Wonderful food Cons: Horrible Ambience more

Worth It 7/10/2002

I think anyone who tries this restauraunt will love it. Try the spicy seafood noodle soup. It is listed as a favorite on the menu. All the picked item you get with your meal are delicious as well. The service is okay but the food more than makes up for it and is also the main reason why I would go out to eat. If you want to be waited on hand and foot go to another restaurant. What's important here is FOOD and it's the best! Oh, try the dumplings too.MMM more
