Avoid Kim's Alterations! - I took a sports coat to be taken in and two pairs of slacks to be hemmed. The seams on the sports coat are uneven with ""pockets"" in the seam and there are snags on the material that weren't there when I dropped the jacket off. Top that off with the fact that the sports coat now fits worse than before. Its a total loss.\r \r I tried on one pair of slacks and the hems are so sloppy & uneven (not straight) they look like I did them by hand and one leg is about a half inch longer than the other.\r \r I am scared to even look at the other pair of slacks. Learn from my experience and find someplace other than Kim's to take your clothes for tailoring. more

Horrible and rude! 8/24/2011

I took in a pair of yoga pants and they did a good job, so i decided to use them for some curtains that i got as well. They ruined the curtains. I dont know what kind of seamstress can call themselves that when they cant do a straight seam on something as simple as a curtain. All four panels where longer on one side that the other. They charged me a ridiculous amount of money for 4 straight seams and when i took them back they had the nerve to tell me it was the fabric that even from the factory they dont come out straight. Needless to say i didnt let them touch the curtains again and i will be taking somewhere else to fix their horrible job. more

Not bad, but not great either 6/15/2011

I took a couple of pairs of pants to this shop to be hemmed because it was way too long. It took a week to get them back. it is advertised that hemming alterations can be done while you wait, which made me think that taking these pants in wouldn't take long. Thankfully, I didn't need them in a hurry. I called on two days prior to the pick up date that was given to see if the pants, by some chance were done and all that was told to me was that she hadn't begun to work on pick up items for Wednesday. I said but its a couple of pairs of pants to be hemmed, she repeated her previous statement. so i hung up. I went in today to pick them up. The hem alteration was ok. I wouldn't say it was great, but it was acceptable. I mean, its a lot better than i could have done, hence the reason why I took them to someone who could do the job. The stitching in the back of the pants were longer than the front, not noticable when wearing, but when you take the pants, turn them upside down, and flatten out the pants, the back side is definitely longer than the front. It will do, but I will not be returning with any other items for hems anytime soon. more

Terrible experience 5/19/2010

I purchased a chiffon dress for my daughters wedding. The tunic style jacket had arms that needed to be altere as they were too long. Kim ""supposedly"" meassured them to the place they should have fallen right at the wrist with a tip hanging on top of my hand. When I picked it up, took it home and tried it on, one sleeve was just above my wrist and the other sleeve was a good 1/2 inch shorter than that!!! When I took it back to show her and ask for my money back she actually had the nerve to suggest she sew on the fabric she had cut off!! On a sheer chiffon that would have been so obvious. She really didn't seem to care too much that they messed up although she did refund my money. Hardly helpful to get a few dollars back on a $250.00+ dress the totaly messed up. Beware!!! Find someone else to do your aterations!! Pros: Inexpensive Cons: Sloppy work, ""doesn't care"" attitude more

Freindly fast service 10/24/2009

I have been going to Kim for four years. Kim always greets you with a smile. Her prices are reasonable and she will not do work if she does not feel it is needed. I have never had any problems with any of her work which was always delivered on time as promised. Pros: Friendly and honest more

Sloppy Alteration Argumentative Tailor 1/12/2009

Do not take your slacks to be altered here!!! On a recent business trip to Albuquerque I purchased two pairs of slacks and wanted to wear one for an upcoming meeting. I looked in the yellow pages for a same day tailor and found Kim's. When I took my slacks in the soonest they could be ready was two days later. I was disappointed but decided to leave them as they would still be ready in time for my meeting. When I went to pick them up one pair was even but had been resewn with all the extra fabric left on making them hang funny. The other pair was almost a half inch longer on one leg. When I went to show her this she argued with me and kept pulling the leg down so that my waistband almost came off that side. After fifteen minutes of arguing she finally resewed the hem. It was sloppily done and was noticeably longer on one half of the leg. When I returned home my tailor said it was the sloppiest work he had ever seen. Pros: Not very expensive Cons: Sloppy work, Bad customer service, Terrible parking more
