I travel quite a bit, and I've stayed at many 4 and 5-stars hotels, a lot of which were in NY. I know 4-stars hotels...Le Parker Meridien was not a 4-stars hotel. ""Restrictiv...

SoSo Chic 6/27/2010

I took wifey here one Valentines Day and we had a great time. The rooms where small (check the room is in NY) but the modern chic feel made my lady feel special. If you can pay it's a great place to play. \r The breakfast is off the chain. Pros: Valentines Day Destination Cons: Pricey more

Love it here! 2/21/2010

We're here every year for a conference and we tend to spend a few extra days in the city so we can play and run amok. This year, we discovered that LPM accepted Starwood points - SCORE! Bye-bye NY Sheraton, we liked you but it's time to try a new neighborhood. \r \r After reading several reviews specifically calling out the fact that you should ask for the new tower, we did just that when we made our reservations. Checking in, we received one of the big bummers of the experience, the hotel key card. The thing is twice as long as a normal credit card and therefore impossible to keep in a wallet - truly, one of those little things like a paper cut that become huge. It was a serious pain in the arse to try to store the darn thing when we weren't in our room. LPM, make the keys a normal size! NOW! \r \r To offset the pissiness that the abnormal key card invoked, once we entered the elevators we discovered that LPM had a sense of humor, showing cartoons in the elevators. Depending on which car you rode in, you could see Charlie Chaplin, Tom & Jerry or classic cartoons such as Droopy. \r \r We rode to the 37th floor chuckling at the antics of Tom & Jerry and upon exiting on our floor were stopped at the sight of the amazing view of Central Park to the left. Just gorgeous. Off to find our room, we were pleasantly surprised that we were on the side of the hotel facing Central Park and thus our room had the same amazing view out a big picture window. Nice. \r \r The room itself is relatively spacious for a New York City hotel room. We brought P90X DVDs with us and were able to both workout comfortably in-room. Also, know that you can rent a fridge for your room if you're so inclined. Since we were there for a week, it was money well-spent. Carnegie deli tastes just as good over several meals in-room! \r \r Overall, very happy with the hotel and we will be returning next year. Good show, Le Parker Meridien. more

nice hotel, unfortunately it's a starwood hotel 8/7/2009

This hotel is nicely located and has a good business breakfast, unfortunately Starwood management is a nightmare. But if you expect not to be overcharged or you expect to accrue frequent flier miles, then just forget it. Every possible mistake is made through their centralized booking, overcharges don't drop off your account for weeks (even after repeated phone calls), and Starwood has a way of ""forgetting"" to tell you about mandatory service fees and the fact that you can't transfer credits unless you accumulate 2,500 of them. There are plenty of other hotels in the area--stay at them instead. Pros: good breakfast Cons: starwood management more

One of a kind! 6/6/2007

Chic rooms, sleek lobby and interior, great in-house restaurant choices (Norma's and burger joint), convenient location, excellent and on-point staff. Highly recommend for a flawless stay in NYC. Pros: roof-top pool, exceptional staff, restaurant choices Cons: cant think of any! more

A great experiance! 1/25/2006

it;s New York your'e suppsoe to be intimated by staying at a hotel. If you are searching search no furthur! I got a great deal booking through a travel website and got a great room, super clean, well stocked, great bathroom products comfortable bed and order room serivce or go to the burger joint to die for! The staff went out of their way to accomdate any of our needs even finidng a day spa that would be open late and gave us a brochcure. Overall our stay here was perfect. Pros: location, staff, burger joint more

Meet George Jetson 10/15/2005

Cartoons in the elevators, huge tvs in spinning dividers, long skinny doorless showers, doorbells to each room....modern, fun, clean and awesome location. Pricey, but its new york! Go for a junior suite. Beds are incredibly comfortable, staff friendly and helpful. Will stay again! more

Style & Wit with Great Service 9/10/2005

Can't go wrong here. The location is amazing, and the rooms are super compfortable and well designed. Don't miss the restaurants, Norma's and the burger place (hidden but great). The staff is helpful and really friendly too. more

Excellent hotel 7/31/2005

I've stayed here in business. The room was small, but clean and very modern-looking. The service was very good. I would definitely stay here again and consider it among the better hotels among those in which I've stayed. Pros: Service, Decor more

LeParker Meridien 1/20/2004

I have been to Manhattan exactly 3 times in my life. On two occasions, I stayed at the Meridien. Absolutely gorgeous hotel, with a freindly, professional staff. Perfect location, and great values on the web. Pros: Location, Cleanliness, Value Cons: Room Size more

Recommended 12/30/2003

I stayed at the Meridien for 6 nights on business. The price was great at under $250 a night in Sept. The rooms were a bit on the small side but were quite nice. The DVD/CD and free high speed Internet are great. The location is also excellent as it is just 2 block from Central Park and 100 feet from 2 subway lines. A excellent choice if in NYC. Pros: Free Internet, Location Cons: Somewhat snotty staff more

