THE BEST STEAK PERIOD!! 7/22/2010

I grew up around Kirks Steakburgers and I can safely say they have not changed the menu one bit. And that is most definitely a good thing! I had no idea they had a location in Campbell, Ca. Historically I had been to their location in Palo Alto, Ca. If I could meet Mr. Kirk himself I would shake his hand until it fell off! Since the immaculate discovery of this new Campbell location I have eaten there at least fourteen times in the last two weeks. OK that?s a bit of an exaggeration however I would eat it every day if I could!! Pros: EVERYTHING Cons: NOTHING more

Decent burgers and attractive high school and college crowd 8/25/2006

This place cooks up a decent burger -- nothing extraordinary -- with quality meat prepared made-to-order. The burger is pricey as burgers go but you do get unlimited access to an open condiments bar to top off your burger. Service can be a bit spotty and there is an unseemly solicitation of tips given that this is a fast-food joint. Cleanliness of the restaurant is also questionable if you take a quick peer behind the restaurant. However, the place enjoys a steady business from nearby Palo Alto High School and Stanford. Pros: Close to Stanford, Palo Alto High; Excellent student-watching Cons: Pricey for pretty ordinary burgers more

Wonderful Splitters 6/27/2005

I have been going to Kirk's for about 5 years. Every birthday my family has Kirk's food, and the employees know us by now. The staff used to be friendly, consistenly asking for high-fives from my daughter (6) and son (3). My family always enjoys coming, though there are no large tables and we usually have to push some tables together (which is very hard, considering that in one room, there is no space to do that, and in the other room, most of the tables are round). The hamburger is good, the splitter is wonderful, and I haven't tried anything else. Pros: Great Food, Fast Service Cons: High Prices, Milkshakes too thick more

Duckwax 1/21/2004

I found the place congested, grubby and over-priced. I didnt appreciate the general air quality and dont need to be smoked with the food to be convinced the fire is real. My vote goes to Kals on Mathilda ave. Same general offerings, much better environment. Pros: informal, smells good cooking Cons: grubby, over priced more

Not Bad 12/13/2002

I've only been to the Kirks on California Ave, and tho the restaurant itself left me cold, the Burger itself was very good. As it appears to me that the burgers are from fresh beef, not that frozen patties that you find at most fast food joints. Takes me back to my childhood and the hand pressed patties that made hamburgers a delight. Pros: good burgers, fresh tasting beef Cons: indifferent service, sloppy cleanliness more

Steak lovers burgers 8/30/2002

The best tasting beef patty of anywhere, regardless of what you put on it. more

Great Burgers 8/23/2002

Kirk's burgers are as good as they come. Order 'em no better done than medium. The meat mix (which I understand has tomato soup and some other tasty ingredients) is top knotch. more

Thick and Juicy!! 8/20/2002

I remember fondly the when I was 5 years old sharing my first cheese burger with my sister. Weekly, my parents would take us to the Kirk's located where the Moonlight shopping center now stands. Nothing has change -- the Kirk's on Bascom Avenue is the best!! Forget the chain restaurants and try the best. Kirk's cooks burgers to perfection. Pros: good parking more

Not so good as it may sound. 8/15/2002

I was told this place has the best burger, so I went to try one. Well, I was pretty disappointed. It wasn't all that great to me. I think Nation's burger is tastier. more

BURGERS. (Period) 8/6/2002

Great burgers if you can stand the smoke inside! Parking is difficult in Palo Alto, but worth the trouble. Pros: good deal Cons: parking in PA more

Great tasting 7/23/2002

The burgers are perfectly thick and cooked to your liking. Plus, leave without getting the a milkshake. more

Twilight Zone?? 6/12/2002

A friend of mine dragged me to the Kirk's location on DeAnza Blvd in Cupertino, saying it was great. I found it to be nothing special and somewhat overpriced. The food is average and the restaurant itself seems in need of a good cleaning. My friend still likes it and doesn't understand my indifference. Did I fall into an alternate dimension?? Pros: Seldom Crowded, Quick Lunch, Unusual milkshakes Cons: Overpriced, Indifferent Service, Average Food more

Don't come looking for ambience: Kirk's is a big cinderblock square obscured by a thick meaty fog. Order at the counter, take a seat at one of the blue vinyl booths, and wait...
