Good Korean Food for San Jose are 11/28/2006

Ate here with my family while I was up in Northern California. I live in LA so I have access to probably some of the best Korean Food you can get if you go to Ktown. The portions here are large, and the side dishes here are very good. The Kalbi and bulgogi were okay at best. The fish was very good. The service is great and like someone else said, it is very non Korean friendly. It's crowded and loud and the ambiance reminds me of a busy chinese restuarant. I recommend this place if you have a craving for some Korean Food and are not looking for anything fancy. Pros: Large Portions, Great side dishes (pan chan?) Cons: Meet not as flavorful as other places more

Good food, fun, and service 4/29/2003

We had a large, fickle group and they still treated us great and were very patient w/ us. Our group kept growing in size, and they promptly reseated us to a larger table. We weren't too sure what or how much to order and they helped us out. The Kal Be and BiBimBap was great, large portions, and they didn't skimp on the lil dishes. the spicy pork wasn't spicy enough, but that might be cuz we had a couple of beginner-looking people in our group. :P This place cooked the bbq before hand versus where u cook it urself, which could be a pro or con cuz at least u don't smell of bbq for days afterwards. The waitress kept telling us we hadn't ordered enough food, so we ordered a lil too much, but it was still a great restaurant. Pros: Tastes great, Lovely service, Good value Cons: Tight parking, Dunno much English more

Great authentic food. Non-korean friendly. The food may be a tad pricey...10-15 average per person (dinner) but one must remember that at korean restaraunts (at least this one) you get about 10 side dishes/appetizers ranging from potatoe salad asian style to assorted veggie and seafood dishes. Also the portions are big enough for the biggest appetites. 2 dishes will stuff 3 people. Service is great and prompt. The owner? (funky hair lady) will even go so far as to instruct one on the proper eating ettiquite/customs of the food....she made the bbq/veggie wraps for everyone at our table as well as others. very crowed during dinner and lunch...make reservations if they do that type of thing but i don't think that they do. Pros: FOOD, service, location Cons: crowded more

Great Korean food. Prices are very reasonable, big portions. Lots of extra small dishes come with any entree order. The waitress are fast in getting the food to the table. Service is good, but not excellent as the place is usually crowded during lunch and dinner hours. Pros: inexpensive, great food Cons: crowded more