No Air Conditioning 10/21/2003

They might not be up tight, as long as you dont ask for air conditioning. Seems the hotels AC/Heat system is either on or off no matter what the outside temperature is. I recently spent several nights staying in town for a wedding. The room was hot!!!. I requested the air conditioner to be fixed three times, only to be given ""polite lip service"" from the front desk staff. In the end I was informed that the AC would not be turned on. A maintenance person at the hotel said that they have this problem every year between seasons. After all else failed two calls to the General Manager went Un returned. I did notice that the lobby was air conditioned. I guess that the Hotel doesnt want newly arriving guests to know about the antiquated Air Conditioning system until after they have checked in. Pros: Location, Food Cons: No Air Conditioning, Old Linens, Un Responsive Staff more

Great view and location 10/4/2003

After an exhaustive research effort and multiple options for lodging in New York during our visit, we settled on the Parker Meridien. Not only did we get a good rate...directly from their website...but the view was spectacular! We stayed on the 31st floor and had an expansive view of the park and both sides of uptown manhattan. Gravity was very nice...great weight training facility. For cardio, who could beat a run in central park...only 2 blocks away. The pool was nice and the rooftop sundeck was great for some souvenier photos. Location was spectacular...about 8 blocks from Times Square, and two subway lines at 7th and 6th. FREE high speed internet access was nice. The only downside was that the room was fairly small and it seemed like the bedding was rather old. But, overall it was a great place to stay. Definitely get a park view if possible. Pros: View, Pool, Location Cons: small, old bedding more

Cool, Real New York Smart 4/19/2003

On a recent business trip to NY, I stayed at the Le Parker Meridien. Wow! Roof top swimming pool, roof top walking area, what a gym (free to guests), large integrated desk, FREE internet connection, aeron chairs, neat decor, 32 INCH WEGA TV, DVD, VCR, great restaurants - NORMA's and Burger Place and a pets's menu on the Room Service list. This hotel is different, fun, not like the W, the Ian Schrager hotels, the Kimptons. Experience it for yourself!! Pros: Free Internet, 32" Sony WEGA TV, Cool restaurants Cons: No other hotels in US, Kids on weekends, low flr w/o park view more

St Patrick's Day Stay 4/5/2003

We stayed in a suite on the 34th floor overlooking Central Park for 8 nights. From the moment we walked into our room, we knew that it was going to be a fantastic holiday. The bed was the biggest that we have ever slept in. Views of the park from both the bedroom and the lounge. The walk-in shower, toiletries in both showers and by the basin. Big bath towels. Hanging space for your coats in a separate area from the wardrobe, there's even an umbrella! Big screen TV. Pros: Bed, View, Cartoons in elevator more

accurate description 2/9/2003

Got a great deal booking on HOTWIRE. View of park somewhat obstructed. I just found out what european decor means. Don't think luxury means plush at this hotel. Minimalist decor that is very clean and adequate for a night on the town. Not romantic. Can NOT beat the location. Norma's was fantastic. Bed very comfortable. For what I paid would go back in a second and highly recommend. Pros: Easy parking, service, Norma's Cons: none for what I paid more

Simply the best! 1/16/2003

My husband and I loved this hotel! We upgraded to a mini-suite when we arrived, and I highly recommend you do the same. The room was spacious and the big TV was awesome. I loved our room! The staff was always friendly and helpful, and the location can't be beat. This is the only hotel we will ever stay in while in New York! Pros: Location, Services, Great rooms! more

a nice stay 1/12/2003

My fiance and I had a nice stay at Le Parker Meridien. The staff was extremely nice and accomodating, and the location was fantastic. The room had a lot of nice little touches (shoe polish kit, nail file, candies at check-in). The only negative was the bathroom noise, you could hear the water running through the pipes. Pros: staff, location Cons: bathroom noise more

GO GO GO!!! 1/12/2003

Le Parker Meridien was simply amazing. We could not have asked for a better location, being only a few blocks uptown from the heart of Times Square, and the hotel decor was incredible. The best part? Instead of 'Do Not Disturb' signs to hang on the door knob....they say 'Fugetaboutit'....We'll DEFINITELY be going back!! Pros: friendly staff, great location Cons: no hairdryer in room more

Uptown Style, not UpTight 12/14/2002

Le Parker has renovated it's hotel to a sleek Scandinavian style that works both functionally and fashionably. It really comes down to three things that I like at this hotel: the rooftop sundeck/42nd-floor pool with skyline views, modernistic breakfast at Norma's restaurant and the french bistro Seppis that offers cozy booths and good food. If your into high-level room quality for two or more, i recommend upgrading to the suites. The standard/superior size rooms are not that large and can be crampy in certain areas but make up for it with the large TV, CD/DVD, ambience lighting and a fancy work desk/chair. Look for a package deal to keep the rates down and keep in mind this hotel is in a great location for tourists. more

Excellent. 11/29/2002

Nice rooms at a reasonable rate. Suggest you try the, ""Park view suites"", offer very nice views of central park. Also take advantage of the pool on the top level. Some of the best views of the city up there. Pros: Reasonable rates., Excellent views., Nice rooms. Cons: None, None, None more
