Best place to eat in San Diego 1/5/2011

Best place to eat in San Diego. Come early or don't plan on getting a seat. Unbelievable amount of food that I can never finish - enough to last for dinner and breakfast the next morning! It's just a stupid amount of food. I love how they have the count on the number of days since they last raised their prices. You absolutely will not get a better value - especially on the beach! more

Delish and Inexpensive Breakfast 8/23/2006

Kono's is located on the boardwalk in PB. Long lines are to be expected, but it is worth the wait. This is a casual place where you order at the counter and then grab a seat. Several basic breakfast selections, as well as french toast. There is inside seating as well as two outdoor patio areas (one overlooks the ocean). Parking is located on the street, and is free on Sundays. Alternative, you can park in the Smart and Final parking lot and pay. Good stuff! more

Kono's Potatoes and Naked Roller Blader Guy 9/1/2005

Kono's is on the beach and on any give Saturday morning, you can go and find a giant line winding down the road in front of Kono's. There ARE other places to eat, even on the same street, but why? Kono's has outdoor dining, ocean views, and a ton of food for a low price. And it's GOOD food. The breakfast special plates and the breakfast burritos are all massive and all the plates come with "Kono's Potatoes" which are home fries with green peppers and onions and cheddar cheese melted into them, which are supreme. Pancakes, eggs, bacon - usual breakfast fare, but with an ocean view and for 5 bucks. Besides, there is a crazy dude who roller blades around the beach boardwalk naked every weekend save for some themed costume - like on Kentucky Derby Saturday he had a horse tail glued to his butt and a furry pouch covering his...you know. And on St. Patrick's Day, he had shamrocks on his cheeks and a leprechaun on his...you know. You can't beat the ambiance of the beach and the naked freak. You can't beat the potatoes. Eat here. more

Great Breakfast and Lunch! 8/7/2005

This is the place to be for breakfast in Pacific Beach. The food is really delicious and super cheap. And you get a lot of food - so go hungry! I'm not a big breakfast person myself so I usually like to get a sandwich at breakfast time. The other thing I really like there are the kono's potatoes. The place gets very crowded but if you see a long line, don't worry, it goes quickly and many people take their food out to the beach so you should still be able to find a place to sit inside. more
